Hey! Myself and my boyfriend are going to stay in the Ikaros Hotel on the 25th to the 1st Aug. We cant wait! Can anyone tell me what the pool is like there and roughly what the temperature will be?

Cant really comment on the hotel cos I never actually went in any of the rooms. I worked in the hotel bar 'chicago rock cafe' this summer and the place is a good laugh! Pete and Mike are genuinly nice guys and nikos is fab. Miss working there with Laura, Jason and Jenny. We used to have such a laugh. (Tell them about kareoke, killer pool, cocktails-cheapest bar in Laganas)

why is the picture of the ikaros hotel not the ikaros hotel but the poseidon beach where i stayed this july?

hellooo,my boyfriend and i are stayin in the maria apartments,which is a sister apartment of the ikaros,just wondering what maria's is like,is it close to ikaros?goin on 7th of sept,really lookin 4ward to it!!!

BEWARE the journey back from the airport is going to be the worst experience you are going to come across!! we had to stand for 1hour 30 mins outside the airport in the baking heat to check our luggage in, once we had done this much to our suprise we were sent back outside to queue to get through passport control we were told this would take between 10 and 15 mins, it actually took an hour! so a total of 2 and a half hours standing outside cooking alive!! make sure u take ur high factor cream 4 the airport alone u will need it!! airport is so stuck in the dark ages email us at minniemoo158@hotmail.com if u need further assistance we will be pleased to answer any questions to help u all out!!!

the breakfast supplied at the hotel is disgaceful, a meagre roll 1 slice of a cheaper looking kraft single, a sweaty piece of ham and a glass of boiling fresh orange(supposedly) beware of the boiled water for the cup of tea aswell as this was found to have many unknown particles swimming in it!(needs to be de scaled).

hello me and my girlfriend have just returned from a 1 week stay at the Ikaros. We was situated on the top floor and found it impossible to get any sleep at all as the room was not air conditioned and extemeley HOT at all times, there was not enough fans for all guests, and could not obtain one until our 5th day and was of little help in the heat, we couldnt leave door open 4 the risk of getting bit to death by the mosquitos!! room was very basic and very hollow therefore echoing every noise!! if anyone wants to know more please email us at minniemoo158@hotmail.com cheers

we have just got back from a 2 week stay at the ikaros hotel. everything was really goood and the owners are really friendly. we had a great holiday and will be definatley be returning. y does everyone like jenni the scottish wierdo. when we sat down for a quiet drink on the first day coz we were knackered she took my glasses off me and started running around the bar, attention seeking and singing. we didnt even know the women.she is so f**kin annoyin!!! we hit the strip every night its crazy! go to medousas the barmen are nutters.

Anyone who has just come back from the Ikaros is there building works going on around the pool and is the resturant shut please help

i went to ikaros 2 times last year you can get fans from the reception mike the owner is really nice amd you can exchange your money at reception the leather shops are really great and if ou go down the strip there is a mcdnalds and just out side the hotel there is a cafe called tweeties they do a great english fry up

Is there somewhere local where u can hire fans from as we are taking a new baby with us and seeing as there is no air-con we will need a fan. We are going on July 31st for a week.

Me and my mate Ranj stayed here from 5th - 12th of June. Had an absolutely fantastic time. Hi to Tom (The Yorkshireman) and Jenny (the mad Scot) behind the bar, and Nicko and his greek mate who we had a few late night games of pool with. The hotel is nice and clean, they even go around during the day picking up flower petals so that the don't blow into the pool!! (which is probably the best pool in Laganas.) The only draw back is the heat in the rooms at night. We only had a fan on the ceiling which did the job most nights, but the last one was an absolute killer, especially when you have to fly out the next day.
The breakfasts aren't worth getting up for, a bread roll with some cheese and cold meat and an option for cerial. Well, I can hardly call it cerial, more like cornflakes with no taste. I would opt for having a lie in and going out for something more tasty.
They have a lot of barbeques at night so great for the meat eaters but less good for vegetarians. I would really recommend this hotel for a nice quiet holiday. It is well away from the main strip, yet just round the corner for bars etc.

Hello me & my sister have just got back from staying at Ikaros from Sunday 15th - Sunday 22nd June, we had a really good time & think the hotel woz good & in a really good location - althought it didnt have air conditioning but it wasnt to bad but the breakfast was crap.

