Contessina Hotel

yay im going tomorrow morning at 8.15!yahoooo!cant wait!

Had a fab holiday in Tsilivi, came back at beginning of August.  Hotel was clean and in a good posiiton.  The only think that lets the Hotel down is the choice of breakfast and the bar staff, especially the young girl who works there, she is extremely rude and clearly does not like her job.  However we did not stay in the Hotel at night, the resort was good, you could have it busy or quiet.  The Ark Bar was great fun, especially at the bar area.  Nico and George are the best bartenders I have seen in a long time and really good fun. Most of the restuarants were good.  Our favourite ws Monos Grille, definately worth a visit.  The beach area was basic, however the sea was great, you could go out for miles and is very safe.  Sunbeds were not too expensive, we only got charged for two beds and an umberella, although we had three in our party. The watersports are expensive, probably because there is no competition for them.  The day trip to the ship wreck with Captain Spiros was not the best value for money, and we did not get to see the Blue Caves because the sea was a little choppy, however Captain Spiros himself is a great guy. Rather pricey to see an old tankard.  Not quite what we expected.  Overall had a fab holiday and everyone was very friendly.

hi, me and my boyfriend are going to the contessina at the end of Aug for 2 weeks. By the sound of your comments it should be great, but were arguing over how much to take! for two weeks i think we should take around £1500, he only wants to take £1000. how much did you lot take out and was it sufficient? (bear in mind were big eaters and drinkers!lol!)

we thought the hotel was really wicked!

the rooms were really clean and tidy, and our maid mary was fab! really cool lady!

eva... we thought you were really nice, but didn't like the others, especially dennis! he was the down fall of our holiday when he started shouting at us when he gave us the wrong key number! which wasn't our fault!

there was nothing us we could complain about at the hotel, the pool was lovely, and where the hotel was placed was lovely, right near the bar we loved.. utopia!

i stayedi n admirals last year, and the hotel was nothing compared to contessina!

Just came back from first time in Zante and l would recommend the Contessina to anyone and everyone.. The location is brilliant as it is five minutes walk to the beach and based near enough to the main road for access to shops and cafe's!

p.s watch out at the airport as it's tiny and you may spend a large chunk of your hol waiting for your bags and then your plane

We found the Contessina to be a very clean hotel with very friendly staff.

This was our second time in tsilivi this time there were ten of us staying at the Contessina from June 24th to July 8th. We loved it the rooms were clean and the staff friendly. Dennis the barmen was great we all loved him always good for a laugh.The quiz and bingo on friday night was ok we did win a few euros and a bottle of wine for winning the quiz. Tuesday night was the karaoke some of our group got up and had a go and there were some good singers that got up i was very impressed, people were just getting up and having a go thats what its all about and not competetiveand the second week was even better we took over the place we had great fun and didn't want to go home. Deffinatly go back and stay there again. Just one downside the air con and frifge should be in with the price.

Air con is 6 Euros per night, I think the hire of a fridge is the same. Fans are 3 Euros per night. We got back yesterday and really needed the air con !!

Could you tell me how much the air conditioning cost is per day at Contessina in Tsilivi.

Just returned yesterday from our first stay in the Contessina Hotel (Not our first stay in Tsilivi) - Excellent Hotel - Great location - Great Pool and Gardens - Rooms basic but quite roomy (No tea making facilities Rose but plenty of sockets to use your own kettle) - Great staff, so friendly especially Dennis the Menace in the pool bar at night. Small moans - Showers in rooms are very small and nearly impossible to set in the right direction or get to the correct temperature, breakfasts are very repetitive i.e. cheese and ham every day! Additional rentals are expensive (safe deposit boxes, fridges, air conditioning etc.) But the good points definitely outweigh the bad points and we will definitely use this hotel again.

i have been to this hotel before and enjoyed very much. My parents are coming with us this time, but we would like to know if there are tea making facilities in the rooms, i can't remember if there was or not. Thanks Rose.

 Hi we have just come back from staying at the contessina hotel.  Location is great. staff are lovely. nice bar area, lovely pool area....would expect it to be quite busy in summer. Very clean. Air con availble,safety deposit etc. Lots of bars / tavernas/restaurants in immediate area. about 10 min walk/stroll to main centre....would definately stay here again.  Hoping to come back in sept... 

Visiting the Contessina Hotel in May. Can anyone provide the exact location? I know where the Minor Resteraunt is on the corner of the main road and the road down to the beach! where is it from there?

