Elite Studios

We have just returned from the Elite and have had the best fortnight's holiday ever. Having visited Laganas 7 times in the last 3 years we wish that we had found this location on our first visit. A very special couple run the Elite and have made us very happy.

We have just returned from one week at the Elite and to say the stay was too short is an understatement.  Maria and Spiro were absolutely wonderful hosts whom we miss already .  Mama is a wonderful cook and Diana kept us nice a tidy.

Can anyone help us please. We are booked at the Elite apartments this year. Does anyone know or has spotted in their travels the Adventure diving centre? I think it may be on the beach front to the left of the Elite as you look towards the apartments from the beach if so how far do you think it is. Does anyone know if the snorkelling is good in the sea beside the Elite apartments. Any bit of info would be fab. Many thanks. June

I have been back to Elite for many years now and have become great friends with Maria & Spiros.  From your rooms you are a stone throw away from the pool, bar and then a matter of steps until you are on the beach - PERFECT!!

Hi every one. I have been friends with Maria & Spiros for some years now and they are very nice people. Regarding the sun beds on the beach the goverment charges them, So they have to charge the customers. I hope if you are considering going to the elite then you will go with an open mind and decide for your self.

We stayed at Elite apartments from 23rd September 2004 which was suppose to be for a three weeks stay. When we arrived the accomodation of room number one which fay and dennis stayed in was far from basic it was ancient. Dark and gloomy and a shower over a toilet. The door would not even lock properly so had to be left open with all our belongings in the room when Maria was asked to complete a repair she made excuses every day that she could not get hold of the maintenance man in the end we just gave up asking her. On the second week of our holiday the pool was not filled with water but a green slime which no one could use. When Sprios the hotel manager was asked to clean the pool he told me it would be done the following day but of course again this never happened. He then deceided to inform everyone that he had closed the pool and it would not be cleaned. After a lot of upset to everyone it was finally done after the holiday rep became involved in the situation. Maria became abusive to myself and we were asked to leave the apartments. I would never recommend this accommoation to anyone and I would certainly not stay there ever again. Maria and Spiros are extremely rude.

well, i have to agree with the comment below as its all true we stayed exactly the same time as you and to be honest i dont think we should have had to pay for them loungers at all, the funny thing is on the last day wen we were waiting to go home maria only went to go and charge someone for sitting on the loungers while they were waiting for their couch to pick them up. i cant fault the location as it was lovely to be able to leave your apartment and your smack bang on the beach. i just feel that it would have been nice to have the pool open as well. well in our weeks stay we saw 2 couples get chucked out and 1 couple leave. i must admit if i had been on the bottom floor i would have to the shower was in the toilet and the rooms were pitch black. we were obviously one of the lucky ones who were made to feel welcome. spiros is a ledge, the bar is nice. other than that the cleaner was quite funny she did get in a bit of an a**e cos there was sand on the balcony but christ we were right on top of the beach what can u expect. other than that she was really funny.

Well we do i start when we first arrived at the elite Studios the first impression was great, but think again.
My sisters children went to go in the pool on the second day but they could'nt because it had all green slim in the pool we asked them to clean the pool out and they said that it was my Nieces fault for making it green by putting lilos in the pool (how lilos can do that i will never know.

You have even got to pay for the Sunbeds on the beach which belong to the elite.

The people who owened the Elite were'nt very pleasant at all (Maria)

Another instance we got friendly with a couple in the Elite they took a can down to the poolside and maria came up and said if you want a drink you can buy it from my bar (bare in mind that we where self catering)Maria even throwed them out of the Elite.

The 1 thing i can say which was good was Tanya the cleaner you could'nt pick a fault with her at all she was the only 1 who tryed to speak 2 us.

I will never go back to the elite again because of the way we were treated.

