Hi, I've been to Laganas 8 times so far soon to be 9 when i go again this year. Me and my partner are stopping at Plaza II,this will be our 6th time in a row-we love it. It is in a very good location-2mins to the beach an about 5 mins to the middle of the main strip. It is a very nice resort although is getting spoilt as there seems tobe alot of 18-30 now (i'm that old myself but when you work non stop all year round you dont appreciate getting woke up at 3-4am every morning by shoes clomping and doors banging) I don't think that will ever put me off though it is like my second home-i keep saying one day i will go there and not come back. Laganas is a lively place a night and very chilled through the day theres loads of nice placest to eat if you like chinese/indian we would recommend a visit to the Ruby chinese/indian. Dont forget Greece is Greece not everything is purfect but the lovely greek people will do their upmost to help sort out any probs as long as there is respect. Hope you have as good as time as we do, see ya Louise

actually we loved it, ed has travelled for 30 yrs and we r going back for the 4th time in may this year. our friends say" y not try other places", our reply.......... it has everything we want in a hol, the barcode is the best pub ever and what fortiss can do with a bottle is amazing( as in juggling), spiros , takis and lorna are great too. best appart... the villa helena, george, yanni and maria are great. george makes great waffles, so fatterning but yum!!!!!!!! great shops, beaches, no turtles!!Ed here - "I can see a turtle" - bollocks - never trust a german in Greece! Trust the locals. Not the Albainians, Morrocans or Spainyards

HEY, I JUST WANNA SAY I THINK LAGANAS IS BRILL!! ITS GOT EVERYTHING I WANT IN A RESORT!! TWO OF US WENT IN SEP!! WHICH WAS STILL LIVELY ENOUGH! WE ARE BOTH WELL TRAVELLED AS WE ARE BOTH TRAVEL CONSULTANTS AND WE WERE PLEASANTLY SUPRISED, WE DIDNT EXPECT SUCH A GOOD HOLIDAY!! WE STAYED AT THE FANTASY STUDIOS WHICH WERE WITH CLUB 18-30 AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STRIP. NO NOISE AT ALL AT NIGHT FROM CLUBS AS ALL DOORS ARE SHUT OVER, VERY WELL PATROLLED BY COPS, AND LOADS AND LOADS OF YOUNG PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER....NOT JUST ENGLAND!!!THE CLUBS/ PUBS WERE REALLY GREAT AS U DIDNT NEED TO PAY ANY ENTRANCE FEE, MEANING YOU COULD SAMPLE A FEW THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT! BLACK AND WHITE IS THE ONLY CLUB U PAY TO GET INTO...ITS NOT MUCH AND IT HOLDS A FOAM PARTY SO ITS WORTH IT!THE BEACH IS GOOD, AND U CAN HIRE WEE BOATS AND STUFF LIKE THAT...BETTER BEACHES ARENT FAR OUT THOUGH TO VISIT!SHOPS ARE GOOD ENOUGH...ALL THE USUAL CRAP THEY SELL U ON HOLIDAY!! As you seem to be Internet savvy why didn't you research where you are going? We did and knew what to expect - afterall there is so much information out there.

We are in the communication age - don't blame a poor choice of holiday on the resort, country, culture(?) or anything but the fact that you didn't do your research.

basicly this place has no charm and is not traditional at all. one girl who worked there said its like blackpool but hot...i agree. one thing we did not like about this place is that just about every one who works in this resort is english. we went on holiday to experience a different culture and traditions not to go on holiday to a sunny england, but if thats what you like then you will love this place. for shopping this place has tons of tacky shops that sell everything from booze to fake designer gear. we quite enjoyed the shops. theres this one road which goes something like this.....tacky shop,bar,tacky shop,mcdonalds,nightclub,tacky shop,kfc,tacky shop. we are not slagging the place off just telling you the way it is and our personal opinions. i can see the attraction of this place. this place is ideal for single young people who want to have crazy pissed up nights and try to s**g as many people as they can. good for single people bad for couples,families and older people. so if you are young and normally enjoy going clubbing getting rat a**ed and trying to get the oposite sex into bed then you are going have a great wild time.

me an my 4 girl mates went to zante in the first week of july this year! was'nt what i expected but i had a laugh my mates did'nt seem to like it much though! i would go back with a bigger group of SINGLE mates! generally a good atmosphere. especially the night Greece won the Euro what a buzz the entire place was jumping, it was like england had won!! wicked. some good memories overall!

