the only restaurant we used twice during our two week stay

would definitely recomend

  The staff here are more like old friends after so many years visiting them.  Lovely to see Yiannis back after a spell away.  He does a wonderful PR job in getting in the families, the children adore him.  All the staff are polite and courtous and the food is very good value for money.  The spring rolls with chilli sauce are delicious and the special omelettes are great. Always a warm welcome.

(George if you read this, drive more carefully or get a Fiat Panda  or perhaps a bicycle)

We ate here for six nights and it was good food each time cant pick a fave as all were good service quick and always friendly so i guess see you nxt june !!

The Parthenon is not only the best restaurant in Kalamaki - it is the best restaurant in Zakynthos.

p.s. There may only be 2 toilets but they make a good background for photos!!!!hahahaha!

with all the old crew back this year , including the singinng yaniss, it was as good as ever!!!! as for the comments about the toilets  etc [ you are inn greece not the hilton hotel in london] chillout and enjoy !!!!!

We always pay a visit to the Parthenon and have never had a bad meal here, but have had various standards of good.  The service is excellent and the premises clean.

Im saddened to here such comments about the Parthenon,

To Ms Killon,do not know where you usually eat,but if prices are high at the Parthenon try elsewhere believe me you will not get value for money.As for toilet facilities-you will not find cleaner,believe me I have seen them.Yes,I know there are only two but how many can one use at one time?

HAD A NICE HERE BUT IT IS A TAD EPENSIVE, ALSO HAVE TO MENTION THE LOO'S (SORRY), THEY ONLY HAVE ONE OF EACH AND THAT IS THE WHOLE OF THE RESTUARANT WHICH IS QUITE BIG AND THE LARGE BAR NEXT DOOR.  SO GET TO THE FRONT OF THE QUEUE.

Without a doubt one of the best restaurants in Kalamaki, I only ate Greek food and it was fantastic. All the staff are so friendly and make a fuss over the children too.  Well worth a visit.

just returned home from two weeks,was our fifth year of visiting and were so sad.although were so happy to see yianni back where he belongs xx . we ate at the parthenon every night apart from two,its still the best restaurant in kalamaki with the best food,service and the best hunky waiters!! nothing is ever too much trouble,my seven year old loves it here as she adores george and yianni,miss you all soooo much see you in 13 weeks cant wait, special big hugs to georgie xxxxxx

August 22nd 2006 Our 25th Wedding Anniversary, We held the meal at the Parthenon.

George and the gang were brilliant, the food is first class the service even better. They can't do enough for you. They make you feel very welcome like part of the family. Nothing is too much trouble. The layout of the tables for the meal was spot on. If anyone has anything special to celebrate go and see George a few days before and they will cater for everything you desire. I can't reccomend them highly enough

Really liked it here was very nice, service was fantastic and staff very friendly! Food was very nice had breaded mushrooms for starter and had nearly enough to fill me up as a dinner. Spaghetti bolognaise was delicious. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Without doubt the Parthenon is one of the best. You are served a variety of home prepared Greek food at a cost which is affordable.  We have been to Zante for many years and we are never dissapointed when we pay them a visit.  My warmest regards to all the staff we will see you next year.  A special mention to Jani  ' GLAROS' and his lovely lady Joanne.  Thanks for all you do.

This is still our favourite restaurant in Kalamaki  It was lovely to see you all when we were back in Kalamaki in September.  Delicious food, excellent service and lovely staff.   Would recommend the Lamb Kleftico which is my favourite and hubby loves the stuffed beef burger.  Can't wait to see you all next year.

 Ate here for the first time after recommendation of friends. Pork chops grilled to perfection, and HUGE!!! Accompanied by a lovely salad and greek potatoes, gorgeous. Husband had steak, again very good. Would eat here again and have no problem recommending it ourselves

  we ate here quite a few times while we stayed in Kalamaki, couldn't name anything bad about it the whole experience, food (gorgeous) staff (so friendly) value for money (excellent) we just kept coming back for more. Came back from Kalamaki today. Ate at Parthenon 3 times and can honestly say it was some of the best food we have tasted. All the staff were friendly especially Yiannis who made friends with our 9 year old daughter.A great restaurant, would recommend it to everyone

Nice restaurant!! Nice food!! My mum and dad felt guilty afterwards because we had came to Greece and had a Sunday Roast!! It was nice though  !

