Stayed at Georgia apartments, avoid room 2, water coming down the walls from the room above and a view of a brick wall and furniture from the balcony, Steph the She Devil moaned every morning and treated us all like children, the lunchtime menu was OK if you like chips or chips or chips. Her party trick is just plain not funny..
The beach was great and a must go resturant if you love good food is The Old Vineyard run by an English Girl and her Greek Husband, the food was excellent and a great view out to sea and a great walk to it. The owner osf the apartments was a great help and the cleaners were great. The resort could do with some better music in the bars and I would like to see a bit more style with the English rather than just football shirts. Zante town is worth a trip at night for a drink and the sunset at kampi was breath-taking.
the sand on the beach is not up to any thing at all lots of little rocks and fag butts!
But you can not fault the sea, by far one of the best sea's to swim in definatly rent out a sun bed its very cheap considering you pay 6 euros for two sun beds and a brolly for the whole day so definatly worth the money!!!
very nice beach, tip go to moby d**k for a drink and you can use there sunbeds for free, otherwise its 6 e from an old man! sea was lovley and clean.
Lovely sandy beach. Great for kids as you can go quite far out into the sea before it gets deep.
Plenty to do too - pedalos, banana boats, ringos, parasailing and lots of nearby beach bars if you're hungry or thirsty.
A must is to go to "cozy beach kiosk" (next to freddies), food and drinks are excellent cheap and delivered, they work hard and it shows in the service,
We loved it! I'd never been on a jet ski before so was a bit nervous as I watched a young girl and her brother venture out before us. It was a bit choppy but there was plenty of safety instructions before you go out. My boyfriend had done this before so I felt I was in safe hands! The water was fairly choppy so this is a real test of skill rather than pure speed. I had a fantastic time, so much that we went back for more a few days later. We got the really fast machine - don't know what it's called but it was the purple and gold one. See if you can get it!!
Only one word 2 describe it AMAZING
I am going to Tsilivi 9/5/04 - 23/5/04 and will be staying at the Glavas Studios. Can anyone tell me what they are like please?. Also is it relatively quiet at this time of year, and are the boat trips to shipwreck etc operating during this time?. Many thanks.
Freddys bar also on the beach is exellent xpesh the lil dog Freddy and the fit bar man, yummy. x x x
The weather is usually quite warm in May, around the mid 70's. Although, last year there was a heatwave through May and June when it reached the 90's! You will definitely enjoy your time in Tsilivi, the people are really friendly and the sights are beautiful! This will be my 3rd year out there and my 2nd year working the summer. Hope you have a great time!
I have just booked a last minute bargain. I am going to Tsilivi and staying at the Tsilivi Beach Hotel I am going on the 10th May does any one know what the weather will be like
Message for the person asking about Dennis the Menace. He has broken his leg so will not be cruising the beaches for a while yet! I'm sure he will be back next season tho'.
Jetski was brill, price was not....30 euros for 10 mins...about £22. Bit of a rip off.
Nice and clean, excellent for the kids, nice shallow waters, sun beds with an umberella five euros for the day excellent way to catch the rays.
We had a brilliant time in Tsilivi! Lots of sun, sea and local Callinico wine. It is more of a family/couples resort, so the posing potential was virtually nil. Really good if you are looking for a relaxing time - I went with my flatmate and we both loved it! Lots of lovey-doveys everywhere, so possibly not that great for those recovering from broke hearts and the like.
A must is the Levante trip to shipwreck beach and blue caves going from tsilivi harbour.
Also check out the Balcony Hotel overlooking the bay, up the steps at the far end. Fantastic accomodation, lovely family run and good food.
Tsilivi Beach is lovely. Golden sands and clear blue water, it's paradise! Ive been to Tsilivi twice before and am going again at the begining of October this year! My little brothers love to play in the pure sand and paddle in the warm water, with the little (HARMLESS) fishes that swim around their feet! I normally go in the quieter time of year, so I cant comment on the number of sunbeds but the sun is still strong and what a better, relaxing place to catch those rays then Tsilivi beach!!!