Came back just over a week ago. Seems like a lifetime away. Stayed B/B at the PALLAS Hotel. Nice clean friendly hotel but let down by the breakfast and the lack of traditional Greek food.Found a fantastic restaurant on the main road opposite Olympia hotel in the quieter part called SYRTAKI. Friendly family-run place serving excellent food cooked by Momma.So many people passed by.Boy did they miss a treat!!! If you like live music give STRINGS Bar a try and say hi to Mark Matt & the gang. Fantastic music and great breakfasts.

Just come back stayed in alexander hotel about 10 minutes from the beach and about 15 mins from main strip.The beach was brilliant.The nightlife was good but people keep asking you to go in their restraunt gets annoying. The shopping is quite good and the charm is just.....well brilliant.

Just got back from a week in Laganas and had an excellent time. Myself and 6 mates took the place, got very drunk and had a ball, but got the holiday blues now.

We stayed in the Canadian Hotel (about 30 mins from the strip) which was cool and met some great people there.

Just came back from the best two weeks holiday I've had in ages! I was there between 5th Sept - 19th Sept and stayed at the Panorama Hotel. I met Nat and her mates while she was there celebrating her 21st! I drank too much and would recommend that if you go then check out Must sports bar for a relaxing drink, Zeros for the hunky barmen pretending to be Tom Cruise (from Cocktail!) and Cocktails and Dreams for real cheeseyness! The Zakfari is an experience and if you fancy seeing some wildlife then go on a turtle boat tour. If you don't fancy that then the beach is a good spot for sunbathing. And there's loads of cheep restaurants like Absolute, Ostria or Olympic Flame to name a few! Can't wait to go back!

Just got back from Laganas,wish i was still there!! Beach is great and the nightlife is excellent. Zeros is by far the best bar/nightclub. The barmen are amazing, especially George!!!
For cheap drinks try G Spot and Plus!!

HEY!!! Just got back from the best 2 weeks ever! - so wanna go back. It was amazing! All the pubs and clubs are good but u defo need 2 check out Mad Murphys, for the pool table if nothing else (try playing it drunk - u'll have a right laugh), also the bar guys are gorgeous!(You know who u are ;)) Go to Prestige( excellent cocktails) and Cherry Bay too, yeh the music in Cherry Bay is cheesy but thats what u need on holiday right! If u do want to go on any day trips I'd say go see the turtles, we only actually saw one when we went but it was pretty cool.
U can't fail to have an excellent time. I am definitely going back. ENJOY!!!!!!

whoooooaaaaaa!!! whaat a great holiday, admittedly i went in 2002 but i still desperatly want to go back there, me and two friends went and just drank the place dry. 1st day we got there we just went straight to a bar (during the day) and started, then went back to the apartments and got changed and went out, to this day i've never had so much fun, i'm currently looking to maybe return there but lack the money, the best memory would have to be thorwing a water bomb at the man who rakes the soil in the apartments, i was on the top level and he was on the floor doing his thing and i lobbed a beauty, panicked and ran into my room slamming the door behind me, up he came and thought it was my friend haha, excellent holiday but beware the flying beasts!, alsorts of flies and wasps and as me and my friends called them flying tanks!, black things that looked deadly!, oh and as for the streetsellers f**king pain in the a**e but if you just run in a club then they dont follow! then you can get a drink too!, oh and the totty! blimey guv'nor! well fit birds up for a laugh!, watch out for the scots though, they are drinking animals! a lad broke his knee or summit in the cherry bay and was lying on the floor, his mates thought he was joking, when i asked if he was alright i could see he wasn't!, i had to carry him out with one of his friends, bloody good lads the scots! such funny accents!

oh and dont leave the island without visiting cameo island!

was working out there for the summer from may til sept and i enjoyed most of it, i say most coz i was a bit of a mup and came off a ped and spent 2 weeks skint there, kinda put a downer on it! would say the best nightclub was rescue, no not jus coz i worked there but i no the outside bar staff r top (hi si, lefty, jason, scotty, murchy n especially big sam, love u all will b back!) they entertain u all night doin all sorts of mad stuff! inside bar staff r cool too all pretty mental nicola's the best tho!! some tourists liked the place so much they stayed out to work! also loved cherry bay (aka cheesy bay!), waikiki, wackabout among many more! i also worked in malia this year and altho its bigger than laganas its nightlife is nothing compared and the beach is so much nicer in zante. hope u enjoy ur hol if u decide to go!