Me (Wayne ) & girlfriend (Debbie) have Just come back from Laganas - Ikaros hotel - 15th June to 22nd June and had a great time.
The hotel is clean and very friendly but the top floor of hotel is Very warm, especially as there was a heatwave at the moment, people were renting fans. The daytime receptionist said , in her greek/ english accent "it is like microwave!" We were fortunate as room 24 is on the lower level and these roms don't need air conditioning, they are cool all day and night so you get a good nights sleep! There is also a lizard on room 24 balcony but let it in the room during day as it will eat the mosquitos which are unfortunately all over Zakynthos!

After your night out, get some cheap bottles of Amstel or Mythos (1 euro or 75p) from the 24 hr shop accross the road near 4play bar and take them back to hotel. Receptionist Ramos , the night watchman is great fun but don't forget to take him one too!!! Mention Ramos Bar when you go, he will enjoy that comment. He is Rumanian, his wife is a cleaner at the hotel and she takes their daughter Johanna with her, they are great.

Jenny is crap on Kareoke but she is good fun too. Jenny is the bar scottish barmaid who hosts the Kareoke!!

The hotel is in a great location to walk to main strip for clubbing or 2 seconds away from great bars/ tavernas if you want to take it easy.

The pool is very clean, they vacuum it and the water is blue, not green like some hotels i have been too. Loads of sunloungers too so no need to get up early with your towels.

I mixed bunch of people go to this hotel, mainly families and couples and a few same sex groups but not the roudy type! We met loads of friends - hello to Dave, Dave, Dave, Hazel and Alex, also Simon and Gary( THey need the Alcoholics anonymous after their holiday)Lynne & steve and finally Ramos and family.

The airport is crap - small room with one carousel on arrival, on departure the reps queue you up in the car park to check in then que you outside for passport control. So take plenty water as you wait around in the heat for atleast an hour both ways, also the departure Lounge has 1 cafe and their prices are a rip off so take some butties!!!

Enjoy your holidays - we certainly did!!

just arrived home after a fab 2 weeks holiday, we have met so many nice people, especially jenny and tom behind the bar my little girl fell in love with jenny. georgia says a big hi to yannis!we would love to go back there the hotel and facilites are very good espeically for children, the coctails are really good. we met loads of brill friends, the claires, richard, ruth and stuart. take care lots of love caroline, ross and georgiaxxxxx

Hi there everyone!! I have stayed at the Ikaros 2 times previously and am back there 13-27th July with sum good buddies!!
The hotel is and rooms are clean and tidy and only fault would be no 'real' aircon...although you get a kinda airconditioning box but it dont really help..
The pool/bar is brill with a fab atmosphere during the day and suitable for singles/couples and familys...The location is ideal as well.. within good walking distance from the beach and the main strip for the bars etc! Have fun everyone ;0)

i went twice to the hotel in june and august and could not fault the area the staff or clenliness. the best place i have ever been and would deffinatly return. jo the rep was so helpful and friendly she could not have been better love leanne

Just got home from a great week's holiday at the Ikaros hotel. Our daughter Zoe really enjoyed the fuss made over her by all the staff, especially Jenny. Our holiday rep, Jo Pincott was fantastic.

Back nearly a week now and had a great time, rooms clean and Chicargo bar friendly (mad Doncaster and Scottish bar maids!!) and a top resort for chillin or partying. Apart form people moaning "Turkey is much cheaper" (what do you expect when the Euro kicks in and everythig goes up about 30-40%!!) great atmosphere by pool!! Top shout to Mark and ADell from Durham..top drinking partners, Mark, hope you've cleared up all that sick!! Yamas!! Matty.

Actual hotel not to bad but needs air con, we had a box in the room that was supposed to cool the room but was a waste of time. The pool area was good with plenty of sun beds but the pool needs cleaning - sand at the bottom and a sun tan lotion oil slick at the top. The Chicago bar is quite expensive and you are supposed to use this if you want to eat or drink by the pool, a small bottle of water 1 Euro (65p) go next door to the supermarket only 30 cents. When they annouce the free BBQ make sure you have at least a 2 course before attending as we got 1 hot dog sausage and a small kebab.