Just got back from a week away at Elite an it was FANTASTIC!! me my girlfriend my mate an his girl went and i can honeslty say that it was a fantastic place, the apartments are nothing special but extremley clean. The cleaning lady is great and a good laugh! (even though she can't speak english!) We left her all our shampoo's an things and she was made up! Maria, spiros, and all the other staff where fantastic! Spiros even fixed our broken bed!! (room 8) It was a great holiday and you guys made it even better, i hope to be back soon! (as long as theres no people screaming at each other at 3AM!!!!) Thanks Guys hope to be back one day,

My boyfriend Rob and I have just returned (12/9/04) from a fabulous 2 weeks holiday at the Elite. Our only disappointment was the fact that we had to come home! Maria and Spiros are wonderful hosts and took every opportunity they could to make our holiday special. The apartments were basic but extremeley clean - the cleaning lady is extemely friendly and efficient and made every effort to talk with us despite speaking very little english!! The beach bar and the views you see from it are seccond to none and the pool area is a beautiful suntrap which is perfect for relaxing and sunbathing. The pool is spotless - cleaned every day by Arthur the pool man who if your not careful may throw you in! We have never been anywhere with such beautiful scenery and such friendly people. We would like to thank all at the Elite especially Maria Sprios and Paul. We can honestly say that it has never been so hard to leave & go home from anywhere before and we will definately be back!

We have just returned from a fantastic 2 week holiday at the Elite. This was due to the amazing views, the gorgeous pool, the excellent beach bar and most importantly the hosts! Maria, Spiros and Paul are extremely generous people who certainly make sure you enjoy your holiday. The rooms are basic but are cleaned extremely well. I hope that we will be going back next year, just so that we can kick the boys butts at bowling (Maria make sure you get lots of practice over the winter!).

I would recommend the appartments to anyone and guarantee they will have a brilliant time.

Well well well talk about a mixed responce !!! Me and my fiancee spent a weeks holiday at the elite last year and had a cracking time. Spiros and Maria are really really nice people (Fact) Pauls a bit of a nob (only joking mate). From the first day we arrived we spent most of the Holiday with Paul, Andie, Spiros and Maria. We were taken snorkelling, played volleyball, went into the Mountains to a restaurant any "normal" holiday maker would never have found and on the odd occasion went out and had a drink or 12. The studios are typical Greek and are more than comfortable over a week/ 2 week holiday. Most of the comments on here are fair and true and if they are to be believed the elite Studios are well worth a visit, if i wasn't so bloody skint i would be doing this year.

Got back from a 2 week holiday @ the elite last night, and can honestly say that all the negative points posted on here are unfounded. The apartments were cleaned daily and all the staff were great!
And my 2 two boys (7 & 9) LIVED in that pool - which was cleaned daily and kept in great condition!
We stayed in room 14 (at the top) and I can recommend the views to all.
An excellent time was had by all

a level certificates do not make you a respectful person. when you booked you were told it is a studio apartment - if you so called are used to better why not book a damn hotel then............

maria and spiros do not take a disliking to anyone unless extremely pushed to the limit by people upsetting them and other holiday makers. as for your health and safety - maybe look at your own actions !!!

fair enough it was not for you - so we will all be glad to hear you will be taking your annoying a**es to another resort - hopefully another island.

you are in their country and you have to respect how things are done. maria and spiros bend over backwards to help people and to make people feel welcome and you just stormed in as though you owned the place. wrong

These apartments are poor, no two ways about it. Anyone who should question my intelligence as one person has done so below to another of my friends i would gladly welcome them to view my A-level certificate, makes for interesting reading!

Anyway, these apartments are below standard. They are small, the toilet is in the shower, no locks, no functioning cooking appliances etc. OK for location and to be fair the bar is a nice area. I aint got no grudge or axe to grind but just being honest.

Maria and Spiros probably are nice people but they took a disliking to us and were irrational and almost a danger to our health. Good luck to them in the future though I honestly wish them all the best.

The places weren't for us, you may like them. Maybe we expected better or are used to better!