Had a great time in Laganus during the week of the 6th September to the 12th. Spent my 21st drinking cocktails out of the fishbowls out there had a fab time. Stayed at the Panorma hotel, very nice!

just got back on sunday 13th sept the 2nd time this year we have been, fantastic place 2 go, girls be careful of the gypsie boys, they may only be about 12 years old but they do like a good grope, just tell em 2 f**k off! usually does the trick!
U must call in on the outside bar of rescue before 12 wen the music finishes, the top bar staff, including sam, merchie and sy have some brilliant dance routines and fire breathing.

This is the ultimate boys holiday - girls way outnumber the guys and pubs and clubs open till 7 am. Reccommend starting your night at Gspot and finishing in Cocktails and Dreams (very cheesy but some laugh....) We were there for the 1st 2 weeks in Septemeber, We stayed in the magnificent Panorama Hotel - very basic but hosts (Pedros and Dimitros) were brilliant and location was spot on. Going on the 23rd Sept and was wondering what is the best Clubs for Dance music. Not realy into RnB and there is only so much Cheese you can take in one night.
Will it still be busy / hot at this time
Also is there a late night chill out bar that is open like i have found in other places like Falaraki and Kos.
Usally it is the one the workers go to. There was a great one by a pool in Falaraki.

I would agree with you that these "Albanian Gypsy Pickpockets" are a nuisance. Since 1999 my sister & I have been going to Laganas and they even come into the Restaurants while you are eating which is very irritating. They are thieves so be warned.

It is a disgrace that children of their age are roaming around Laganas until all the hrs. of early A.M. The older "Flowersellers" are just as bad and are very rude if you don't buy even if you are polite. Why would a Female buy another Female a Rose? They are very persistent. I got a whack from one of them on the back (Older Female) as I refused to buy so now totally ignore them all.

This year in July down the Beach and down the Strip at night there were about three young children playing "Bongo Drums" in your earhole while you were lying sunbathing looking for money. Most irritating. They were usually outside Stasantas/Marabou Snackbar/Baywatch.

I loved Lagana, the only think i would say watch out for are the small kids who wander along the main strip selling glow-bracelets, balloons and roses, they are a pain in the ass! i have seen them hit people, spit at people and throw water at people among other things. Be careful, they are pickpockets and are very sneaky too!

Yuk. I passed through laganas as breifly as possible. It is a lovely place turned into a putrid hell by drunken british yobs. The place is wrecked because of the tourist trade and the amazing turtles face extinction because of the bright lights and beach intrustion. I can heartily recommend Tsilivi as a muc more pleasent resort.

Well we wanted a girls holiday but without the typical 18-30s mares. We were very happy with it!
Paradise apartments are friedly adn nice but too far out to walk home girls, mates stayed nearer in town at Ikaros which were AMAZING for the price! Loads of places to eat & keep occupied.... as for the nights.... Head to Zeros for fun adn tasty men in Wikiki's/ Cherry Bay. Would def go here againa nd recommend it, i have been to Ibiza, Falaraki, Malia and Koz and this was my fav - not too young either!

After booking I realised that Laganas was an 18/30 resort so after the TV coverage of such was not looking forward to it. I was pleasantly surprised, we all had a great time( us and 2, 17 year old lads)Did not witness any trouble in 2 weeks. Resort is very geared to holiday makers, if you are looking for the real Greece you whon't find it in Laganas. It is for the young/ young at heart, like to let your hair down, drink loads, esepecialy cocktails relax during the day then you'll enjoy yourselves, as we did. Boys plan to go next year without us, we are going to try another part of Greece.

would like to return someday. helen studios were brilliant in location and very clean. the family that run these studios are very friendly and helpful, i would like to wish them all the best for the future. entry in the comments book 29 aug 2004 from colin & lesley. tasos if you read this a e-mail is on the way.

I loved the nightlife but the pool was really dangerous, my friend who i went with, got an ear infection from the amount of chlorine in the pool, the shopping was good but their were no pavements along the road and i was unfortunate enough to witness someone getting run over, right houtside perkes hotel. Most of the people in laganas were very friendly and their were soma amazing boat trips to go out and see the turtles i would recomend it but not necessarily to perkes hotel, i suggest self-catering.