The beach was okay but don't go expecting too much. Far too many sunbeds now adorne the whole of this beach which spoilt it for us. This left little room for the kids to roam. Not sure whether this beach is cleaned properly each day many of the beach bar owners and sunbed sellers seemed to just rake the sand over each morning rather than pick up the fag buts, bottle tops etc. No sign of Dennis The Menace where has he gone ? Sea was warm and safe to swim in. Word of warning though there did not seem to be a flag warning system up and running the two weeks we were there 4/9/03 - 18/9/03. All in all average I have been on better beaches.
second time here at tsilivi, would definately come again. beaches are great for the kids, even in the rain. love the hotel tsilivi beach and all the local pubs especially Boleros, fantastic with the kids, and Ozzys bar rocks, especially after his cocktails. hope to be back soon with less rain next time.
sarah,ste and alishia xxx
Beach was OK, but nothing like the clean golden sands that we were expecting. Shallow and safe for the kids, but really nothing special. There are beautiful beaches elsewhere on the island, such as St Nicholas and Gerakas, and these are well worth travelling to. We listened for the Fruit Salad man and Peter is right - it sounds like 'False Alarm' - it gave us a chuckle! Beware though - when serving us our salad he dropped one of his doughnuts in the sand, just shook it and then went on to sell it to a couple a bit further along - ugh, crunchy doughnut!
I agree with you Sarah about that bloke on the speedboat, he was hunky!!! the black and purple shorts were a bit of a turn off!!!!!! im just gutted i aint got any photos of him :(
I need to ask a favour
Has anyone got any pictures of the Tsilivi watersports guys???
I fell in love with the guy on the speedboat his name was Nico if u do have any pics of any of them please send me them to my email address
Saz389@msn.com
Very nice.
Water is nice and shallow, sand is pretty good.
If anyone can work out why the bloke selling fruit salad says "Double...Fruit Salad.....By Dennis the Menace" please let me know ! Why it was by Dennis the Menace is a mystery to me !
fantastic beach, soft sand, clear blue water, safe for kids. we love the fruit salads. second year here and will definatly be back next year. great restaurant right on the beach at the tsilivi beach hotel. fantastic views too.Nikos put the price of the sun loungers down for us next year please!
Yes, there are a lot of sun beds and they cost 5 Euros a pair for the day. This beach is absolutely perfect for kids - lots of little fish, warm shallow water and hours of fun building castles...oh to be a child again! Levantinos snack bar is very good - reasonably priced and if you want to take food out they take care to wrap everything in little bags to keep the sand off till the last enamel grinding moment! Why not play "I spy another CD seller" or "I spy the scary man offering 20 Euro massages" And listen to the fruit salad sellers...one of them sounds like he's shouting "False alarm!"
Im going to be honest, i didnt really like the beach at Tsilivi, the sand was lovely and fine, the sea was warm and the whole beach was clean but it was totally covered with thousands of sun loungers. Its fair that you have to pay for the loungers but there is virtually no other room on the beach for you to spread out a towel on the sand so it meant that if you didnt want to pay then you couldnt go out on the beach during the day. i went out at night and walked along in thw water which was lovely but i still would have wanted to be on the beach during the day. The rest of the resort was lovely with many many bars restaurants and tavernas.
The jet ski's were excellent. It's better to use them when the sea is calm, coz if it is windy your gonna have a rough ride. Jet ski's are not so cheap, but it's worth it for the experience. The staff there are friendly too.
Tsilivi beach is the cleanest on the island. Bouka beach is more rocky, but Tsilivi and Mango beach are very sandy and clear. You have to go out quite a distance for the water to get deep, so it is quite safe.
Take a Lilo, a snorkle and a pair of goggles with you. Dig your feet in the sand and watch the fishes swim around your feet, it's really cool. You wont be able to catch them though unless you have a net!
The watersports are very good also, and there are plenty of snack bars.
Lovely place, excellent beach! Would recomend to anyone!