I will be coming to the Hotel 8th September 202 for a week. I picked The Ikaros after seeing many good write-ups on other sites. Really looking forward to hitting Laganas Big-Styleeeeeee along with my good lady. Hotel looks great, peeps sound friendly......bring it on......C U when we get there. Matt & Jayne

Turn down the poolside music?, especially Bryan Adams and Antastasia! Lots more rooms than the brochure stated and literally on the main road!

had a brilliant time! just got back 25th july after 2weeks! really hot! ideal for everyone! met some mad friends and they played 'lilo' wars with our kids in the pool! thanks Jo,Claire,Sam and Tony,brilliant meeting you all! the staff were friendly,keep up the good work Lisa,serving the guests by the pool at night,she recommends 'salt n pepper' taverna for food which is, right out of the hotel,1st left,left again,you can see it from the ikaros looking across the road! she was right,excellent,quality food and very friendly staff! thank you Lisa! my son jordan thought Mike in the chicago bar was brilliant,jordan missed tv a bit but mike put films on for the kids and of course Big brother every night for us addicts! mikes famous line on the microphone was 'cool by the pool'!! thank you for your hospitality mike! anyone going with kids though,i will say theres not much on the island for them to do unless you stay on a complexed hotel,no waterpark or anything,apart from that very nice! airport procedures a joke,we got a cab early,2 checkin desks and lots of brits at once,not much fun! for 10euros it was worth to have a seat in departures before the coaches arrived! Yammos!

In 1995 I worked at the Hotel Ikaros. All I can say is that it is a Fantastic Hotel, Managed by a Fantastic Family in a Beautiful Location. I myself have travelled to many places around the world since working here and I will say they have to go a long way to receive a complete package you get at the Ikaros Hotel. It is great for Families, Singels & Couples. Away from the noise of the main street during the main summer season but close enough not to need transport to reach beach shops bars and wonderful restaurants. Now I have children of my own, I will definitely go back myself. See you soon and enjoy! I fell in Love with the Island and hope you do too....

Hi, I stayed at the Hotel Ikaros in August 2001. I went away with my parents & little sisters. I just thought i'd say that it was a great Hotel. There were loads of friendly people staying there and the staff were friendly. Angie (Our Rep) was the best! She really made us laugh! She was so friendly and got on with everybody. Lee (Worked in the Bar) He was always up for a laugh. Lee got on with the whole family. We're still in touch with him! He sadly doesn't work there any more because his busy travelling but while we were there he was the best! It's a fun and friendly palce to be.

The hotel was brilliant we didnt stay in it but we used the facilitys we have been twice this year we went with direct holidays first (who were great)and then with kosmar (who wernt so good) weve made friends there both greek and english. The direct holidays rep Angela was great she helped us a lot in both holidays .PLEASE SAY HELLO TO ANGELA FOR US IF YOU ARE GOING TO THE IKAROS TELL HER ITS NORMA AND KIM .

Stayed at this hotel in August 2001 had a fantastic time, very clean and the the staff are very helpful. Look out for Lee king of the karaoke top bloke kept the family entertained through out our holiday. Will definitely go back to this hotel.

Just back from the Ikaros on 23rd, very pleased, much better than the brochure, as previous people have said it is very couple orientated but very friendly and all the hotel and bar staff were very helpfull, great location for bars, shops and beach, will definatley be going again. our only complaint was the maids cleaning the room it was either at some unearthly hour when you dont want to be awake or very late in the afternoon when you are wanting your afternoon sleep!!

Second time back breakfasts are a waist of time but for under £3 you can gutbust yourself at Hotlips 100yds away. Everything about this location is brilliant and ideal for any type of holiday unless you want to stay out raving till6am then stay in town. Going back next year because they really do remember you.

Had a superb time at the Hotel Ikaros this summer. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite basic, but that is to be expected. The Chicago bar and the pool provided excellent entertainment. It is in an ideal location, not too close, not too far from the main strip or the beach. Very couple orientated, highly recommended.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Laganas. The Ikaros was lovely. Got a bit of a shock with the view when we first arrived nothing but a overgrown field on the ground floor. Be careful not to leave any valubles on the balcony, i had my mobile phone stolen. The pool is lovely and clean and the Chicago bar is great. Thanks to Angela our direct holidays for helping us to have a great holiday. By the way don't eat in La Marinara (italian) it made me and my girlfriend ill.

excellent hotel clean rooms nice and quiet but crap breakfast chicago bar staff very friendly but fridges not working so warm beer nothing worse beach only 5 mins walk go to blue wave sunbeds and meet jimmy the casanova also fatsos next door eat has much has u like only 2500 dracmas only one problem with hotel guests a clan from north wales called bakers very loud and noisy and always singing welsh songs first thing in the morning to our wonderful rep angela

The Ikaros was very good and we all enjoyed our stay the only thing we had to complain about was the drinks from the Chicago bar they weren't chilled and there is nothing worse than a warm beer, but apart from that we would definately stay there again. I would like to commment on how friendly and helpful the Kosmar rep Nicole and Direct Holidays rep Angela were, they were brilliant.