Laganas - it's fun, loud. peaceful yes it can also be whatever you want it to be. The main strip is for party party but go off the
strip and it is great for everybody. Trad. taverna's, good bar's that cater for all ages. Take time to look around and you won't be disappointed.

Going out to Laganas with three of my mates on the 13th, wondering how much money to take? Anyone any info? We are going half board. Are the drinkd cheap? Cheers.

Went to Laganas 20th June to 5th of July. Stayed in the Victoria Hotel totally recommend it! Nightlife excellent! Recommend starting in Ghetto, for cheap drinks go to G-Spot, then move onto Prestiege, the best bar on the island with the best PR's, (Ed and Rich!), for cheesy pop and gud boogie got to visit Cherry Bar, if u prefer R'n'B Walkiki and Bad Boys r a must go and if your still up for more drinkin after closin Oceans Inn is open till 8am every mornin!!!! Resort is full of fit lads, (e.g. martin!!!) so theres enough to go round!!! This was defo our best holiday and totally goin back for seconds next year!!!

Have a wonderful time on 10th September. I so wish it was me going back this year. Since 1999 I have been going to Zante, usually twice a year. I am booked for going back but not until next year on 5th June for a week and then 3rd July for two weeks staying at Plaza 2. A couple of years ago I stayed in the Hotel Australia for a week as a late deal. I know where the Zante Dora Apartments are but have never stayed there.

I always feel that going to Laganas for your holiday is like going home. Over the years I have met many people who go every year. The place is so friendly.

Just got a late deal to stay at the Zante D'Oro apartments very close to where I worked in '96 and met my now wife! Will be there on the 10th September about 5 a.m. (Ghost Flight!)

Laganas in Zakynthos is the best. i loved goin out every nite, eatin at a resturant den goin bk to the Ilios Aparthotel and meetin with m8s to stay out. the beach is alrite. sand gets very hot so i suggest u wear sandals wen wlkin across it. peeps try n flog u off aswell but just ingore dem, dey eventually go away. if u do go av a gd time. u will love it

I got back from a 3 week holiday last Sunday which I thoroughly enjoyed and did not want to come home as usual.

Whilst there a friend of mine was with me for the first 10 days of my hol. I was then on my own. Was rather down when my friend went home but I went on Trips i.e. Zante Town, Shipwreck & Tour of the Island by Coach. They were all very good. The rest of my time was spent sunbathing. I even still ate out at the Restaurants once I was left on my own. The Waiters always welcomed me and looked after me so I did not feel odd eating on my own. My last stop was usually drinking in The Persipolin Restaurant Bar. The staff in here were very friendly and nice to me, especially Zeros. Anyone who goes in here in there hols please say hi to Zeros from Val (Campari Scotland).

I so wish I was still in Laganas, miss the weather and the people very much. Would like to go back this year but think it will be next year or I can afford to return for the ninth time. 30 mins. rain for the whole of my 3 week holiday. Can't be bad!!

i think "18-30 cesspitt" is a bit ha**e! i went in july and its my second time, ok i admit i am still in the 18-30 range but being 27 i am at the top end and i love it. people old and young go to laganas, last year we got friendly with a couple in their late 50s who come here most years and they also love it. you dont have to be on the main strip if you find it too much like "blackpool" there are quieter bars up the road where you can listen to music, watch a film or a live turn and if you have visited laganas beach and not seen the turtles then you have really missed out.

came here for a day, two minutes was enough, if you want blackpool then this is your place, came on holiday to greece to enjoy the greek way of life. 18-30 cesspit.