We rented a pedalo from this place after the guy had differed about it being ok. We were blind to the fact it wasnt. When it sunk to one side we had to push it back a considerable way and the exact same guy told us that he was sorry over and over without helping at all. It wasnt a good experience and i would recommend going to a pedalo hiring place just a bit down the other way.
Everyone, please ignore the comments from 'Tracey' on the previous page. She must be one of those people who just likes to complain and she cant even use full stops or commas!! In my opinion, Tsilivi is absolutely breathtaking. The beach is absolutely perfect, the sea warm and clear and the weather is fantastic. I bet Tracey is just one of those gimps who looks for a fault in everything, a pesamist. Dont listen to people like this, they are not worth listening to. Thankyou and goodbye.
First holiday to Zante ever and we fell in love with the place.
Clear blue seas and safe beaches. Plenty of choices of food and scenery to enjoy forever. Delightful local produce memorabilia.
Loved the stray doggoes, the rats , the lizards, the snakes, the mosquitoes, and jellyfish too.!!! Nature's best.
Watch out for the Cool Geezer with the dreadlocks selling "authentic CDs". This Muppet bought the Barbra Streisand Double Album......yet strangely when I played it, the voice sounded more like Brenda Streetland from Bethnal Green.......Got me, Hook, Line and Sinker!!!
midnight walks along a gr8 beach..........say no more!
hi! hello just wondering if anyone has ne pictures of the jet ski staff near 2 mango beach bar? if so please could u email me at imababe456@hotmail.com thanx xx
Hello Lia, Speros, etc. Thanks for the free rides on the jet skis and cheap sunbed hire. Thanks for keeping us amused with card games, kung fu fighting, etc, you all made our holiday extra special.
See you in September!!
Love Faye, Suzanne & Kelly xxxx
EXCELLENT 10/10 NEED I SAY MORE!
Tsilivi's beach is great.
It's clean and soft underfoot(unlike those beaches where your constantly standing on sharp bits, etc, tut).
The sea is warm and clear, you also have to go out quite far before it gets deep as I found out by diving off a pedalo...OOPS!
Beach in the:
Morning-Cool and Refreshing
Miday/Afternoon-Relaxing in the sun
Evening-A Beautiful Sun Set
Night-Priceless, so many stars, and the sound of the waves lapping up the beach-FANTASTIC
ZANTE ROCKS!
(",)
Nice clean sandy beach, loads of little fish buzzing around you feet so remember to take your snorkel (but didn't see any sharks)! Go for an evening stroll around the small harbour to feed the fish and watch the sunset.
our party of 8 GORGEOUS indian girls had a lovely time.we were at the planos beach apartments from 16may to 23 may 2003.remember us guys????
The Greek people were everso nice especially the men when we told them we were Indian....mind you it did take some convincing when we told them we were all happily married... jimmy and amy looked after us well.we are planning to go again same time next year.
the whole resort was absolutely beautiful couldn't have asked for a better holiday.we had glorious sunshine everyday it was so HOT!!
watch out guys you never know we might even bring more babes with us next year do you think you could handle us???? cos you couldn't sope this time round!!!!!
would like to here from anyone else who was there at the same time
We were wary at first about the resort but first day changed all that.Tsivli beach itself changed that as well as the locals especially in the kaliva bar and for great family surroundings and a decent meal Manos Grill.Hire a car and go North to Alikannas and Alykes nice beaches but don,t have the same feel as Tsivili.Apartments are very basic but clean and tidy but with so much to do you should.nt really be in them much.We were there. last week of may 03 just before busy season but busy enough for us by the time we left.Recommend it to everyone
Is there sharks? jellyfish? urchins?
The place is excellent I could find nothing to complain about, the restaurants were superb as were the pubs. The beech was really clean and busy I dont know what some folk want from a holiday but this place certainly kept all eight of us occupied for two weeks.
Some people must really have gone to the wrong part of Tsilivi or they are way to picky (Tracey!!!) I never saw any rubbish or used condoms for that matter and Tsilivi was very clean. I recomend using the sunbeds in front of the beach bar as you have the use of thier toilets and the food is good! Didnt go in the sea but there was plenty of other people in it so it cant be bad. Good for kids as well as its fairly calm and its shallow water too!