Enough is enough...may the Zante boys live long...heres to next year in bed!

for the last 3 years i have been visiting maria and spiros and they have become dear friends of mine. their hospitality, friendliness and most of all their desire to please people make them valuable hosts. paul and i first came to elite as holiday makers and never looked back - one of us even moved over there for the summer to work behind the bar!!!! like some people have said the rooms are basic - so bloody what...... you have a room to sleep and wash and thats about it. if you want a holiday just to sit in your room then go to bognor!

For a start I would highly recommend a lesson in punctuation and grammar for the person below. Trying to read that lexical diarrhoea at this time in the morning is some effort.(note how i used a full stop at the end of that sentence!!). Education was obviously a step too far for some.

Anyhow to my main point. Reading these complimentary comments below just highlights the kind of people you are. How anybody could praise such a place is quite beyond me, and only confirms my view that you dont get around much hey?! For a start, Elite would not even be deemed worthy of 1 star if one was to adhere to the British system of rating accommodation. The decrepid nature of the place alone (without any reference to the staff by the way)is bad enough. God bless the poor soul below who claims Elite is set in "beautiful surroundings"! Too much Ground Force for you dear!

We were on holiday when you were staying there and were quite selfish as you didn't respect other guests staying in the block. You were continuously sat outside your apartments with loud music and noisy party games. Maria and Spiros were fair 2 you, but you didn't cut them any slack. So i think its about time you got over it and moved on.

Why do people try to put the boot in just because they have had a bad experience?
The last entry is made by a typical Brit abroad who left their brain at home - or on the floor of a club somewhere (if they had a brain in the first place).
The Elite should be highly reccommended for location, and atmosphere.
Maria, Spiros & Paul were the icing on the cake of our holiday - belive all the good stuff below and ignore the rest.

Three of us spent a fabulous 2 week holiday at these appartments. Maria, Spiros and Paul were wonderful hosts, always willing to help, entertain and make us feel very welcome. The location is perfect for families as it's far enough away from the hub-bub of the town but close enough for a leisurely walk along the beach (10 mins). The appartment block is set in beautiful grounds and the views are breathtaking. The pool is very clean and a good place to meet the other holiday makers in the appartments. Yes, the studios are small and basic but we were only in them to shower and sleep and as they are cleaned 6 out of 7 days and fresh laundry is supplied every 2-3 days there was absolutely nothing to complain about. I have been to several Greek islands and this is the first place I have stayed where they even top up your loo roll!
I would recommend the Elite particularly to families as the atmosphere in the bar and around the pool is very social with everyone looking out for each other. However, its great for everyone as you have the best of both worlds here - you can walk into Laganas town for the nightlife and then escape back to the appartments, pool and bar to relax and enjoy the company and scenery.

Hotel is the best yet! Maria, Spiros and Paul are great hosts everything was fantastic!!! The appartments were very basic but clean and good non the less. We just got back and we miss it already! Take no notice of the people who dont like it everything is fine and the cleaner is not a pycho she is a very nice lady who is very friendly despite the fact she cant speak a word of english. But who cares??? Anyway Maria Spiros or Paul if you read this Bradley is missing you i think Maria knows what i meen please please please if you have an email address cud you plz send to uz or write we left the address in the comments book

The Burdetts!!

We have just returned from The Elite Apartments and felt compelled to add comments here - as the rating out of ten has been unfairly harmed by a handful of people who appear to have had a bad experience.
I hope that any prospective visitors to this pleasant island will see that, on the whole, the comments made about the Elite are very good.
From our experience; The apartments are fairly basic (this is our fourth different Greek island holiday and we have found this to be normal), but they are very clean (the cleaner lives on site and despite what has been written elsewhere, was always smiling and friendly - perhaps the fact that she speaks no English went against her in some peoples view...)
The location is perfect, with stunning views of the bay. The apartment block is just a ten minute walk from the main street, which is far enough away from the thumping 'music' from the nightclubs.
The pool area is exceptional. With just fourteen apartments, it never gets crowded and it's cleaned every morning so the water is always crystal clear.
The bar/snack bar sits just off the beach, the snack bar food is excellent.
Sunbeds are available on the beach - which, being away from the more densely populated end of town, was never too busy.
The beach is very narrow, with dark, soft sand. The sea is beautifully clear, shallow and warm.
Maria, Spiros and Paul are very freindly, helpful and hardworking - it was a pleasure to have met and made friends with them.
I have no hesitation in recommending the Elite to anyone planning a visit to Zakynthos.

