 Pedro the owner of Stani's is wonderful, he makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive, and his staff of waiters are almost as good being very friendly and attentive at all times.

not been over for the last 2years so were coming in 2weeks and the first thing we are doing is eating at stanis the best in greece miss the food and pedros see u soon stani

Brilliant place! Only had lunches on the way back from the beach, but as ever, we were made extremely welcome. The staff always remember us and try to teach us a little more Greek every time we go in...which is most days. Petros and the boys will always serve you what you want, not necessarily what's on the menu. Looking forward to our next visit, hopefully October 2007. Thanks to Petro, Pano, and the others for your excellent sevice and attention. Bravo, efharisto poli e tilemmi meta! (apologies for my bad Greek and the bad spelling!)

Have been going to kalamaki for a number of years on and off 5 visits scince 1992, Stanis was the there the first visit and was by far the best, just got back yesterday after a week and stanis is still the best, if you love Lamb you must have the Kleftico, by far the best in the  resort. The staff always friendly and welcoming, and always seem to remeber you from year to year A big thank you to all at STANILAND

 just go and give it a try. depending on where you stay it might be a bit of a stroll but its worth it. The service here is always very welcoming and friendly.  Always had one meal here on previous visits to Kalamaki, this year we have to say the food was excellent. its good value for money (2 small mythos, garlic bread, 2 starters, 2 main courses, 2 sweets, bottle of good quality wine.. all for less than 40 euro, about £28)... we recommend the saganaki oven cheese (best we tasted), roast lamb, mixed grill and especially the baklava for dessert. just as a by the way, the toilets are probably the best in kalamaki! cant rate this place highly enough

Stani Taverna is the warmest, most welcoming place on the island. Just off the beach and out of the main resort, it is the perfect place for a relaxing meal at the end of a hard day in the sun!

it is by far the best restaurant in kalamaki . right by the beach , beautiful views , staff so friendly and helpful , fantastic food ( try the lamb kleftico (not sure if spelt right ) ) . twelve of us visited stanis most evenings and were made very welcome especially the children .

Had a very nice meal here. Started the greek way with garliuc bread and greek salad...nice to share. My moussaka was lovely and was perfect for the evening meal. The house white wine is also pretty good here, though it is a bit weak. The staff were very nice and made us feel welcome at the greek night they were hosting. I would recommend coming here instead of going to the nights sold by the reps!

Had two lovelly meals at Stani' this year, I love the food and the surroundings.  Staff are always attentive and  helpful, well worth a visit if you go to Kalamaki

WHAT CAN WE SAY, THE LAST TIME WE SAW PEDRO AND STAFF WAS 20YEARS AGO FOR MY WIFE`S 40TH BIRTHDAY AT THE OLD STANI..  WE WENT HERE FOR A DRINK AND PEDRO REMEMBERED US FROM THEN.  WE BOOKED A MEAL FOR HER 60TH AND WHAT A MEAL AND NIGHT SHE HAD.  WE CAME WITH OUR 2 DAUGHTERS AND THEIR FAMILIES ON HOLIDAY, AND PEDRO AND STAFF PULLED OUT ALL THE STOPS, AND ALL WE CAN ALL SAY IS THE MEAL, DRINKS, CHAMPAGNE (CAKE A GIFT FROM PEDRO) BRANDIES WAS VERY MEMORABLE.  THE FOOD WAS  EXCELLENT JUST AS GOOD, TOO MUCH, BUT WE ATE THE LOT.  THE VIEWS FROM THE TAVERNA WERE JUST PERFECT.  IF YOU HAD A MEAL IN ENGLAND FOR 6 ADULTS AND 3 CHILDREN, WITH STARTERS, MAIN COURSE, WINE, BEERS, CHAMPAGNE ETC WE WOULD HAVE PAID DOUBLE MAYBE TRIPLE.  LOOK OUT FOR A PARTY PHOTO LATER

WONDERFUL. RETURNED WITH MY MUM AFTER 20 YRS. ( SHE HAD HER 40TH B DAY HERE) AND WE RETURNED AGAIN FOR HER 60TH. MADE SO WELCOME, LIKE PART OF THE FAMILY. THANKS PEDRO FOR MAKING OUR HOLIDAY SO SPECIAL. SERVICE, FOOD, PRICE ALL BRILLIANT. GO CHECK IT OUT FOR A FAB TIME, BELIEVE ME ITS WORTH THE WALK AND TO SEE THE VIEWS.