Debs, check out the bar and nightclub info on this website which is excellent and un biased!!!(they just love zante!)Tsilivi has its fair share of entertainment but i would say less pale people passing out in the street than say Laganas!!Look at the photos recently posted for Planet pub and the Enigma club. A great beach, nice shops, lovely food in many different tavernas, chips or stifado, take your pick. Good beach bars.
costas speedboat!!!(noone ´s got more fun throwing people off the banana!!)
Everyone is missing the shuttle service from Lagana.
hi i am traveling with my boyfriend to tsilvi on 27th july for two weeks, staying at roula studios, i have heard that its quiet and not much to do and we should have booked to laganas ! anyone been and got any tips? we're both 23.
There was a group of us that went to try out the watersports and we were very disappointed. We went on the banana boat which was more like a boat ride. It took us (slowly) down the beach and back again, we didnt even fall off! When we said is that it? the guy laughed at us and said 'tough ive got your money now!' I would watch other people on them before u try them! The jet ski's were fun, but expensive.
Can u hhire out speedboats. Last year in Corfu you were able to take out a 25 hsp boat for the day. It was brilliant!!
We love everything about Tsilivi, the beach, the bars, the people.
Particularly Dennis & Angela from the Plessas Studios and Yiannis & Anna from The paradise Bar.
Yamas!
TRACEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anything else to MOAN about!
God you must of went to the wrong place!
I went to Laganas and had a great time. Everyone I know who has been there had an excelent time!
Get out more!
the beach was quite clean and although i didn`t swim in the sea it looked really clean,i enjoyed walking around the harbour and watching the waterspotrs.i went on a peddle boat and had a great time.
This is a gorge beach, especially in june/july/aug wen the sun is shining down on your back, tanning you, then u go in the sea and its so lovely and clear and warm. fantastic! Look out for nikos on the sunbeds, miami bar is nice for lunch. I was ther for a total of 4 weeks this summer and spent many hours trying to figure out wot the "juicy lucy/finger lickin good" guy says! I think he has a language of his own. but very entertaining!
We thought the beech was only just ok. The Sand and sea looked gorg until you notice the cigarette butts everywhere also there is a band of stones on the sea bed wich are about 6 feet into the sea which can be painful to walk on the first time you go into the water. My suggestion higher a car/scooter which are very cheap from bluebird motor hire and go to Alykes/Alykanas it`s only 20 mins away and is well worth it.
We tended to stay at the sothern end of the beach. The sand was good and the sea shallow and ideal for kids. Apart from the main beach bars there were a couple of "Kantinas" on the beach which offer lower prices. We used both "RELAX" and "The Players" and were made to feel most welcome.
i dont like the sea much, anywhere always wear sandles in the water, but here it was fantastic so clear no things on the sea bed just perfectly clear water so warm as well like being in your bath back home, you can go out quite a way and still shallow ! Listen out for the man on the beach selling FRUIT-SALAD ! so funny when he shouts it out FRUIT-SALAAAAARD !
we went on a speed boat ride it cost us 10 pound per person and we were told you get 10-15 minutes so we paid and got on the boat i was very dissapointed as within 5 minutes we were back on the beach but it was good but deffinatly not worth the money
tsilivi beach is one of the worst beaches i have ever been to it was very dirty and reminded me of blackpool beach full of rubbish and at the top end there was lots of used condoms i was very dissapointed i read this page about how lovley the beach was before our holiday and was expecting it to be nice but it wasnt i dont know how any one can say it is nice cause its not and tsilivi is the worst place i have ever been i found it dirty and smelly toilets there were discusting and it is a very quiet and boring place no nightlife at all the only good bar we found was the two brothers bar and the best place for breakfast was eutopia bar and evening meals we ate at stamnes we would never go to zante ever again all the things we heard before we went were good but when we got there we experienced something very different we hated it and couldnt wait to come home we stayed at the tsilivi admirals hotel and the apartment was very small not much room at all and it wasnt very clean the whole holiday was very dissapointing i expected more than what we got and we will never return to zante again
Very Good Beach for Kids - extremely shallow out to around 30yd's from thewater's edge it's only 4.5 ft deep. Very clear water
Ringos were great and a must if you visit! Bit on the expensive side! Did not like the Xpat at the desk who looked like Cat Weasle! They also rush the rides if they are busy.
