Amarylis Hotel

The best club sandwich ever can be found right here! Have literally just returned from the Amarylis, such a nice place, really friendly, relaxed atmosphere, and yes Joseph (or Orlando as we called him) is pretty fine! Already missing it!

We stayed at amarylis in May 2005, really, really enjoyed it!! The hotel was lovely, it was right in the middle of evrything we needed. The pool and pool bar was great, Anna, her partner and Joseph (call him gayboy) were fantastic to us for the whole two weeks, made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The food was always very nice and good price. There were endless restaraunts and shops near the hotel, highly recommend Popeyes!! great food and the staff were brilliant, easy to get on with and very freindly.

Highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice quiet relaxing holiday!! Will definatly go back some time.

We have just got back from the amarylis. It was fab. The apartments were central and very clean. Nothing at all we can complain about, everything was clean and tidy with the maid in every day.

We would recommend these apartments to everyone, couples and families. Brilliant holiday, would definetly go back.

We have just come back from Zakynthos and our accomadation was excellent. The apartments are right in the centre of  Tsilivi and they are clean, tidy and well looked after. There is a pool and a poolside snack bar.  Plenty of shops and restaraunts to choose from. the locals are so friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for traditional greek cuisine then just go up the road for about 2 minutes and you will find the "OLIVE TREE" . So enjoy yourself and have a good time, we will certainly be going back to this apartment again.

After 3 years of going to amarylis we have become good friends with anna and family and she is now in england with us for 10 days to show her how nice england is. We plan to keep her here for her cooking! Anyone who wishes to send anna a message feel free to email us.

we stayed at the amarylis in 2003 with my nephew, (5 yrs) we had a lovely stay, cant say the noise was a problem.. too tired at the end of each day anyway!! the pool is nice, and anna and joseph are lovely..
can anyone tell me if they still have the little tortoises by the bar?? also is the english bar just oppasite still open?? (lovely breakfasts..!!)
We are coming back at the end of july for 2 weeks with our baby girl (well she will be 18 months by then) anyone going at that time??

we enjoyed this holiday the accomodation was ok the staff were quite nice,good pool, anna and joseph were very friendly and made us feel very welcome,the location was good plenty of tavernas and bars etc,also the beach was only down the road.This was our first time to greece and would consider coming back to the amarylis apartments ,alex was a star.

Stayed in the amarylis june 2004,brilliant holiday,Anna and joseph make you really welcome,although basic,i thought the apts were great,i didnt have a problem with the noise,a few drinks in the bar with Anna at the end of the night soon solves that problem.We met some lovely people,Dawn,Andrea,from Leicester,drop us an E-mail,would love to hear from you,im the one who was waving you off on your coach with tears in my eyes.Will be booking for 2005 at the amarylis.

Just got back from a week in the amarylis, they were really good apartments, quite big for two people, they are basic but they are kept clean and tidy, the only thing i didnt like were the towels and sheets as both of the sets we were given had quite big holes in!! but they were still clean. The staff are really friendly, the pool is nice wiv free sunbeds and lilos. It is in an excellent location, and not noisy like the brochure said, the beach is 5 mins up the road and it is surrounded by restaurants and bars! Definitely going to go back next year!!

Just got back from 2 weeks staying at the Amarylis, we had a great holiday. Rooms ok but had obscured view from balcony, T.V. didn't work. Pool and Pool bar excellent, the bar owners are very freindly. Anna is a lovely woman and her son Joseph is a wind-up merchant (question his sexuality to get your own back). Met some great people during our stay, will definately consider going back next year. Additional apartments will be completed by next year, so I hope they extend the pool.
Tsilivi's a great resort with plenty to do and lots of superb Tavernas.

You walked past them going to Magnalenas as they are the ones on the left next to the gift/paper shop. Only stayed once some years ago but have used thier pool on many occasions. Very frendly people. The dustmen noise though close to the Charalambos is not realy a problem from what I remember. I have stayed at the Charalabos as well so know what it can be like, depending what room you get.

Just got back from two weeks at the AMARYLIS.
(July 21 – Aug 04 2004)

Disappointment in the apartments is an understatement.

I chose the Amarylis because of the reviews posted on this site.
The complex is neither clean nor quite.
I didn’t expect much from the apartments, as it is a Greek Isle.
But laundry changed twice in two weeks and no clean towels is
Pretty poor even for Greece.
The apartments command a very central location quite handy for access to the resort, but it’s a bit of a bummer if you require sleep. The bar and street noise does not stop until around 4.00am; just in time for the Restaurant rubbish collections and traffic noise to start.
This is not a place I could recommend to either families with children ,or couples looking for a relaxing holiday.