A footnote - for first time visitors: It's helpful to note that in all Greek toilets you drop toilet paper into an adjacent bin and not the toilet bowl (something we only learned on the transfer coach at the start of our first Greek holiday!) I have yet to find a Tour Operator's brochre that points this out. It's not a problem, but it helps to be prepared - take a pack of Nappy bags with you!

We would like to add our comments about the Elite studios. Firstly we didnt stay there, we stayed at the Divina Studios however everytime we walked into the main town we used their bar as a short cut and felt we must comment on how excellent it was. If you are a couple or family this is undoubtly one of the best places, when you want the busy night life its just a short walk along the beach, but it is far enough away for some chill out space. Stalios, Maria, and Paul worked hard on ensuring that we were always made comfortable and welcome. They are keen to help with your Greek language and are a font of local knowledge on the best restaurants, other bars and can help you from being ripped off by taxi drivers. We commented on how our own appartment pool was getting cloudy. They kindly offered us the use of all their facilities, and invited us to the BBQ and Quiz. The bar is virtually on the beach with sunbeds, a decked bar area, pool table, all shadded by two huge palm trees. We have been to many countries (and many bars) This is without a doubt one of the best. So thanks Stalios, Maria, Paul for everything.

Hello!This is Maria and Spiros that we own the Elite studios.I would like to say a big THANKS to the people that they know who we are.First of all I will say that these boys from their first day they've been in trouble in Laganas when one of them went on a policeman and said him that he is a f....n pig.Then their second day they broke the front door of their room and they got a receipt with the money they paid AND third they lost their key and we asked them 100euros and we gave them back the 95euros to go to Laganas and have a drink from us.Also you should let us know about the BBQ so we could call a doctor.

Having just returned from a really brilliant week at the Elite Studios
I would like to say how good we found them.We went as a family group of six. Appartments were basic (but this is Greece and who in their right mind wants to spend any more time than they need in their rooms)
The cleaner was great ( I've never had my room cleaned 6 days a week,or had the clothes folded and put away and the washing up done for me).
Room 13 is the best room there and probably the coolest, but beware if you don't like heights your access is up an outside spiral staircase,but don't be put off it's worth the climb just to sit on the balcony and drink in the view,along with the local booze.
The location was perfect,as we prefered to be quieter but the youngsters only had a ten minute walk to the clubs,and a twenty minute stagger back.
Had great fun with the"ethnics on tour" thanks to them our girls managed to find their way home in one piece.
Yes Spiros will try to throw you in the pool,but on the last night we got our revenge when he and Paul both went in aided by our son & daughter!!(just Maria to go then).

COOOOOOOR what a great holiday!!! Had such a great time but was a shame about the apartment, can't fault Spiros, Maria and Paul but the apartments are very very basic!! only good for clubbers who aren't spending time in the rooms!! The strip was fantastic so much better then home. Met loads ofgreat people including the supposed "t*****s" downstairs, sorry bout window gary and dave!! Also sorry to any future residents in room 1 may get double the mossies :-s

well the apartments are basic. i think that the only thing that worked properly was the fridge, the lights, shower and hob didnt work properly. the location is ok i suppose but tryin to walk over that little bridge at 5 in the morning is interesting!

the people that own the apartments and the bar are really nice although i wouldnt want to get on the wrong side of them because i saw them angry! we did get a number of free drinks though which was good. however they can be as nice as pie if you break something because me and my friend broke a slate of glass from a window downstairs trying to play a joke (although you could have taken it out by hand) and we went and told them and offered to pay and they said forget it! so i suppose it depends if they like you!

overall laganas as a whole was great especially the bars and clubs. i might go back but not to elite!!