Hello Pedros and co. After our second visit to the island in september 2005 we again found ourselves at your resturant. We had a blast and guess what we are coming back in may. So cant wait to see you and the rest of the gang in two months time. We arrive on the sunday the 7th so we will be there for the Greek night.

The food at this resturant is great the reason people might leave some is because the portions are so big not cos it is bad food. You only have to read the rest of the reviews to know that this is a lovley place to eat and have a good time.  The staff are amoungst the friendliest people on the island who would do anything (given the opportunity) to resolve any problems should they arise.

We look forward to seeing you all.

   great greek restaurant, we are from ireland and went to kalamaki in may and again in june with our daughters for a girlie week before her wedding, all the staff at stanis are so welcoming and friendly petros. mr.stani, his grandaughter in the supermarket, vicky. we ate there every night and mr. stani gave us a present of a bottle of stani wine on our last night. the food was excellent and the service brilliant,  great greek night on sunday nights going back in september next year, cant wait.  

A group of eight of us (4 adults and 4 children) went to there greek night, this was a wonderful evening and well worth booking, the food was very tasty all the adults choose lamb and the children had spagetti bolognaise, chicken nuggets and pizza, also had wonderful puddings the chocolate cake came in the shape of a mouse and was very tasty, the dancing and entertainment was 1st class and was enjoyed by all of us.  When we ordered our bill it came with a free ltr of white wine which was a bonus, also 15% comes off your total bill so it was very reasonable

VISITED STANIS SEVERAL TIMES AND EACH TIME WE WENT BACK IT JUST GOT BETTER. BREAKFAST GREAT, AND EVENING MEAL WAS SUPERBE. ALSO WENT FOR THE GREEK NIGHT AND EVEN GOT UP DANCING. I FOR ONE WILL SAY THIS WAS THE BEST MEAL WE HAD ON THE WHOLE HOLIDAY WHICH IS GOOD GOING AS WE ATE OUT EVERY NIGHT AND DIDN'T HAVE A POOR MEAL WHILE WE WERE THERE. WILL GO BACK NEXT TIME WE VISIT.

Beautiful views, food and service

Went here the first night of our holiday. My first job after checking in at the Crystal Beach, was to book the Greek nights here. Although we were late booking, we still got a great table.

We ordered Chicken in a cream / mushroom sauce, a couple of Stifados,  a Greek Salad, and a kids sausage and chips. All the food was excellent, along with a few portions of Garlice bread, and a couple of bottles of Wine, half a dozen beers , and four desserts..........we got change from 80 Euros, and the entertainment was 1st class..........I've seen fire dancing at Greek nights before, but never through 4 foot high flames............well if the owner keeps throwing napkins onto the fire !

We first visited Stanis in 2003 and found it to be the best place in the area to eat. The food was wonderful with the most extensive menu we have ever seen. The service was 10/10  all of the staff were extremley friendly and we found ourselves eating there every night in the last week of our holiday. We are going back at the end of 2005 and we cant wait to see pedros and the rest of  the staff at this brilliant resturant.

If anyone knows the name of the hotel that they built recently we would be very grateful as we promised pedros we would stay there when we came back.