Would never stay here again.

we had a brilliant time at the amarylis ,the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our time we stayed there,we are definatley going to go back again next year,the hotel is situated in a good area and the facilities are up to a high standard,the cleanliness of the room was to a high standard,the hotel owner was very nice and the pool bar owner including alex the dog!we will be going back next year

We were staying at the Amarylis so spent most days at the pool and popped in and out of the bar regularly. There was a lovley relaxed atmosphere and the staff were all really friendly. Didn't go so often in the evening as we tended to be more central, but did enjoy a few late night drinks - til the early hours usually!

Me and my boyfriend have just come back from our holiday at the Amarylis and it was absaloutly brilliant.
The hotel is situated perfectly and we had no noise disturbance all week even though everything is practicaly on your doorstep.
At the amarylis there is everything you could need, safety deposite boxes in your room to rent 10 euros for a week 15 euros for two the same with fans as there is no air con but we found these kept the room cool. The rooms are simple but provide you with everything you need i would advise anyone to spend their hols here as it caters for all and anna and joseph really are lovely!!

We are thinking of booking 2 weeks holiday at the Amarylis Apts June 2005,but my wife is worried about the possibility of noise (mentioned in the brochure).

I am thinking of making a late booking to this accomodation for late july. Can any one tell me if there is air con or can you hire fans locally (we have just been to argassi and can't get enough of the island!!!)Thanks

once again we stayed at these apartments they are ideally located & kept clean & tidy Nico the owner sorts out any problems if they arise but Anna,Nicos & Joseph at the pool bar are great not just as we have known them for many years they are the same to everyone & so obliging we shall be returning there in Sept & look forward to it

i had a brilliant time when i stayed in tha amarylis...met some people there who i'll never forget!!it's not to far from the beach and the clubs pubs and restraunts are right by it!!joseph and anna are really nice people and i'll look forward to seeing them soon :D luv adele xx

We have just got back from Amarylis and had a great holiday.

We were allocated accommodation on arrival and were very lucky to find ourselves somewhere so good.

The apartment was very clean and not as basic as a lot of places that I have stayed in before. (Although a shower curtain would be nice!)

The staff and basically everyone we met in Tsilivi were really friendly and polite.

I agree about the rep, she held the most boring welcome meeting that I have ever been to and didn't really tell us anything of use! She didn't even say hello to people when she visited. Yes she did have massive legs!

Would definitely stay at Amarylis again if we go back to Zante.

hi all i recomend you to go to the water viliage it is great fun five euros each if you go with the tour operaters but 10 euros if you go by taxi.
i recomend you to eat at benikios this is go to the super market with the esculaters and turn left just down there say that tom recomended you and he will give you free drinks starter and pudding and they are verey friendly.
the best breakfast you can have is at the amarylis not verey big but verey tasty thanks annah for that.
Joseph he is a great laugh if you can get him in the swimming pool you are verey skillful.
the apartments are verey clean and big one or two things they need to buy is a shower curtian and a shower holder. Nikos the boss is verey helpful if you are stuck with anything just pop down to him he will help you out.
The rep dont even go there dont tell her this but she is not verey helpful she dont know hardley anything she is not verey friendly or helpful or polite but i can tell you something look at the size of her legs they are as BIG as anything i hope that is everey thing i can telll you but if you need to know anything more dont hesitate to e-mail me on t261289@aol.com

myself, my friend and her parents stayed at the amarylis apartments between the 9th and 16th of october. we enjoyed so much and didnt want to come home. the food was lovely(especially josephs toast). anna and joseph were really kind people and made us feel really welcome. i would advice anyone to stay at the amarylis apartments as it is very central and clean. i wouldnt hesitate to return to the apartments!

Hi Linzi, We went to the Amarylis last year for 2 weeks at the begining of October and had a wonderful time, great weather, great food and great people. Tom and Johns is 5 mins walk away if that. I can`t remember the name`s of the pubs and restauants around but there are plenty to choose from. The 2 we went to most was Popeye`s just up the road and up the hill past popeye`s is the red lion they both do great food. But also Anna and Joseph who own the pool bar at the amarylis also do great food and very cheap. Hope this helps Lynne. Have a great holiday.

can anyone tell me where amarylis apartments are near to eg restaurants,bars etc. me and my partner are visiting zante for the first time in june. we have family going to tsilivi the week before us and they are staying at tom and johns apartments and id really like to know how far we are going to be from them. id be very grateful if anyone could help.

