Plaza Hotel

My husband John and I stayed at the Rania Apartments in May 2002 but used "Georges" all the time. The hospitality received was so good that we are going back in September of this year. Can't wait to see everyone. x

Me and four of my mates are coming to Plaza II on the 7th August 2003, you will know it's us as were Essex Boys! Look forward to seeing Racheal and her friends out there even though it will be only be for a few days!

Going to Plaza II in mid July for two weeks can anyone tell me whether you have to be up early to get a sun bed, also the wife loves her sunday roast any suggestions.

3 girls coming to stay at Plaza 2 on 8th June & we cant wait. Read most of the reviews and the apartments sound lovely. We are up for a laugh but we can be quiet when we want. See you all out there.

Plaza II is fantastic but a word of warning dont go to the China Town all you can eat Chinese buffet unless you like meat & veg mixed with some sauce that both looks and tastes like DIRTY DISH WATER

Came home on the 22nd of May after a fantasic fortnight at PazaII
We had such a good time yet again that yesterday (23/05/03) we booked to go back next may.As usual the room was spotless and cleaned daily.Had a bit of a leak on the sink in the bathroom which was dealt with quickly.George and Giota are the nicest people anyone could wish to meet and the Plaza complex is the best place i have stayed at on Zante.Will see all you regulars next year so be good if you cant be good be careful all the best

Hi all, am jetting off to Laganas on Thursday 22 May. And my partner Chris and I will be staying at the Plaza II for 2 weeks!! Am really looking forward to it and I have heard lots of good things about the accommodation and the surrounding area!!!!! Look forward to meeting George and Giotta!!!! Will post lots of photos on this website on my return as there isn't any photos of any rooms inside the Plaza II or the beech!!

Just got back from staying at the Plaza II and I have to agree with everything that people have said about these apartments. It has got to be one of the best holidays we have ever been on, and thats thanks to George and family and also Yannis, Vicky and anesty, and I musn't forget Jenny in the kitchen who makes the best Greek salads on the island!
If anyone is staying in Plaza I this year you'll be glad to know they are opening the bar at the pool there, (thats if the Greek builders ever get it finished) so no need to walk to Plaza II for a drink any more.
A good restaurant to go to is Romios which is just round the corner from the Plaza, the food is fantastic and quite cheap too. If you like pizza try Mamis across the road from Romios. They do all you can eat for ten euros, and what ever you don't eat you can take home.
I know you will have a good holiday staying at the Plaza, we are trying to go back in September but they are so busy it looks like we'll be at a different hotel but I'm sure we'll spend most of our time at Georges bar.

I am about to book a family holiday staying in the Plaza II. Has anybody stayed there within the last 6 months. If so what is it like?. Can anybody recommand this accomadation?. This will be my 1st trip there and I am unsure about this appartment. I have sent an e-mail to George, but he has not responded. Can you help please do I stay here or go to Plaza II?. we have stayed in other apartments in laganas over a number of years but Georges place(plazaI&II) ARE BY FAR THE BEST. In an excellent location any problems (which are very unlikely) are promptly dealt with by George and his family they are the most friendliest owners we have stayed with you can't beat them we still see repeat guests at the apartments some of us going up to three times a year the only problem with that is George's place as we call it has become so popular with us all that you have to book as soon as you get home to go back we have got 2 wks in june as that is all that is available until october and we have only just come back! Looking forward to seeing George Giota and the family again only 15weeks to go and counting.

We stayed at the Rania which is across from the Plaza in May/June 2000, but spent most of our time at George's place. It was probably the best holiday we have had, in fact we went back later that year, in September because we loved it so much. We are planning to go back in June this year (2003)

George and his family are the most welcoming people we have every met abroad and they really made our holiday. The atmosphere is brillant. One night we played bingo, I've never played bingo before - it was hilarious - George ask me to call the numbers. I got them all mixed up, the beer googles that I was looking through didn't help.

The pubs are great, a lot of cocktail bars and the clubs are pretty good to. Although they can be a bit cheesy, but cheesy in a good way. Medousa Cocktail Bar is a smart trendy bar, the kinda bar you can get dressed up for.

We went out with the reps one night on a fancy dress pub crawl, what a laugh, when we went back in the September the rep's were still talking about us. It was a memorable night

There is a beautiful restaurant up the hill - Akropilis - it is amazing. Across from Cozy Corner, walk up towards the Napoli Italian Restaurant (Which is also amazing) keep walking up around the winding roads, you will come across the Akropilis, it's about a 5 - 10 minute walk up hill, but it's well worth it. The Ruby is also fantastic - both Chinese & Indian food.

Zante, and Laganas in particular has everything that we look for in a holiday. It was brillant.

My mum and dad have also stay at the Rania, although they spent most of their time at George's, they loved it to. It's suitable for all ages groups.

Difinitely reccommend it to everyone. Wish people would stop reccommending it, I can't get booked for June 2003

Though we were staying at the Rania across the road we spent most /nearly all our time at George's place it was so relaxed. George & Giota are the friendliest people anyone could wish to meet.We enjoyed it so much our plane landed at 6.20 pm on sunday the 20th of oct and we had booked 2 weeks at Plaza 2 by lunch time on monday the 21st of oct and will arrive on the 8th of may 2003 .

We have just come back from Plaza II and we have had a great time. We definatly will be visiting again and recomend it to everyone. The Apartments are very clean and the atmosphere is very friendly.