Firstly, those lads weren't a bunch of "T*****s", they were actually extremely decent blokes. Secondly, do stay the hell away from the bbq, i was really ill and missed a night of the holiday! Thirdly, I also stood on a nail. Fourthly, the cleaner is a mentalist but she provided humour. And finally... we should have won the quiz!

Having just returned home from a fantastic holiday @ the Elite Studios, firstly i would like to thank all the staff (I.E. Maria, Spiros, Paul, Mama (the cook), the cleaner and the pool cleaner) They MADE the holiday!!
The apartments were spotless continously,due to the cleaner visiting 6 days out of 7. The pool was also spotless, again being cleaned every morning!
The location was perfect, being just a 10 min walk along the beach from the main street of Laganas ('The Strip') This 10 minute walk proved to be a life saver on many occasions, where the 10 mintutes of fresh air suited its purpose after numerous heavy nights!
The only critisism i would bring up, although it seemed to be unavoidable, was that of the mentality of other guests. In particular a group of boys that thankfully left a few days before us!! They were a bunch of complete and utter T*****S!! Adding to that i would have to say that the 2 messages below this one, are full of rubbish and couldnt be further from the truth (As can be seen from eartlier messages)
I was also part of a group of friends, and found not one problem to complain about!!
Elite Studios are well worth a visit, and i hope the previous messages left by those bunch of idiots doesn't change any views on the complex!

By the way - The BBQ was Superb, and the Dr Pepper(Cocktail) is a must

mmm....dont really know where to start. Just come back from a 2 week holiday there with friends and to be honest we ended cup counting the days. If you like... a toilet in the actual shower (room no. 1), a toilet with no seat (room no. 2), identical keys to open rooms 2,3 and 4, no air conditioning, a psycho cleaner, nails piercing through the tiles in the corner of the pool area (which incidentally, and rather importantly, my friend became victim to and was rushed to hospital with an infected toe- he's sueing by the way), a 100 Euro bill for losing a key, and a very creepy man working behind the bar... then Elite is the perfect place for you.

Personally i'm used to accommadation a little nicer. I write this still recovering from a throat infection contracted whilst staying in these dust-ridden apartments. Oh and avoid the BBQ n' Quiz night. Let us just say that the morning after wasnt too pleasant (although we won the quiz!)

Elite, you've certainly created some stories for us lads to recall time and time again.
All i can do is wish all those staying there over the summer...

An amazing holiday, best yet!! Maria and Spiros really are EXCELLENT hosts (although Spiros may throw you in the pool, watch out!) Perfect location, just a few steps away from the beach and about five minutes walk to the main strip, dont worry about getting your feet wet along the way, Spiros built a bridge on our last day!! Excellent bars and clubs in Laganas with many free shots and if you're lucky Maria and Spiros may invite you to join them in cocktails and dreams, do it, they really are amazing company! We will be back next year, no doubt about that. Thankyou guys for making our holiday so enjoyable and memorable. xoxox

twenty three of us have just returned from a holiday to remember ,spioros,maria and a english friend of theirs paul made our stay really enjoyable,apartments are basic but comfortable&clean pool down a few steps (nice and clean)afew more steps takes you to the bar a few more steps and your on the beach. the main drag of laganas is only a short walk along the beach(if the tides in you may need to paddle in a few inches of water )we did have problems with accomodation allocation but this was due to manos

Me and my boyfriend Paul stayed in these studios in June 2003, it was our first holiday abroad together and it was fabulous.

The studios are right on top of the beach so you get a good sea view (you can even see the little turtle heads bopping up and down about 6pm!), the studios were a nice size and were always clean. The pool is lovely too, just what you need to cool you down in the blazing sun that we had.