We spent two weeks here at the end of septmeber into October and it was great. The weather was brill and the local food was lovely. The hotel was very clean and friendly, so much so that we are going back next year for our silver wedding.

We spent two weeks at the beginning of September at the Contessina and really enjoyed our stay so much so we have already booked up for next year!! The hotel is clean,friendly and the breakfast is good.The pool is large and clean.A perfect location for the beach and night life.

Our holiday here was great - hotel is so clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Evening barman Dennis is a lovely guy, we still keep in touch with him!! Location is so central too, only two minutes from the beach and the 'town centre', yet not too noisy at all. Hired a quadbike and toured the island - beautiful!! Will be back!

Are there many bugs/midgeys/nats etc?, I am prone to being bitten! -does anyone have any info if there are lots of them?! and if so, information on good repellents and bite soothing creams etc? Please let me know, we are going next week! Thank you :-)

the summertime bar is roughly half way between the zante maria & the contessina, the nearest restaurant to the contessina is the menir, excellent.if you want anything a bit more lively try the two brothers bar.

the zante maria hotel is about 5-10 minutes walk away from the contessina if you go along the beach. the contessina is about 100 yards from the beach.

Just got back from a week at the Contessina, what a fantastic week, looking forward to going again next year. A Thomson Gold award every year since 1999, well deserved. Tavernas well worth a visit, Manos, Koukos and Maina and if you want a very friendly welcome, visit the Gelato cafe.

Back on the 4th June for 2 weeks , can't wait

This hotel was basic, but the staff are very helpful and it is very clean.
Beware if you are wit Thomas Cook though... We took off from UK at 00.30 and arrived at 07.30 (on-time) and they charged us for the night before at the hotel, because we booked in before 11am!!!
In our opinion, if you can use the hotel with another operator it would be worth doing.

Booked well inadvance asked for a QUIET hotel, but what we got was a noise, I would like to say it was music but all I could hear was the banging of the bass. This Hotlel was NOT quiet. The Hotel was beautiful, and so clean you could [if you feel inclined] eat off the floors. Rooms were basic but good. Breakfast super.Was a bit upset at the price of the air con 70 euros, this was on top of the price for the safe. came to over £140. Bloody lot to pay when you get there find out its not what you wanted anyway. They did offer to move us but we would have had to pay lots lots more just to move.and not got the money back on the safe etc. If you dont want to walk far on an evening its great as the bars and restaurants are just around the corner. BUT with this in mind SO IS THE NOISE. The Hotel plays the music loud even when the bar is empty. One night it was 20 past 2am before they turned down the noise. Please Thompson don't sent people there if they want a quiet holiday because they just wont get it.
Tsilivi is a beautiful resort and we have been many times to it but this time we didn;t get what we booked, paid for, or expected.

Just back after spendng two weeks at the hotel. Had a great time! Short walk to the beach which is really safe for kids as the water is shallow till you get quite a way out. Had to pay for air con 70 euros for 2 weeks. Note: you can hire a fridge at approx 60 euros for 2 weeks which I didn't think you should have to pay. restaurants were fab especially Athena in Tsilvie town. Bars: Two brothers- laff a minute! Moped hire from Theos rentals round corner from hotel had a great time zipping around the island. Would recommend local trips to go see Blue caves and shipwreck. All in all had a lovely time and would go back.

A very clean and tidy hotel. A little off the beaten track perhaps, but plenty of restaurants nearby and only 5 minute stroll to the beach. Be aware though, the breakfasts here at at best average taht apart though I would recommend the hotel.

it is a really lovely hotel. it is very clean and the maids are excellent.
the rooms are lovely and spacious. the pool is big and there is lots of room.
i would suggest you get the air conditioning. it is 70 euros for two weeks and you can control it yourself.
i would go back again.

I stayed at the Contessina in september 2002.we were a family of 12 and every one had a brilliant time.The staff were always very nice, even with a hangover.Anastasia is a star, she was always busy but always had time to interact with the guests**I would recommend "the Contessina hotel" to anybody and look forward to going back next May Ann

Our first trip to Zante. The hotel was spotless and we had a lovely quiet room at the back of the hotel which suited us fine. Staff were helpful and friendly. The first night there they had a Greek Night which set the mood, It was very good value for money at 12 euros.
The beach was close by and very clean. The sea was fantastic and shallow for a long way out, so very safe.

Tsilivi has something for everyone. Restaurants generally had the same menus on offer. Of them all NEMESIS was by far the best. It is in a class of its own.