Just got back from two weeks in Laganas, it was a great holiday, gutted to be back home though, but we are definately going back next year. Laganas is fantastic, there are some really good bars and clubs and drinks are reasonably priced. Laganas beach is really long and narrow =crowded, so you might be better off heading down to Kalamaki beach, which was lovely. There is a water park now that was built last november, its about 20 minutes from Laganas. I think tour operators have trips to there, but they charge 25 euros and if you go with your own transport it only costs 16. If you go after 2.30 in the afternoon its only 10!, thats what we did and it's plenty of time to get all the slides and stuff in before the park closes at 6, as theres a lazy river and 7 slides, thats it! Zante town is nice and has some nice harbourside restaurants. There are some nice restaurants in Laganas, we enjoyed Acropolis, Lokanda, Family taverna, Dallas, Bollero and Palataki. There are also some right dives that are mingin' and totally rip you off, so be carefull!!(like the chinese and indian restaurant on Kalamaki road and Chinatown on the main strip!) We hired a quad bike to get around Laganas, which was great fun and cost us 85 euros for 3 days (the price goes down the longer you hire it). I went with my boyfriend and we spent £1000 between us, although we wern't on the pop everynight, i would say you will need about £400 for a week and £700 for a fortnight. I'd heard a lot of horror stories about Zante airport, but let me confirm.........IT'S AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE!!!! Our flight was for 07.30 and we were picked up from our apartments at 04.00, we got to the airport and were greeted with about 400 people all in different lines and then dumped there by the rep to stand for nearly 2 hours, whilst they only let in 30 people at a time as the airport only has 4 check-in desks and 4 gates!! What fun! Once your inside you think it is all behind you, you'd better think again, you have to queue for the check-in, then they herd you like sheep back on yourself to passport control and then finally into the departure lounge. Here, you have to fight your way through people to find a little piece of floor to sit on (as you've been standing so long your ankles swell up like mine did!!) as there are about 20 chairs. I'm just thankful that i didn't have a midday flight. Although there have been some improvements, as i overheard one women say that last year there wasn't even any shade from the sun, but now there are two big canopies out the front of the aiport. They are currently extending the airport but that could take years, they havent even managed to complete the olympic stadium in Athens in time, so what hope is there for Zante airport!!! BUT that won't stop me from going to Zante again next year!

Hi everyone got back from Laganas last week had a fab time lots of gorg guys out there clubs were mental out there for the footie too which was totally mad - we are going back next year for sure hope to see some of ya out there again!

I usually spend about £700 but this year as there were a few of us we bought loads of alcohol and got drunk while we were getting ready each night. It just meant that as we were already on our way before we went out we could enjoy the bars more as we werent hammering the cocktails down -in fact we ended up having more shots than anything else. Ended up getting hammered every night and saved £200 as only spent £500 this year so well chuffed. Plenty of banks over there as well and its much easier to just take your cash card rather than messing about with travellers cheques.

One bar you must try is Bar Code, its just up from Cosy Corner on the left hand side, cheaper than in the main bit, we were making our own fishbowls. Great starting point each night (and finishing point when we managed to get there before 6am.)

Haven't been Zante yet, we go on the 29th of July. Can't wait, theres 17 of us doing 18 to 30! We went Malia last year tho and we all took about £800 and it was enough. Whatever u take u end up spending!

Just returned after 2 weeks in Zante, had a brilliant time!! We stayed all inclusive but still spent £600 each. May seem alot but we did eat out a few times and were out on the pop every night. Anyway hope that helps. Good bars to head to are Cocktails & Dreams, Plus & Ghetto.......many a good night had there!!

Two thirty-somethings from Manchester and Warrington just returned from a week at the Olympia Hotel in Laganas. Had a great time although the hotel was a bit like a concentration camp! Owners and staff were lovely but just far too many rules! Met the 'Clit Commanders' - 7 lads from Essex who were a top laugh - hiya fella's if you're reading this. Sorry we didn't get to have a drink with Keith G but by the time we'd seen your reply you'd already left! Top tip for great coctails - Bar Code on the main strip. The 3 barmen are horny as hell and you get to shake your own cocktails!

Just got back from Laganas on Sunday we had a brilliant time, none of us wanted to leave!. We stayed in the Zante D'Oro appartments and although they were basic, we couldn't have asked for a better location being right next to the beach and main strip. For a great night out start at G-spot and work your way down to Rescue or cocktails and dreams, Wackabout and Cherrybay are also a good laugh. The atmosphere there was unbelievable we couldn't have wished for a better time and intend on returning next year. Just got back from a week in Laganas - Julie Studios. Was brilliant although felt a bit old at 26. The average age of people is about 21 but was a great laugh. Were there when Greece won the footie - will never forget the atmosphere - was amazing. The streets were packed with fireworks going off in all directions. Best place for a boogie is in Cocktails and Dreams. had a wicked time in there. Apartments were lovely and really clean too which was fab (although being next door to a sex shop was a bit of a suprise!). If you're going to Laganas shortly, look out for all the 'cocktail' action - those boys give you your drink in style - with fire eating and fancy twirling it's dead entertaining even when you order order something boring!