We have just come back from Tsilivi and had a fabulous time. Our apartments, Manousis, were massive, clean and very comfortable and just far enough away from town not to get all the noise. OK,prices have gone up a bit since the Euro came in but it was still worth it, we'll definitely be going back! If you are looking for more nightlife though you are better going to Laganas.
I went there in May of this year and spent most of my time on the beach, met the guys Nikos and Ellios that run the Speed Club and they were so friendly i was even offered a job there! if you read this you guys really missing you and cant wait to see you next year. If you are anywhere near Mango bar which is near the Speed club, it is a must that you stop and go in for a chat with the friendly staff, (which includes the owner Lisa, a geordie bird!).
Great beach if you want to spend hours in the sea. Fish watching is great fun and it's so shallow at the edge that the kids can have fun without going out of their depth. Sand not the greatest but there's plenty to do. Fantastic time was had by my boyfriend and I. Will certainly return. Laura & Matt (June 2002)
is the beach as good as people say and r the water sports worth the price
A really great beach. Very clean and safe. The water was good quality and I saw loads of different kinds of fish. If you want a meal/snack on the beach front try the Tsilivi Beach Hotel. A really great breakfast is only 4 Euros. You can also use their pools for free...husband and kids loved them
we are going to filoxenia apts on 15th sept 2002 with 3 kids any comments on apts and good eating places appreciated.
Parascending was great - a new perspective of the area and Sea etc. The Winch Boat was easy to get used to and staff friendly. we paid 60 Euro and enjoyed it for the experience but felt it was expensive!
Good variety of water sports. Didn't like the little runt who looked like john lennon with the denim shorts up to his shoulders. He talked to us like we were stupid.
The beach and harbour are nice. There is a regular bus service to Zakynthos town and beyond. Unfortunately a main road runs through the village and this can spoil the 'atmospere' at times.
me and my cousin are going to Tsilivi for the 1st time from the 28th of July - 12th of August, has ne1 got any tips etc wat 2 fun loving girls should do whilst there? ne recomendations? Thanx
Lovely beach with lovely views. Shallow water for kids to play in, there's even a water sports shop so you can try your hand at canoing, parargliding or even jet ski's!!!
I am looking for 3 or more girls aged 20-35 who are going on holiday together between now and the miuddle of August for a TV documentary. If you fit the bill and are going on holiday, or if you know anyone who is, then please email Sarah at films@zkktv.com or ring me on 0207 482 5885.
Classic holiday beach. Not the prettiest beach you'll ever see but functions well. Can get crowded but is not noisy. Very shallow and warm water makes this superb for kids. Plenty of very reasonably priced beach bars (except one which isn't, can't remember name, you'll soon find out).
WE ARE GOING TO THE PLANOS BAY APPARTMENTS ON THE 9/7/02 CAN ANYONE TELL US ANYTHING ABOUT THEM.
Beach at tsilivi was great. The water is quite shallow for at least 200 metres so quite safe for children. Water was warm and quite clear but rubbish if you want to snorkel, i only saw 3 fish and a star fish, not much going on there. Laganas beach was better for snorkeling, if you're lucky you may even see a turtle!
Any information on the Mavrias holiday village, also where are the best and safest places to try snorkeling. We will be arriving on the 4/july 2002is there anything in particular going on on the island between then and the 18/july 2002
wanted to go on jetski but £30 for 15 minutes was a bit on the expensive side, but on our travels we found some at alykes £20 for 15 minutes.needless to say i was on like a shot.all i can say is it`s the best 20 quid i`ve ever spent in my life, much more fun than my zx600.if you`ve ever fancied it get on,what yer waiting for boys.yeehaa!