My wife Yvonne and our two kids first found Stani about 1990 at the original Stani Taverna.
With Mrs Stani, Rosa and their sons and daughter in law they ran a great place.
We did go back for several years I remember the last time we went to Zante was the first seaon for Stani at the beach bar/restaurant.
Found them all to be absolutely superb, even though one correspondent did remark how Stani used to serve with a fag hanging out of his mouth.
One ambition I have is to sail on my wooden yacht to Zante and anchor off the beach, row ashore and have an Ouzo with the crowd.

We went on the Greek night which was fabulous. Great fun joining in with the dancing and plate smashing!

It's in a beautiful setting and the food is delicious.

During our stay we tried most of the 10/10 rated restaurants. Stani is one of the best and is well worth a visit, a bonus being lovely setting with views of the sea & the mountains. We rated it 9/10.

Stayed in Kalamaki last week and this has to be the best taverna in town.Went here with the family,including 2 young children,and found it so enjoyable we ate here on another 2 occasions.On one occasion we all had the "special" which consisted of garlic bread, small Greek salad for starters followed by a main course of lamb chops,chips and vegetables,all washed down with a complimentary carafe of local wine for a stunning €5.90 each.
Make the effort to walk the 5-10 minutes extra from the main strip and you will be rewarded with the best food,the best service and the best prices. Nice to here Greek background music for a change in this resort,not British Chart music. I holiday to find gems like this, not to be subjected to 'Blackpool with sun'

This was our third visit to beautiful island of Zakynthos. It is seven years since our last visit but on going to Stani's bar, Pedros looked at myself, my husband and daughter and actually remembered us.

Excellent service as usual together with excellent food and although we were staying in Tsilivi we travelled to the "Greek Night" and were given the best table in the house. On our last day, once again we left bearing presents.

A lovely family and will hopefully be staying with Katerina next year.

Words dont describe how good this restauant is, but i'll try anyway. We visited this place twice and the service, views, and even the walk there are excellent, but the food was best(you have 2 try the mussles in garlic butter, fantastic!)
I cant wait till next year when we can visit this restaurant again.

Our tenth year in Kalamaki, and we have been back a week, and missing Zante already. Stani Taverna is our favourite restaurant in Kalamaki. Good food at reasonable prices, and good service by all the friendly staff, who always make us very welcome. Plenty of choice (40 starters). We had several lunches and dinners during our stay, including my birthday. Thank you to all the staff for making our holiday special. Congratulations on winning the cup. See you next year.

Got back a week ago and already miss the food and atmosphere of Stanis. We discovered this little gem on our second week and went back several more times before we came home. Best meals we had throughout the holiday. Lovely walk to it as well in the evening.

The problem with Stani's (and also was Zepo's) it was a good walk from where we were staying, but they were by far the best. The owner came over and explained aboout his dishes, and made some modifications for us,,,,,,,,,

Had lunch here most days, Stani's beach is the best, and great being able to wander up to the taverna for lunch. A must!

Nice place with great views. Food good. Quality of service seems to depend on which waiter you get.

I love this taverna!! perfect for everyone.. playground for the children is a big +.. I loved everything: the food ( i only like chicken filet :) but it was the best ever.. The staff I really "falled in love" with, exellent service. The greek night was altso very good.. We ate there everyday 2 times a day, and then back at tj\he night for drinks.. Stanis beach altso the best.. hehe

Well the pic says it all, we only had a breki here but by how nice that was we couldnt fault it, over looking the sea from one window and the mountins from the others this is a great place to sit, eat and chill. Recomended ************

What a fantastic find this restaurant was! Not only was it warm, friendly and beautifully situated, it had an amazing Greek night! Plus FAB staff!

I am trying to get in touch with Thassos at Stani 2 I am an old friend but lost touch Peter Haugh Bristol.

You can find every kind of restaurant. We spend most of our holiday evenings in restaurants rather than bars and have a meal with drinks so we liked the traditional taverna type restaurants and we have spent from €6 - €12 each for a meal again it depends on where you eat and what type of food you like. My problem is I like it all so had to try them all.

Good food although basic, very friendly staff but a bit lacking in atmosphere because it’s such a large restaurant there weren’t many people in.