Hi ya everyone, just got back from Laganas last monday, had a fantastic time. The resort is fab, and the drink is extremely cheap (Amstel 75p a bottle, cocktails roughly £1.50 with leathal measures.) Stayed in tyhe fantasy hotel alright but a bit dirty but didn't really mind it. Overall excellant holiday will definately be back next year!!
P.S. Just a quick tip, if you have a late pick up time on return you can hire a room across from priviledge for just 20 euros per person, and there absolutely fantasic!!!

yea, well it was about 15-20 mins walk to the main bit on the strip from there. we always walked there and only ever got a cab on the way back to the hotel if we were drunk. You'l have a wckd time. The hotel entertainment was bit cheesy but gd fun anyway. The bar staff (the men) made us dirty drinks (3/4 alcohol) - and we wre told by another bar lady that they wre tryin to get us drunk so be careful. bt nothing major to wori bout. If u have any mre questions, just ask. u'll really like the hotel, its so nice.

Went to Zante - came back on sunday. Had a wicked time- it was so much fun. stayed in hotel margarita which was better than i expected. clubs wre good. try bad boys and waikiki (at the end of the strip) if you like r'n'b and hip hop. if you want a bit of garage mixd in with that too, then go wackabout which is opposite the other 2 clubs i mentioned. Went to black and white club and it was empty - we wre the only ppl there at 2am! weather was good all week, apart from the one day we booked to go to the waterpark. so we didnt get to c it. if you dont like r'n'b and hip hop the only other place we found that didnt play that type was cherry bay - cheesy music.

My boyfriend's just arrived in Laganas and is staying in the Bluebell.
Said the complex is nice and in a good loaction.
The rooms are lovely and have air conditioning and a good size balcony.
He said the pool's excellent and they are only a short walk away from the beach and nightlife.
Don't think you have anything to worry about - have a good time!!

i got bak from plaza 1 yesturday n i can say its bin one of my best holidays eva!. George n his family r so friendly and the plaza is in a brill place. were hopin 2 go bak not nxt yr but yr after.

I have been to Laganas for the past 5 years. it's brill.
There is lots of different music for all tastes.
the nightclubs are free these are called Zero's and Rescue on the main street. you will have a brill time
If you want to go to any other part of the island for a change one night I would recommend avalon bar in argassi it's only about 10 mins in a taxi but you will have a great night.ask for scott or jess and say chris sent you.

i just got home!! i loved it!!! hope you don't want a peaceful holiday though!! they play hip hop, rnb, really and a bit of a mix in the clubs (zeros and rescue), best places i found was bad boys, wakiki (those are near enough on the beach at the end of the strip!), then zeros and rescue before 12 thats when the club opens, then you can move out the back. i hated medousa!! the pr guy was a p***k!! but on the strip there is bar after bar its excellent. be careful about where you choose to eat though some of it pretty naff!! but your rep will tell you some good places to go! hope this helps and have a great time in august jammy sod, wish i was going again!! gonna have to wait to next year now though!!!

Hiya Claire, i was staying at Denise Beach on 1st July for two weeks but my friend has just let me down! You will love it, its really nice and the nightlife is great. Theres two clubs Rescues and Zeros, the club opens at 12 (last time i was there) and closes bout 5ish. Have a nice time :-)

Visited 6th to 20th May 2004. When we arrived on a cloudy afternoon and started driving through the resort in the bus we both thought - what a dump! It just looked very run down and 'tired' and when we went out for a walk to find out where everything was we had a look in some of the shops and they were so dusty it just looked as though they had pulled the shutters down at the end of last season and then just opened them up again without actually doing anything. Some of them were still like that when we left but most had made an effort to at least put the duster around the shelves even though they hadn't bothered to dust the stock! Fortunately all the restaurants we ate in were spotless apart from the sand. At the start we thought Zakynthos was a place we would not go back to but we did change our minds by the end - but would probably go to Aghios Sostis, Alykes or Alykanas instead!

Has anoyone got any information on the Rose Club Apartments as I off there in July, I would like to find out anything really especially details about location etc.
I last went to Laganas around 11 years ago and I loved it especially the lovely sea!! I do understand peoples comments on the beach it does look brown and flat but thats because its all wet (unless it has changed drastically).
Is the beach really overcroweded in July cause I am a bit worried now as that is one of the main parts of my holiday.
Lastly does anyone know of a restaurant called Jozefs as that was our favourite restaurant but I cant find it mentioned on the web anywhere so maybe it has closed down by now?