I just came back but I wish I was still there cause Tsilivi is absoluting beautiful! I recommend 2 bars: ARK and ALMANAC - you can't miss them! They're on the resort main street! And if go there give my greetings to Nicos the barmen (they have the same name!).
My wife, 4 kids and the in-laws are going to the Admiral Apartments in June 2002 and we would welcome some advice on where to eat, swim, places to visit, car hire anything /anyone to avoid. Any local bugs, wildlife to avoid. Any comments good or bad please e-mail me at BrumyBob@aol.com cheers Bob
We've just come back from two weeks in Tsilivi Admirals and have had a fantastic time. Try the Red Lion for eating out-very cheap, good food, friendly service and relaxing atmosphere. Also recomend Theo rentals for car hire as they have good advice for sightseeing. Wish we were still there!!!!
Your on Holiday - Enjoy yourselves and worry about money at home! Just got back and its 35 Euro for 10 mins or 45 euro for 15 (thats per jet ski) Best when its calm as its like a pond out there. V freindly greek people run the centre from a rather pokey looking caravan at the very far end of the beach - he'll give you a discount if you go on a couple of times too! Have fun - and pull that throttle hard!!!!
we are going to to Tsilivi in September 2002 and staying at Aparthotel Tsilivi Admirals has anyone been to this place recently, any updated info will be great as we are travelling with two young children. Anything we should beaware of ? we are travelling with JMC which was very good last year.
We staying at App. Filoxenia Beach. What can you tell me about surroundings. It is our first time at Zakynthos, after a visit to Rhodos and Samos.
what is the age of most tourist as i am going out there to work in a new night club and what sort of music do the pubs and clubs normally play
the best and cheapest ski club in tsilivi is in tragaki on amboula beach run by the locals it is a secluded beach and like a pond on one of the less windy days. kalo-taxidhi.
exellent ! nice slow pace cant wait to go back.
Rip off (although it looked fun)!
Tsilivi beach is lovely and the sea does not shelf it has two sand bank in it so you have to go out quite a way to the deep part because of this it great for CHILDREN AND NON SWIMMERS.
Found the beach was very narrow and a bit stoney, but the sea was safe for children and shallow for quite a way out. But if you turn left at the sea food restaurant at the very end of Tsilivi beach you come to a lovely cove called Donkey beach which was lovely, quiet and nicer sand. But don't try the Restaurant snack bar up the steps - the food wasn't very nice and the toilets were like going into a dungeon, loads of steps downwards. We were told later that there is a better snack bar further on past there though.
we have been back only two days and already missing you tsilivi stayed at nairader for the third time last year stayed at the tsilivi beach hotel . the hotel now is lovely fantastic pool and alot of nice people cant wait to get back next year ste crompton ps dont take son and girlfreind ruined the holiday.
Have been back from hols now 10 days and still can't stop thinking about it. Had such a wonderful time in Tsilivi. We must have picked a good time of year to go, although the weather was fantastic the beach wasn't too crowded. Usually vegged out infront of the Levante Beach Bar - very good, handy, good food, clean toilets. Not too many 'beautiful people' so felt quite comfortable.
£24 for 15 minutes.
We had a super holiday. Clean golden beach - which didnt slope. Clear seas, and safe swimming. What more can say - Zante is wonderful - lovely scenery. If you can get out of towns which are commercialised and into the country - its a lovely friendly island.
Jet ski hire seemed expensive at the time, but seems cheaper than Spain. Best part of the holiday.
The beach was busy. The sea was clean and warm and fantastic to swim in. Tsilivi village was reported to be one of the quieter resorts, although we still never got any sleep. The dogs howled all night, the cockerel was in competition with the dogs, the dustmen arrive at four o'clock every morning and the motorbikes screeched up and down practically all night! Although the nearby bars did turn down the music around midnight, which was good of them. We never had a bad meal anywhere, the food was excellent, although at one restaurant we did have very bad service. We waited 45 minutes for our drinks to arrive, they never did and then they tried to charge us for them! But all the others we went to expecially the Manos Bar near the kiddies go karts and the Tante Nova near the beach were excellent.
the sporting side was expensive! there is a cool bloke who walks along the beach, he is an ex fire man with a beard! he was very nice and friendly! also ther is a 17 yr old who works there, he is more than helpful. if anyone is going say hi to everyone from the girl with the sore knee!