Ate at Stani,on the Saturday,Very good food,worth the visit,meant to go on the Sunday to the Greek Night-(Which you must reserve a table in advance).
Good service,good choice of grub.

Along with Dias, one of the best Greek restaurants on the island.

What a lovely place to wander up to from the beach - we had lunch, then went back later from drinks and ice creams - a lovely setting/views

Only went here during the day due to it being the only place to get food at the end of the beach. Howver, the waiter was to put it bluntly rude and no we did'nt go in in are swimming cozies! The food was fine although over priced.

We had 3 meals here, everything just great, Food, Service, and of Course the Wine, well worth a visit.

The location is excellent - beautiful views of the sea. Went here twice as the food was excellent- the lasagne i would particularly recommend! & the chicken in wine sauce was cooked to perfection & very tasty too! The staff were sooooooo friendly, they made the meal more enjoyable & the price was good too. one of the cheaper places to eat but with excellent food and service.

Well what can I say, certainly not 10 out of 10.
Service is a major part of eating out and quite frankly this was shocking.
I suppose we should have guessed something was amiss when the waiter pointed to our table with his fag in his hand!
Food was average as was the price.
Give this a wide birth if you are keen on good service.

all I can say is excellent the family who run it are great the prices are cheap and the food is delicious, this place cares for all taste and even has a safe play area for small children, a free greek night on sundays were all you pay for is your food .The only down fall was, like zepos ,a bit of a walk from our apartment

Only had lunch here (twice). It's a really nice place with views out to sea and hills in land. The food was really nice, my wife particularly liked the club sandwich which was excellent. I had spag bol which was good too. Would have liked to return for dinner but ran out of time. Worth a visit.

We have been going to zante for many years and have been going to kalamki for the last 8yrs Stani is the best I think I have had nearly everything on the menu over the years, but stani moussakka has got to be one of the best.So if you want good service good food and value for money pop into stanis and see for yourself, you can also take in the lovely view of the Ionian sea.

Went here for the Greek night, Sunday. Was a bit more expensive, but the entertainment was worth it! Food was good, and service was good for such a busy night. We didnt book, but there early enough to have a good table to watch the entertainment. It is probably best to book for Sunday night.

Just returned from another 2 weeks in Kalamaki - twice this year. The food is always good, plenty of variety and the service is excellent - waiters are friendly and helpful. Wonderful views over the sea. Booking again for next year. Ros & Roy Holt.

Well worth a visit, the food is excellent the view is great and the service is second to none. Petro and his family go that extra mile to make everyone feel welcome. The Greek night on the Sunday is a must! We have enjoyed their hospitality so much we have returned to the island 4 years running!

Nice location overlooking the beach. Portions were massive. The garlic mushroom starter was big enough for a main course. Main courses were even bigger. We couldn't manage a dessert but when we asked for the bill a huge complimentary plate of water melon appeared. Waiters were very friendly and kept us amused with their antics. P.S. Is the rabbit really that fresh?

just back from 2 weeks in kalamaki. Stani, great food and service. Very friendly people. Even on our last night gave us a bottle of wine, yamas! we recomend it.

The paper tableclothes in the evening was not a good sign, neither was them believing that stacking one patio chair on top of another would be a good, safe substitute for a high chair! I had special kebab which was marinated pork. It was far too dry and tough for my liking. Service wasn't particlarly attentive.

just got back from another 2 weeks in Kalamaki , the first place we made for was the Stani and it was just as good as ever . this place is the BEST

go to Greek night on Sunday (You need to book) it has a restricted menu (and the prices are slightly inflated) compared to the rest of the week. Great food , great entertainment, and the kids can play with the rabbits over the road (Providing you haven't ordered rabbit !)

Excellent food, the moussaka is the best i've had. Cater well for kids and the staff were really friendly. They do a great Greek night which you need to book for in advance, they don't charge for it but they do have a seperate menu for that night with higher prices.