Can any1 tell me if there is a waterpark or amusement park on the Island or close by, I've heard bad reports aboout the Banks over there too is it true that its impossible to take money out through the cash point?Are the queues the airport really as bad as people are sayin? (Not that I'd really complain think I'll be glad of catchin every ray available. If any1 else is goin the same time send me an email...

Freya who wanted to know where Zante Dora Appts are. 5mins of so from main street in good beach location (10metres. Next door to Hotel Australia & opp Hotel Sirene. Good location, can't tell about accom not used. Try these for restaurants - Greek Islands, Sirrocco
both on the beach right near your appts. Also Pashalis opp the Calipso Pool on the road behind beach again in area you are staying.
We always go the same area and this is our 11th yr (twice yearly). We go 16/5 for week. Hope you have a really good time.

Me and 4 of my friends went to zante last year and absolutley loved it, but were going back this year and i wonder if anyone has stayed in "Zante D'oro" studios before? i want to know wat there like, where they are situated and wat are the people like that own them.

We like friendly staff serving good Greek food which is not too expensive - can anyone recommend some restaurants close to the Denise Beach Apartments?

My husband and I are going to Laganas on 6th May for two weeks and would like to know if anyone can recommend a few really nice restaurants which offer good Greek food at reasonable prices - not too far away from the Denise Beach Apartments? Vicki, try www.faliraki.me.uk. I thought it was brilliant a few years ago when I went a couple of times with my sister and decided to go with my fella but Club Reps had been on the telly and completely spoilt it. I would definitely NOT recommend going to Faliraki, it used to be a nice place but its had its day and is now too rough and full of d*ckheads. If you do decide to go be very careful, especially with your drinks as Rohyipnol is available over the counter from the local chemists! Get ursen to Zante instead, its THE place to be and like Falaraki used to be in the good old days (that makes me sound old!)

I know this has nothing to do with Zante really but I was wondering if there was another page like this one giving information about Faliraki? Or if anyone went there last year, do they think it will be worth a visit this year now the police have calmed the place down?

Hi Alex, my friend has stayed at Jimmys and raves about it every time I see him, so you should have an excellent time. For places to go, try Zeros and Bad Boys and if you want a good place to eat the Greek Island on the beach has the best food!

Myself and a friend went to Lagana in October last year and have booked to go back this May. We stayed at President apartments. For you first timers to Lagana there is lots to do both night and day. All the bars are appealing, we hunted down the ones that offered the cheapest cocktails! As for places to eat, we loved the hospitality and food at Greek Islands. We also took time out on a day trip aroud the island which covered the main town, shipwreck, blue caves and secluded beaches. The island is beautiful - not too built up like other resorts. The only thing i will mention is be careful with your bags/purses/wallets as there is the odd pickpocket about - watch out for the mopeds as they could grab your bag. Apart from that you'll all have an excellent time - you'll wonder why you haven't been before!

Hi!! Taking my boyfriend on holiday for the first time, staying at Jimmys self catering. neither of us have ever been to Zante Laganas. Has anyone stayed at Jimmys before? can anyone recommend any "speacial places to go" that would make it truely memorable? Also what is the transport on the Island?

I have booked to go to the Aphroditi hotel in Laganas. I booked it from an artists impression in the Goldensun brochure. So will be hitting Laganas at the beginning of June for 2 weeks! Phoned golden sun and they say the updated picture will be in the new brochure out at the end of May. So your local travel agents can help there.

Me and my boyfriend went to Laganas last August and it was the best holiday ever. Lots to do and see! The nightlife is great and during our two week stay we never had a dull moment!

Shipwreck island is a must (rememeber sun cream) along with renting out a pedalo to see the turtles. You must get an underwater camera too (Kodak £10.00) and get some pictures under the sea as it is clear as a bell.

Going back this year with a few couples and hoping to have just as good a time! Cocktails & dream - the place to be!!!

And visit local beach to see logger head turtles Get a under water camera well worth it! lat year went and stayed at the apollo apartments this year we had luck and were going to lagamas once again but were staying at the serene australian b&b! A cab from the airport will cost you no more than 15 euros depending on where you are staying i think we paid about 10 last time. When are you going to Laganas? We're going on 10th June for 3 weeks - can not wait!!!

hiya I just want to say that i have been to laganas last year with my parents and it was amazing. I am going again this year with me mates. We stayed in the denise beach apartments they were excellent. The staff were very nice and it was very clean. Also not to far from the nightlife. Anyway going again in september so hope to see all the staff. wooo can't wait!!!!!