Yiannis is singing in a bar in Tsilivi this year - we didn't have enough time to track him down.  Anyway the Parthenon is a great place to visit in Kalamki.  The whole family loved it.  Great food serverd in a friendly, informal atmosphere.  It was good to see you again George and Yannis - we will be back next year. 

yannis 3 is singing in a greek dance entertainment in tsivili acording to the other yannis and gang , though where it is i am not sure . we have just got back today but did not have time to track him down as we were to buisy stuffing our faces on all best greek food  we could eat. resort seemed quieter this year but the food and staff were just as good. yamas once again everyone!!!

The food here is GORGEOUS and really good value. We had the specials, which overall worked out at 25euros for 2 starters, 2 main meals (big portions aswell) four drinks and we were given two complimentry drinks of this fruity punch stuff which was really nice! Yum yum!

we were in kalamaki for two weeks in august/september and ate each night at the parthenon.great menu for dead-flesh eaters and veggies alike.as a vegetarian i had the vegetarian hotplate it was delicious. also had the veggie stirfry and the cheese/spinach pies with salad. waiter service, very attentive without being fussy.children warmly welcomed and entertained.

I am a great fan of the Parthenon and have no problems with comments made one way or another However I would poiint out that the food prepared in the Parthenon is prepared daily from FRESH products and I can assure you that if people are not satisfied the staff will do all in their power to rectify the situation so dont be afraid to complain as the management really do appreciate constructive criticism so they can improve their service to you. I have complained and had my complaint dealt with to my satisfaction By the way the food is excellent as my waistline will testify.

Was quite crowded, food was okay, portions quite small. Was worth trying but didnt go back. 

We went to this restaurant having read reviews but were throroughly disappointed.

hi everyone. how are you. am missing you alot. i hope yannis has still quit smoking. i went in to the parthenon every night and i never got bored of it. the food was fantastic with a wide range of vegitarian food available (including the vegitarian chicken lol) and the waiters was so funny. the day i came home i didnt feel like i was home and wanted to come straight back where i felt of a family. hopefully i will see you soon in london (george and spiros) and there is no way i am not coming next year possibly to work for the summer season.so if that washing up job is still available george then you have not my number.   

another restaurant we always visit more than once during our holidays, great friendly service, the country lamb, and lamb chops are lovely, greek meatballs are excellent, great cheesecake for afters, well priced, thanks guys.

A big thank you to all at the Parthenon.  We had three lovely meals here in August and can recommend the Lamb Kleftico and Chicken Slouvaki...both are delicious.  Yianni kept the kids entertained, trying to make Ellie work at the restaurant, by handing out menus when customers arrived and Amy had to spin the menu on her little finger like he does, to keep the customers entertained.  Thanks again, and we'll see you next year.

What a fantastic restaurant, friendly, helpful, attentive, our 10 year old luke would'nt let us eat anywhere else( Hi Yianni, Yianni and Georg, luke is missing you already especially the play fights when you tried to make him pay by taking his shirt off) The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, we did look in at the mermaid but like many things it was overated, noisy and everyone felt crammed in.Not for us we like to relax and feel we are not being hurried. we will definitely see you guy's at the parthenon next year.

What can I say.  We had a really lovely time.  George THE MANAGER and his serving family need to be congratulated especially the dear old boy in the kitchen and the rather lovely cashier.  To all who read this I will tell you that the food in the Parthenon is original and hand prepared from all local produce I have witnessed the actual preparation.  You will without doubt sample a small piece of Greece and I highly recommend it to all.  Thankyou once again to all in the staff see you soon.

hi george (future husband) i really enjoyed every night we spent in your restaurant i must admit you do make good margerita pizza. yannis is honest and lovely very funny stealing laurens drink. babi seemed quiet didnt stop lauren from eyeing him up. family who worked there were very helpful and friendly. but george is absolutely gorgous and very sweet even thou i had swollen eyes from being headbutted on a jucuzi didnt stop george lol i.e ( i have 2 to see the eyes of my wonderful wife) you old charmer you! i will return in 6 years to marry you of course.the only downfall was leaving you and your restaurant and i got dressed up on the last night brad just about to take a picture of us when the worst happens it runs outa batteries how dissapointed was i seeing as the only picture i have is the group picture with me you lauren and babi was when i had a swollen face. ill add the picture as soon as i get time. i hope everyones okay lov ya all amyxx ( big baboo!)

 hi its me. you wont know my name but you will know my face (goerge and yianni trying to cart me off into the kitchen to wash up last year) we come back from our holiday a week ago now and im missing zante very much, even though we have been twice i want to see yianni`s face when i walk doen the street again (that was hilarious). the food was brill, that mix grill greek platter i had a week ago was excellent.enjoy being in zante you lucky buggers p.s. i want to go back to try to get charged all the time ha ha that was funny!!!!