Maria and Spiros who run the studios are great, they are always around to help if you need it, nothing is too much trouble. Maria and Spiros also run the bar, Olympus, its always good for a drink before you hit the clubs and then some more before you go to bed! Lagana itself is a lovely place, it has its quiet and noisy bits, its really pretty and also with the turtles too (wow), we both strongly suggest it.

Paul and I would definately come back to these apartments it really was a fantastic holiday! Thanx Maria and Spiros.

have read what everyone else has written - tought i got wrong place - maria and spiros couldnt give a toss - it was dirty and i had no lock on my door - then it got hit by a tornado !!!!!! - I wouldnt go back there if they paid me !

JUST RETURNED FROM A WEEKS HOLIDAY AT THE ELITE, IN ONE WORD...FANTASTIC!! WEATHER WAS IN THE 30'S EVERYDAY, HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE.........MORE IMPORTANTLY SAFE, FRIENDLY & FUN. THE TRAVEL AGENT SAID IT WAS CLOSE TO THE BEACH AND SHE WASN'T KIDDING, HOP, SKIP, JUMP AND YOUR SWIMMING IN WARM & CLEAR ZAKYNTHOS SEA. MY FIANCEE AND I WERE MADE TO FEEL WELCOME FROM THE MINUTE WE ARRIVED, SPIROS AND MARIA WERE NOT ONLY GREAT HOSTS BUT ARE NOW VERY GOOD FRIENDS....WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN IN MAY.

Just got back - great holiday but if you are booked into a two bedroom apartment make sure you get No. 13 - it is the only one in that apartments with TWO bedrooms!! Otherwise everything else very clean. Maria and Spiros great fun - kept our sons amused!

PS. Be warned, there is a lot of steep stairs!!!

WARM & CLEAR WATER , 10 MINS TO TOWN IF YOU WANT SOME LOUD NIGHT LIFE, FOOD & DRINK EXCELLENT, WE,LL BE BACK!

The last comment by me - the ticks were meant to all be excellents, I clicked OK too soon, everything about the studios was brill!

Answer to last question: The studios are very clean, the staff are the nicest people in the world, the nightlife is great, the town is 10 minutes walk. The beach is also on the doorstep. If you stay here you're guaranteed an all round excellent holiday. I recommend going to Dallas, Paradise Restaurant and the Greek night up in the hills to eat. Cocktails and dreams bar is one of the best along with Zero's. Have fun! Take loads of films. Do the Tour around the Island, but book through an independent travel company along the strip, works out much cheaper.

Maria and Spiros from Elite studios are the nicest two people in the world - thanks for making our holiday so great guys. Hope to see you over in England, we'll be back in Zakynthos next year to visit you. You are both great fun and we'll definately keep in touch with you. We both love you lots and miss you lots. Hi, I read somewhere that taxis and public transport were minimal on the island and as we are unable to hire a car (due to age restrictions) I wondered if anyone would be able to verify this for me!

We really enjoyed the holiday the apartments were very nice but we were not very happy that we got kicked out of our apartments a day before our flight and we had to pay 40 euros if we wanted to stay in there. We booked our holiday friday to friday not friday to thursday.

The tour operator is Manos,just booked for next year

Appartments are basic and small, but everything you need & are cleaned everyday. The hotel has the greatest location in the area, its away from the loud music when your not wanting to go out or be distrubed at night, but still within a short walk along the beach are shops and many great bars and restaurants. Maria and Spiros are excellent hosts and know how to help make your holiday more fun!

just got back after two weeks, brilliant time. One of the best holidays ever,clean,quiet,and so near the beach.A big thankyou to maria and spiros for looking after us

Elite Apartments Brilliant !!!Just got back from 2 weeks there.Apartments were ok ,fridge and 2 hotplates for cooking snacks.Cleaned every day, clean linen every second day. Super pool Spiros and Maria were great hosts nothing is too much trouble for them.Great location,away from the hustle and bustle but the clubs shops etc are a short walk away.

what are the apts like, whats the area like and is it cheap to eat out.