The holiday was really good. However,you must be prepared for the rather chaotic arrangements at the airport when you return. It is too small, but they are increasing the terminal facilities. In the meantime, be patient! It is lucky the British are used to queuing!

I was the rep in the contessina last summer.
The procedure is, you will have to check out of your room at 12am. You could either pay to keep your room on longer, i don't remember how much,it was farely cheap, or you could leave your luggage in reception, its safe.
Hope you have a great holiday, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff are excellent and the pool is wet. You'll have a great time.

We arrive at the Contessina Hotel at approx 07:30am on Sunday 30th June and leave the Contessina for the airport at approx 04:00am on Monday 7th July and we are a little concerend about having to be out our room by 12:00pm on Sunday 6th July which wouldn't be right as we have paid for 7 nights so Sunday 6th July should be our last night, don't fancy hanging around the reception with our luggage and without a room for 16 hours !! Can anyone who has been on a late flight and stayed at the Contessina tell me what happened regarding the room on their last night.

i went there with my family, it was a great place with friendly staff beach was about 5 mins away and its dead clean with watersports aswell. Its a little walk to all the bars and restaurants, i recommend level bar and the Nemesis restuarant.All round a great place to stay and drinks are well cheap!

we are going to zante in july and want to know what are the best places to eat and the best bars for a goon night out and can anybody recommend any good days out

Hotel was great if a bit empty of an evening at the bar. Best rooms are Pool facing.

do not get a room facing the bar the music was very loud, you need to take your own tea bags, and when we were there, there was nothing going on in the evening. we went late august early sept,
nice place to eat is right on the beach out of the hotel and right down to the beach, on the corner. Nice to watch the sun go down there too.
beach is great the water very clean, and I hope to go back this year same time same place....

Great Holiday here! Staff were friendly and Terry, Anastasia, Tossos were great... Girls in reception were nice. Pool is great and food is good. Met some great people and to think this time last week I was sitting by the pool with a Pint of Ice Cold Amstel.

Very nice hotel in a good location, about 5 mins from the beach and a short walk to the main road through. All the staff were extremely helpfull and friendly. The Hotel itself was kept very clean and tidy. Air conditioning is available in about 75% of the rooms and costs 60 euro for two weeks. Pool area is good with plenty of sunbeds so no need to get up extra early to get your towel down. Breakfast which is included is basic (cold meat/cheese/egg/cerials/fruit/cofee/toast) but sets you up for the day. All in all one of the best hotels I have stayed in.

Andrew - To book the hotel you will have to phone them direct (try international directory enquiries)or book through a tour operator (Thomson use the hotel i think) which will probably work out a lot cheaper. Flights will be included in the Thomson package, or else book through a travel agent in the UK, as you can't book UK flights from here.

i want to go to hotelcontessina next year i went in 2001 but want to book direct for 4 adults 2 in a room adjoining with air con,we would like bed and breakfast,two weeks in june or early sept 2003 also we would like to hire jeep for 1or 2 weeks.and can you recomend flights from u.k manchester.

Hotel is about 3 mins walk to the beach, and close to the Hotel Mediterranee if you know where that is!!! It is good quality for Zakynthos hotels, which means basic but comfortable, and nicely furnished.

Hi, booked Contessina from 7th July 2002 for 2 weeks - me, my husband and our daughter who will be just 6. Anyone got any info on this hotel - been to Tsilivi before for our honeymoon - excellent time so can't wait for July. We always go with JMC and they are usually really good especially the reps -wouldn't go with anyone else now - Becky Lothian

My friend and I had a super time in Zante from 30.8.01 - 6.9.01 but be warned, JMC state in their brochure that the Contessina Hotel has air conditioning. It does - what they do not say is that you have to pay 1000 drachmas per night for it!! We are in the process of trying to get our money back. And the JMC rep. was totally useless although he admitted that this problem had arisen before.

Both myself and my fiancee had a lovely holiday at the Contessina. The holiday was a surprise Birthday present for my fiancee and I was so pleased that we found the hotel to be even better than I could have hoped. The rooms were clean and fresh, the reception area well tended and the staff friendly and helpful. Will definately go back.

The staff where excellent, the barman Tossos was a good laugh and new what he was doing Yiota deliverd the perfect meal for lunch Anastasia was lovely behind the bar in the day. The girls in reception exellent holliday excellent.

Absolutely wonderful hotel with very comfortable rooms and the friendliest staff you could wish to meet. Tassos the barman is a law unto himself in the nicest possible way.