We had a fantastic time at the Ikaros - its clean, the pool and facilities are excellent, and its close enough to the beach/bars/restaurants but far enough away to get a decent nights kip. breakfasts were awful, but the Chicago bar has an extensive breakfast menu at cheap prices. We would definitely go to this hotel again.

We had a fantastic time at the hotel. Fabulous pool and bar. Staff very friendly in the Chicago bar. Breakfast was rubbish but we never got up in time anyway! Will definitely go there again.

Brilliant hotel, lovely pool, clean rooms, great location for all the bars and restaurants - what more could you ask for!! Would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Laganas - see you there next year!

Further to Big Al's comments, I would like to add i also was one of the BAD BOYS! We had a quality holiday, hotel Ikaros is very pleasant and the staff very friendly. In particular the girls from Chicago Bar adjacent to hotel Ikaros. Jody (Very Fit), Laura (Not bad either) and the northern one we named BEEF - Ken (Speedo/Dodd) Wood and mostly definately would. We had a quality laugh with the Cow Girls from Ipswich and also with the Essex girls - but I would like to confirm the BAD BOYS won the war! ha! ha!. Myself and big Al would like to return to Laganas very soon and would most definately stay at Hotel Ikaros. Ps Big hello to Natasha from the hotel and Jody from Chicago bar. Laters J

We got called 'Bad Boys' by the staff after nearly getting thrown out after 2 days. The Hotel and Chicago's bar was great, all the staff were really friendly and thanks to the Essex Girls and the Cow Girls from Ipswich for some entertaining battles.

Just got back from 2 weeks at this hotel. We had a 1st Floor room overlooking the pool. The room had a shower, bath and best of all a ceiling fan.The room was very clean and would recommend the hotel to any1. Breakfasts were basic but we enjoyed them all the same. Plenty of bars and restaurants locally without having to go into the resort centre (which is about 20 mins walk).

Although the rooms were basic, they were very clean. Breakfasts were basic but you don't expect anything more in Greece! Pool and Chicago bar excellent. Bars and clubs no more than 10 minutes away (beach also only about 5-10mins away) - but hotel far enough away to have a good nights sleep!! Try Rumours Cocktail Bar - excellent cocktails, good music, great staff! All in all a fantastic holiday - would definitely go back again!

WE DIDN'T STAY AT THE HOTEL BUT, WE SPENT MANY DAYS BY THE POOL AND IN THE CHICAGO BAR (SAY HI TO JOHN).THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND THE RESORT IS FAIRLY QUIET AND I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT TAKES 15MINS TO WALK TO THE BEACH WHEN WE TOOK TEN MINS STROLLING.WE BOUGHT FOOD THERE INC BREAKFAST AND WE FOUND IT WAS VERY GOOD.GO FOR THE HAPPY HOUR AT THE CHICAGO BAR AND TRY THE COCKTAILS FOR JUST OVER A POUND (700DX) THEY'RE EXCELLENT !!!!!

Vicky- Not sure about breakfasts, but greek hotel breakfasts are pretty basic at the best of times! The resort centre is about 15 mins walk away, but there are plenty of bars / clubs / restaurants on the way. Some good restaurants close by aswell. Beach is also about 15 mins walk away, but also plenty of pools in between and at the Ikaros.

We are going to this hotel on the 26th August Can anyone tell me what it is honestly like!! Are the breakfast really awfull? do you have to walk miles to the beach/bars Any info would be great! Thanks

Im leaving for Laganas and the Ikaros Hotel on 31st May. This will be my first time in Greece, so what is the hotel and resort really like for a 21year old student and his girlfriend?

The bar and entertainment were fine, but the rooms were a bit shoddy. The first one we got had faulty taps and a cracked bath, so we got moved to another on the lower ground floor, which was so damp that the sheets were clammy. The breakfast was a slice of spam and a lump of bread or awful cereal so we didn't bother, all in all we would have been better off staying in self catering and using the bar here, like lots of other people we met. Okay if you have really low expectations.

My girlfriend and I are desperately trying to get back into this place - it was fantastic last year. We had 2 weeks of bliss - beach and main bars about 15mins walk away, however fatsos just around the corner (eat and drink as much as you can - run by canadians - SUPERB). Oh by the way I am 21 - it is really good for young and old alike.