We visited the Amarylis for 1 week in October 03 and we have just changed our holiday to cyprus which we had already booked to go back to Tsilivi again for 2 weeks end of September again and We cant wait. We made great friends Anna and Joseph are wonderful hosts had lots of laughs and all of us are now returning again just to keep joseph on his toes.The apartments are clean,and very central.Food from the pool bar is delicous ( made by Anna) and very reasnable so we didn't have to go far. Only thing if you are visiting take some CD's as the music is limited. Cant wait to see everyone again.

we have returned from 1 week from1-8 October and we loved the place, cant wait to go back next year and would love to stay again in the Amarylis. Joseph and Anna were brilliant and work so hard. They are there from early morning to late at night and still have a joke and laugh with you. The rooms were very clean,and even though we were in the old block we had no noise problems at all.we met lots of friends Sue, Chris and Kids, James Lisa and Kids, Claire Leighton and Kids and finally Vic and Denise (nannan and Grandad who made our Holiday. totally recommended.Hope to see you next year.

we stayed here for a week from the 25th august had a room on the bottom floor of new block,the apartments are clean and bright. the pool is nice, and as people have said anna and joesph very friendly,in the centre of tsilivi so you dont have far to walk for dinner a drink or the beach.Tizzy's bar oppasite does a lovely cuppa in the morning!! if we ever come back to zante, then we would stay here again perfect base to explore the island too... watch out for the airport home, total nightmare..lucky the island is so beautiful!!!

we stayed at the amarylis on the 19th of august 2003 for two weeks and had a great time.The rooms are basic, clean and i would say slightly larger than most rooms i have stayed in before.
The owners of the appartments don't speak very good english but you can get help from the people who run the pool bar,Joseph,Anna and Nicos who are very friendly people, they are great with children and take time out to speak to the customers, i'm sure you will become thier friends as we did.
The pool and pool bar are very clean and serve a good selection of food, drinks and icecreams not to mention plenty of beer.
The pool bar plays music upto about 12pm, but not blairing,once inside your room you can hardly hear it.You can have a good laugh with Joseph the son who is 18 and a semi-professional footballer for Zante town,another good thing about him is you don't have to buy him a beer because he does'nt drink because of his football,his coach is very strict and regulary spys on him.
Anyway i hope this comment is of some use to you and helps you to enjoy your holiday to the amaryilis as we did.

We went there in August 03. I felt that i should let everyone know how fantastic our holiday was. The appartments have a central location and is surprisingly quiet, do not be put off by the brouchures saying it is noisey because it wasn't. The central location makes it great to find your way round Tsilivi and with the hot weather of Zante you don't want to be walking far. If it gets too hot you can always rent a fan from reception to cool you down. The appartments are very clean and everyone has its own balcony. The pool area is fantastic and the pool is great and with the pool side bar and snack bar run by Anna and Joseph they will make you feel like one of the family. All the sun loungers round the pool are free. The resort is very friendly and is more of a couples resort and family resort than a roudey singles resort, there is lots of activities within the resort for you to do. We didnt find a bad restaurant, food was fantastic. The beach is beautiful and the appartments are only five minutes walk to the beach. The beach is great for kids as the water is shallow for quiet a way out and very warm. The only regret of the holiday is that we only went for one week. We stayed here from july 30th till august 14th. This was the first holiday we really enjoyed Anna was my best friend and the sweetest women, Nikos was a cool guy and also very friendly. Jozeph is the sexiest guy in the whole of Tsilivi and his little brother lewis aint far behind. Holidayed at the Amarylis Apartments between 17 - 31 July. Had a good holiday. Apartments are clean but very basic, no shower curtains, so the floor gets very wet. If you are lucky enough to be allocated a room in the newly completed block (which we were'nt) they easily sleep three with a pull out bed from one of the single beds. Better than the creaky fold up bed we had for the fortnight. Maid service is daily but towels are only changed every 3-4 days. The only the two people who seemed to be able to speak english were the managers. Fans are avialable to hire for 15euros for 14 days. We felt that what makes the place are the people who run the pool bar and pool area - Anna and her son Joseph (they can speak english) They are the nicest people that you can meet, and nothing is too much trouble. They made our holiday very enjoyable. They rent the pool bar and area etc from the owners and offer great hospitality. No trouble getting a sun bed or shade. Tsivili itself is not the biggest resort but plenty of places to eat or have a drink. We enjoyed going into Athena's which is next to the apartments, but most places offer good food and value for money.

Even though we were into the high season, noise was not a problem. Though our room was situated in a corner away from the road. Rooms in the old part do overlook the main road and are much smaller than the other rooms.

Amarylis apartments are ok , it can be noisy in july and August due to late bars and traffic, thou it it central to all ammenities, the weather in may is hot during the day but becomes cold of an evening having to wear a thick jumper or coat . Weather in July august is very hot

Anna is the best cook in Zante, her food is fresh and tasty. Anna , Nikos , and Jozef helped make our Hoilday very special. BBQ/GREEK nights were very good, a real relaxed feeling about this place, all are welcome. Thanks for a great holiday

We stayed here in June 2002, The best part about this holiday was the pool bar who is run by Anna and her son Jozef. The food was fab, Anna and her Husband Nikos Looked after us really well. We would like to go back next year, but this is no longer in the aspro/ airtours book. Thank you Anna for making our Holiday really special.

We stayed here 2 years ago but always go back and visit Yanni and Niko who are always very friendly.You must have a go on the " walk the plank " - but not when youve had a drink-its good fun- The bars good too and the Samboocca are excellent. Yammass.