Just came back on Thursday 4th July, and I must say that the Plaza 1 and the Plaza 2 apartments are xellent. I stayed in the P1 which was very clean, perfectly located and I am already booking up for next year. The apartments are owned by one of the friendliest families in Zante which adds a personal feeling to what was a superb holiday. Just 1 min to the beach and 2 to the main strip of bars. Check out The Must bar, Cocktails and Dreams, Waikiki, Bad Boys, Pink Panther and many others, they nearly all come highly recommended. I suggest that if you want to see the Turtles, then you go out on a pedalo, the same price as the trip but less of a danger to this protected species. We went out at about 5.30pm on a pedalo and saw about 8 turtles :) Simply one of the best holidays I've had. Bad points, if you are an animal lover, then be prepared to see some sad sights of the stray dogs tied up in 90 degree heat, a tin of dog food wont cost you much ! and the only other thing is that the sand isn't particularly nice due to cars and bikes being allowed to use the beach as a short cut. Check out Michaels Place, The Ionian ? and Frutelli and Taso's for some xellent food, as well as many of the Greek Tavernas. The food in restaurants is cheap but they make the money on the cost of the drinks, so try and drink bottled water when dining (leaves you more money for drinking later on !!) Have a gr8 time, and say hi to George, his wife, his son William, and daughter Constantina for me....not forgetting their dog Arris, and Dimitri the general handy man !! Check out George's Greek night, the dancers are fantastic and George and son put on a gr8 performance too :) Enjoy, hope I've helped you !!

We stayed here the first week of may. George and the rest of his family could not have been more welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. When we asked Vas to recommend a restaurant not only did he give us the directions he drove us there himself!! We had a karaoke night after we drunkenly suggested it and they got a dartboard as well after another guest suggested it. We have already booked to go back next June and cant wait! Excellent location, delicious food and the cocktails are by far the best we've had. See you next year George

Plaza I is excellent for location. 2 mins from beach, 5 mins from the nightlife. Restaurant, I cannot remember the name but it does both Chinese and Indians, excellent again. I have just spent a week at the Plaza I.

Plaza 1 seems in a state of neglect to Plaza 2 which is ok the view over the waste ground to Plaza 2 and the building site next door is not good also lots of mossies when its humid come out of the overgrown undergrowth thought the owner would have cleaned this up before guests started to arrive

Have been to George's twice and are intending to go back again in October. The BBQ's are excellent as is George and Giotta's hospitality. The bar is Greece's answer to 'Cheers' and I challenge you to work your way through George's EXTENSIVE cocktail list. You need to take a football scarf/t-shirt from your area with you to hang in the bar and leave as a momento. By the end of season, it's good reading! Although the accommodation is quite basic, it's spotless. Easy crawling distance from the beach and main strip. Ideal for both family and couples who are looking for a good laugh and a relaxing week or two. By the end of the holiday, you'll know everyone there, and they'll know you. See you in October!! FAO Hayley Kalimaki is about 1/2 hour walk along the beach. However, Laganas is the best place to be as there are a lot of bars clubs etc. Kalimaki is a bit boring with just one restuarant/bar on the beach. Hope this helps.

I am staying in the Plaza 11 in May for a week. Could anyone please tell me if it is close to Kalamaki? Or is it at the other end of Laganas if you know what I mean? I've heard the beach at Laganas isnt good...and I really want a nice holiday. Is it close to Kalamaki??? Thanks

Hello to George & Giota!! No matter which one you stay in, Plaza 1 or 2, you will have the best holiday. The BBQ is delicious, eat all you want for 500drc, kids eat free!! Going back again this year, book through George directly if you can, then all you need is a flight over there, which is much cheaper all round :) We were there when England beat Germany, what an atmosphere, was in Zero's bar and everyone was going wild! Even my wife was joing in :) No matter what you have to do to get there, Just Do It. Do it NOW!

Everyone has mentioned the Plaza II, but what is The Plaza I like. Is it just as good as Plaza II

Just got back this morning, already talking about going back for one of the girls hen party weekend George is brilliant and Dimitri is a smooth talker, great place, great atmosphere, great drinks and food. Lovely dog called Harry.

We've just come back from an excellent holiday at Plaza 2. Turn right out of the apartments and you are two minutes from the beach. Follow the steps by the pool and you are two minutes from the main strip. Location couldn't be better but not noisy if you feel like a quiet nite in! The pool is great during the day - try George's bacon rolls, the best in Laganas! We will definitely be back next year!

Just arrived back from Plaza 2, brilliant position, 2 minutes from beach, 2 minutes from town centre, not too noisy - the bbq on saturday nights is fantastic - say hello to George for me!! Best places to eat are Rubies and a place called Panarama which is up in the hills near Zante town - just get in a taxi & ask.

You can either go through Manos or Direct holidays - I went through Manos and didn't have any complaints!

We went there a few years ago and it was brill, the best place to be. Im going again this year, So watch out the geordie girls will be back. The best club is rescue, but everywhere is go...... Try the Bar along the road from the Plaza, it is great at the owners are lovely.

It took some doing but we`re going back! Went last year decided we were going again on the first day! They are right about the BBQ!

we'v been going to 'georges' for the last 4 years! george is one of the funniest blokes i've ever met,he loves the kids & he can tell you anythink you need to no about zante. Plaza 2 is brill, the pool is excellent & the best barbeque in Greece is held there every saturday night!

Plaza II is wonderful, it really is fantastic. It is run by Georger and his family who are all really nice. We went last year had such a great time that we tried to book again at plaza II this year but it is fully booked from June - August. Its about a two minute walk away from the shops and a 30 second walk to the beach, it's great!! Hope this helps!! Kevin in Leeds