Well, what can I say, spent most evenings here, the service and food was excellent, as was the price. A beautiful Lamb Kleftico, Beef Stifado and also a great Sunday Roast....The kids loved it here, thanks to the all the staff and especially Yiannis, you had the kids in stitches. as it seems you got a point there............but it doesn't matter let the other restaurants say whatever they like!!!   parthenon is the best restaurant 7 years running now (and 26 more in america "chicago" the windy city)...nothing is better then a family restaurant, each part of the parthenon family pleases each and every one of our customers with extra special care every day, mum and dad does the cooking and the preparing every day to make sure all our food is fresh and tasty as always!!!so many years of expirience can speak for itself!

pleasing our customers is our job and we love doing that!!!

Probably won't get the chance to get over to Zante this year but to anybody who is planning a trip I strongly recommend a visit to the Parthenon. Friendly staff who not only serve remarkably well but do their best to entertain. Nothing is too much trouble!

The only bad comments about this restaurant seem to come from the friends of rival restauranteurs.

The best restaurant in the island. We ate there most nights, October last year and can't wait to get back.  Couldn't fault the food it was all delicious - my daughter Emma is veggie and nothing was a bother to make for her - and the Jack Daniels chops are to die for! The waiters were so entertaining and great with all the diners. Only 5 weeks to go - looking forward to seeing you all.

We loved the Parthenon! We visited it in June, the food was amazing and the people extra friendly, George and Yianni are really good with kids, little brother loved going there!

Cannot wait to come over,as you know we arrive end of August and will be making the Parthenon our main venue.Always great service,great food,no problem if you are veggie!Many places boast a veggie menue but not available when you order!But the Parthenon no problem .It is also great entertainment value from the boys.So anyone going to Kalamaki make this your main venue, you won't be disappointed!

Hi George & Joanne, also to Yiannis ( Head Boy), Yiannis 2, George & all the other guys. Thankyou for making us so welcome. The atmosphere and the warmest of welcomes make you the best by far. The food is spectacular and particularly the country lamb (mmmmm).I would recommend you to anyone visiting kalamki.

WE have always been happy with the Parthenon. but this year find they are trying a dirty tricks tactic. They have always been in competion with Mermaids but this yearthey are standing just about outside Mermaids and offering free wine with their meals. This to us was not nice. By all means look for custom but by fair means, we did not go over there this time because of this.

I just HAD to comment on this restaurant, my boyfriend James and I went 5 times during our week in  Kalamaki (last week of June).  It was fab food,excellent quality at v reasonable prices! We loved it, and the service was excellent with friendly waiters.  The 'country lamb' dish is a "must" for anyone who goes there...and lots of other dishes too!! Sally&James June 05

Hi to all at the Parthenon its the Moores here! Just returned from our second year holiday at Kalamaki and again your restaurant was tops especially my friend I beat at pool! Thanks for a fantastic time in your restaurant, this truly made the holiday special.  What can I say about the food, the service and the staff - Exceptional in all aspects.  Even when I tried my best at broken greek the guys put me on the right path. Yamis !!  Forget Mermaids the Parthenon will beat it hands down.

We only ate at this restaurant once during our two week stay but we had a really nice meal there.  It was good Greek food, good value for money and the waiters were very friendly!

Wasn't particularly impressed. My boys liked the greeter, but I felt his charm was very put on and false. Full of raucous parteies of chain-smokers when we visited. Cheapest meal of the holiday, food OK, nothing special.

Tasty mousaka! Lovely cheap house wine too. The service was excellent - the waiters knew when to talk to you and when to leave you alone, and cheekily kept filling our glasses with wine. Excellent!

One of the best restaurants we visited.The food is fantastic and the staff are brilliant! The kids loved their sparkly ice creams.Nothing was too much trouble and despite being really busy we were made to feel the most important people there, as was everyone.

 Whatever you do  DO NOT miss out this restaurant

Hi, our group was known as the george on tour.   just wanted to say that the  parthenon was the best place that we ate out at   and the rose and crown  is excellent, now even more so as my gillingham football shirt is on the ceiling!!!!    Thank you for making us feel welcome and making our holiday the best. xxx  luv  claire.