We have just come back from Tsilivi and what more can I say??? The beach was fabulous, make sure you walk in a pair of sandels and the sand gets mega hot. The sea is clear and extremely safe for children. Snorkling was a favourite pastime for our children who thrilled at seeing the brightly coloured fish swimming around their legs. Don't worry, they didn't see "Jaws". Go there as often as you can and you still won't get sick of it. EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT.
We have just got back from Tsilivi (our third time in 6 years), have to say as the resort has got bigger the beach seems to have become one big ashtray (even though the sunbed owners supply ashtrays) which is a bit of a shame maybe they may think abot raking it soon like some other places in Greece.Other than that once you have got around the fag end problem the beach is great and the sea is brilliant for lazing around on a lilo especially if you don't like water that goes too deep.
Absolutely fantastic beach. Tsilivi is only one way, 1000 m long approx., with plenty of restaurants, shops and apartments. But if you looking for a beatyfull woman on the beach, you will spent much time:-) I recommend Tsilivi.
we were at the end closest to Zante town where the beach was clean and far less crowded. Plenty beds available but agree that closer in to the centre was crowded and a bit dirty.
Well it was not what I expected Umberellas and beds for as far as the beach stretched. It was very grubby around the beds, all old ciggy buts and rubbish in general. Sea was lovely and clear as well as warm and safe.
i almost drowned at one point so even with all the people saying its great, beware still. posing is nigh on impossible cos it can be so crowded, but i managed. haha. be careful at nights there is nocturnal mating going on, and i aint on about the turtles, always at least one other couple. oh have i got stories about the beach!!
does anyone do waterskiing on zante?
Have been to Tsilivi a couple of times (early 90's) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be going back in, when I do not know. Obviously it will have changed,is Dennis still there with his doughnuts?.
The sandy beach is not quite as sandy as you would think from first sight. But once you get near the waters edge it is glorious and you can walk for miles before reaching head height in the sea.
It was a long walk from our hotel on the outkirts of town so we did not visit very often but the beach itself was nice altough quite stoney in places.Several beach bars if required. My son got quite badly sun burnt without realising it so please be careful.
Beach is quite narrow in places, but generally fairly clean. Buy Doughnuts and fruit salads from the men who walk up and down the beach as they are gorgeous! Apparently they are made by Dennis the Menace?!
Got back last week and must say the weather was absolutely fantastic. Had to stay on the beach for the breeze, round the pool was in the mid 40's. You have to try the "Cozy Beach Kiosk". It has the best bacon butties on the Island, as well as one of the best looking blondes i've seen in a long while.Definately cheaper than Asda price. Dont bother going to the Phoenix Beach pool bar for a beer, its full of Germans who look at you as if your *#$t.
Anybody been to hotel villa Amoudi at Tsilivi / If so any feedback appreciated .
just back from another week in tsilivi (home from home) and had an excellent time, very relaxing. the beech is as great as ever and a big yassoo to takis and lisa and the crew at mango and venus, and the gang at the 'speed club' water sports down by mango beech bar. that taverna at the end of the beech is probably the best i've found for some time. the toast with tomato and capers is indeed great. hopefully back in sept, if not, next june for a few weeks.
Quite expensive. We tried ringoes and parasailing which were great. The staff are friendly and I felt that they were very safety conscious.
We stayed at Dennis Apts near to the smaller beach in Tsilivi. The beach was clean and friendly. Sunbeds were 2000Drachs per day. Water was beautiful! Didn't go to main beach once... so can't comment.
Forgot to tell you that Speed Club is located on the right side of Tsilivi beach (close to Mango Beach Bar.
Don't know if Nikos has expanded this year, but prevous years he has had jetbikes only. Very friendly and won't let you go out without your life-jacket! Not sure on this years pricing, but you can but ask him!...
