Ionis Hotel

I stayed at the Ionis last July, Ive had many greek holidays and I must say it is the best greek hotel I have ever stayed in, very clean, hot water and air conditioning, we stayed bed and breakfast but still got a fridge. Pool is clean, staff are lovely, very friendly. It is on the main stretch but set slightly back off the main road and was not noisy with the patio doors closed. I am going back to Laganas on 27th June for a fortnight with the girlies but unfortunately couldnt get in the Ionis so will be staying at the Elisa instead.

hello to everyone at the ionis liane tanya lee maria caroline anda and nicolas how are you all? i have finerly got myself on my feet!! i really miss all of you and i really enjoyed working with you all i hope everything is ok! just to let you all know i have gone for my own bar and liane when you get home in the witer, of course you can work with me !! and live with me same to you tanya. sorry if i let you all down by coming home but dont think i didnt enjoy my stay with all of you!
if anybody who is reading this and thinking weather to stay at the ionis just let me tell you it is one of the nicest places to stay all the staff are great and the owners will look after you whatever your needs. if your going to laganas this is the hotel to stay at.

we are planing to go to the ionis hotel next year, can anyone please tell me if this is a good family hotel, and also which tour operators other than manos go here

Hi, got back from Zante on the 28th July, were we had a two week stay. We thought the Ionis was fantasic. It is excellently located (close to bars, restaurants and the beach). The rooms were cleaned every day and the staff who worked there are very friendly. Hi to Kerry (who is probably home in the UK now), Leanne, Tania and Lee who were all fantastic and made us feel extra welcome.

We've just returned from a one week stay at the Ionis Hotel, and don't think we could have stayed anywhere better. The hotel is set back from the main strip slightly and although you would think this could be noisey it was never a problem. It is about a 5 min walk from the beach, and the supermarkets, cash machines and restuarants are all close by.

The Hotel itself is family run (hello Maria and Caroline from Warren Beatty), and is spotlessly clean, each room has air-con, tv, fridge, shower and shower curtain (a bit of a luxury apparently) these proved to be essential. There is a swimming pool that is kept clean but you have to get there early to grab a sun-lounger.

All the staff were very friendy and did a top professional job, Kerry during the day at the pool-side bar kept us topped up with drinks and club sandwiches. Liane in the evening provided us with some tasty cocktails (don't forget to publish that cocktail book), and Tayna on reception (thanks for introducing me to yoghurt and honey.....and keep up the pool playing!!). Laganas is a resort aimed at the younger generation but if you still want to get good nights sleep after partying in a clean cool hotel room this is a good place to stay. If I come back to Laganas this hotel would be my first choice of place to stay. Cheers for a great stay.... Dave, Graham and Steve

Just come back from short stay at ionis - basic, clean, air con works, think hot water in shower may have been a bit tempramental but as had no need for warm shower i didnt see this as an issue. Staff very helpful and friendly. Oh and the fat bloke with the doughnut scam is still doing the same thing - as of monday morning he was peddling his 'nuts out of the back of a dirty green astra hatchback. Hotel is right on the strip but noise not a problem though.

Just returned from Laganas, fantastic location (right on main street), lovely pool and reception staff were very friendly.

If your looking for an upbeat holiday - great location for bars/clubs and beach. If it's a quiet holiday your after - maybe one of the hotels along the Kalamaki Road or further away from the beach may suit better.

Start of season was quite quiet (just what we wanted), with many of the bars not opened yet but wouldn't want to go any later in the season... think Blackpool in the sun - if that's your bag then great!!!!!

To sum up, great hotel in good location, but resort in mid summer would be an 18-30's dream holiday... (if that's what you fancy - great!!!)

could someone staying in nearby studios rent a safe box and if so are they of decent size

just had two weeks in Laganas with 5 mates..known to hotel staff as the 5 musketeers (not sure why) but hotel was great small rooms but very clean, air con, great pool and great staff..Tony (bar pool guy) was top doller and sorted us out throughout the holiday..2 mins to the bars and 2 mins to the beach..we all enjoyed it so much the boys will be back in town

Family run hotel, very friendly. " No Problem "

Just returned after two weeks at the Ionis. The hotel is fine. My first impression was that the room was a bit on the small side, but it did have air con, a tv and a fridge, a balcony, and en-suite shower and loo, and was cleaned regularily. What makes the hotel is the staff (almost all related) who are very friendly. Toni, the guy who runs the pool bar, is a top bloke. The beer in the hotel bar is pretty cheap, and the continental breakfast is good. One word of warning, and this is not in any way associated to the hotel. But outside the hotel, one the main road, there is parked pretty much every morning an oldish mexican looking bloke stood by the back of his green Astra with the boot open. He will offer his hand to everyone who walks past. You may think he is just being friendly, and even cross the road to shake his hand and enjoy the friendly Greek culture. Unfortunately if you do this then he won't let go of your hand (or your female friend's if she happens to have followed you across the road). After some small talk about the weather and asking your names he will proceed to load you up with do-nuts, which you think are free, but when you turn to go (still thinking he is a friendly greek chappie) he will try and charge you 500D per do-nut. It can be rather dificult getting him to take them back once he has put them in your hand so I advise ignoring him, or making a more appropriate hand signal. He is a con man and this one episode was the only unpleasant experiance in the whole of my two weeks holiday. (oh, and don't have a kebab - no matter how under the influence you are!!!)

Well I am one of Donna's 5 friends, I totally agree that you would be struggling to find a hotel that is better situated in Laganas. All the staff were really lovely and made our stay really enjoyable! Never made breakfast either but some of the girls made it a couple of times and said it was good. A great holiday & nice friendly hotel! Can't wait for September when Donna & I return to do it all again!!!!!

Been in Zante for 2 weeks. Myself and 5 of my friends stayed here. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Laganas. It is situated in the main street, about 30 seconds walk to the pubs and about 1 minute walkt to the beach. the staff were brilliant especially Toni who worked at the pool during the day. Can't comment on the breakfast food as I was always just coming in at that time. Beware of Niku (nightly reception guy), a couple of nights tried to get a bit too friendly.