You might want to venture over to the other side of the beach...I know it's a fair walk, but if you're after jetskis, then you might want to try the Jetski club owned by Nikos (near the Mango Beach Bar)...You can try and negotiate or tell him he was reccomended by me!...he'll know the name...
We are still in Zante at this present time and we thought we would let you all know the price list, hold your breathe............ jet skis..30 pound for 15 minutes. banana boat..8 pound per person Ringos..10 pound per person ( which are great) pedaloe..8 pound per hour ( for the boat) on a whole the safety and the workers are very fun and efficent but the money means we are not that much frequent visitor!! if you have decide to have a go youll have a great time!!!!!
We stayed near the right-hand end of the beach (looking out to sea) so used that bit rather than the busier part and it was great - the sea is very shallow and safe for children, very clear, little fishes visible too. The taverna at this end of the beach is great but, unfortunately, does not appear on the database on this site so will comment on it here - its called Paradise and is very traditional with excellent food. We didn't see a menu but were told what was available and got the impression that, within reason, you could ask for what you wanted and they would do their best to provide it. Everyone gets a plate of toasted Greek bread with tomatoes, herbs and capers - trust me, it's delicious! Mango Beach Bar is quite close by and had the best Ouzo in 13 years here - tall slim glass full to the top with ice and ouzo poured in about half way - the ice melted to provide the perfect taste with no water required - bliss! Beware though - one is enough!
I agree on the prices but all of the resorts are the same price. Zante is expensive for Water Sports! Go to Acapulco, Mexico. It was 20quid for 45 Mins irrespective of how many passengers.
FANTASTIC BEACH AND RESORT IS THE PENGUIN TAVERNA STILL OPEN?
Nice and shallow and watersports well seperated from bathing. Lovely warm water but is well worth walking all the way down to the south end where is a much more space.
Well, we were going to do some watersports but when we saw the prices we changed our minds and by the amount of boats/jetskis etc sat in the water not being used, so did everyone else. A rough idea of price was approx £22 per person for 5-10 minutes parasailing and £18 for 10 minutes on a jetski. Very disappointing.
Just got back 28th May from a Week in Tsilivi...lovely beach...warm sea...Tsilivi Admiral Hotel where we stayed was okay too. Read my full report at http://www.ask-chris.co.uk/zante.htm
SAND GOOD BUT CAN BE A BIT STONEY WHEN YOU GET IN THE SEA.KEEP AN EYE OUT AS SOME WILL CLEAR THE STONES NEAR THEIR SUNBEDS TO ENCOURAGE YOU TO STOP THERE (GOOD IDEA)
Just got back having spent last week in May there.Had a fantastic time. Didnt see or hear any building work. Maybe someone had too much local wine!!!!!! Stayed at Zante Palace and strongly recommend it. One of our best holidays yet.
Nice beach, particularly at the south end. End closer to town is more scruffy and we encountered some tar washed up from offshore boats. Nice and shallow for the kids.
We have just returned. The beach is untidy in places however the water is clean and very shallow for kids, there was no sign of any bulldozers or workmen when we went. maybe it has stopped. The sun bed areas are kept clean and cost 2000 drachma for two with a parasol.
Didn't like lying on a beach with the sound of bulldozers and lorries going up and down. Workmen working. Was very disappointed with it
most relaxing holiday ever had gone back 6 times best beach-bar life time best restarant cats whiskers best appartments tom johns
best holiday we ever had, beautiful beach long and wide, plenty of secluded areas if peace and quiet wanted.
I went to Tsilivi in June of last year - excellent holiday!! Tsilivi is a really lovely small town. We are going back to Zakynthos this July but this time we are staying in Kalamaki.
The beach at Tsilivi was great. Snorkelling excellent. And the beach bar is a good friendly place to meet friends new and old (especially at sunset before leaving the beach for the day)
excellent, we went back 2 months later, realy good beach, with small cafe on, and a few water sports. the town is very freindly, highly recomended, http://www.simplewebdesign.net/2000.htm some of our holiday pictures,on Zakynthos