I,ve been to laganas lots of times and i,m off again on the 6th of june to the Pythari apts in the top end of laganas. It's and excellent resort either with a partner of young free and single theres lots for everyones taste. If your planning to watch the england games in euro 2004 definatley head to the pinkpanther bar. if your going att he same time let me know see u there.........

Wey Hey Laganas again. Me and the lads were there in 2002 and it was fantastic so we decided to do it all over again and reek havoc on the island of zante. We stayed in the Sarakina apts and if anyones going there this year they are superb!!! You'll find us doing the chair in Wild cayotes, and drinking the entire menu at Flannigans.

Sounds absolutely fabtastic. Can't wait to get there in May 04!!

just wonderin where abouts in laganas yor stayin? u guys will love every minute of it. there`s 5 of us aged between 21-25!, mad mandas the oldest and fiestiest (sorry manda i had to warn em, there only babies!!) u`ll probably c us proppin the bar up in zero`s/rescues/cocktails & dreams/cherry bay, these r the best places to go, u can`t miss em coz there all on the main strip, and watch out for manda she`ll be the one on the bar dancin!!

Hey Ross, you n your mates will love it, I went last year with the girlies and we enjoyed it so much that 5 of us have booked to go back again this year. Nightlife is fantastic you wanna try Zeros, Rescues, cherry bay, cocktails n dreams (watch them stairs though!) if you're owt like us you wont have any energy to do much during the day apart from cabbage out by the pool but we hired a speed boat for a couple of days (quite cheap) n went over to turtle island for a bit of turtle spotting and snorkelling etc. Only thing to watch out for is the albanians, dont show em where you keep your money, a couple we met were staying near the beach and had their apartments broken into but dont let that put you off - just a warning. Ur there same time as us and looks like you on the same flight home so look out for the donny lasses n have fun!

from ur mum or dad thats all! go for it! then you just bring in your money in
little bits whenever you have it, into the travel agents.

i think u only have to be 16 to drink in greece so it shud be okay how did you get a holiday when ur only 17 me and all my friends want to go and we will only be 17 too but dont know if we can go at that age

Kev Harrison...you sound like a complete loser. We don't really care what u think about Laganas....at the end of the day its a resort generally for the younger generation hence all the bars / clubs. Where do your daughters go clubbing? Your local social club?!? Clubs in the UK are just the same as abroad with all the goings on so lighten up.

i worked in laganas from may 2003 til september 2003 and u and all your mates will love it out there. the best places to go are Rescue, Zeros, BadBoys and cherrybay. they aren't strict on ages at 17+ u will all be fine. it starts to get really busy mid June and it will be hot although obviously not as hot as in July / August. Have fun xxx

Laura, the price of drinks etc have gone up a bit since its changed to Euros but its still not too bad, the most expensive bars charge about the same as here. Keep your eye out for happy hour in alot of the bars, buy 1 get 1 free. You will find that the drinks are more expensive in Zeros and the bars in the centre of the strip as they are the most popular but the ones that are a bit further up are cheaper sometimes by 2 euros a drink. I normally take £350 for a week but I pay about £80 for my accommodation out of that and normally I will still end up bringing money home. If you want to keep the rounds down, stay away from Smirnoff Ice (5 Euros) and Jack Daniels (about 8 Euros) as these are imported in, and are way too expensive. If there are a group of you, you will get lots of free shots especially if you flirt lots, the barman love to give girls free drinks! Very jealous that you have already booked up, hope you have a whale of a time and if you think of anything else let me know.

We went to lagana in may 2000. It was the best holiday we have ever had!!!
We have booked to go again later in the year and we cannot wait.
For those whose who wrote poor comments about Zante, perhaps you should of stayed at home (under a wet blanket).

Laura, just read your comment. You and your mates will have an excellent time in June. It will be really busy and all the bars will be packed. The weather should be hot in June, so no problems getting a tan. They don't have an age limit on alcohol so you will easily get served. Good places to go are: Zeros which is half way up the main strip (very tasty barmen) and Bad Boys which is at the beach end of the strip (good r'n'b music, and excellent atmosphere) but to be honest you will have a good time in most of the bars. A few good restaurants are Paradise (next to Bad Boys), Greek Island (on the beach and serves the best food ever) and the Bee Garden (on the main strip). Ive been to Zante about 10 times so if you need any other info, just shout!

Laganas was excellent it was great for the hole family.Chevy's bar/club was excellent it had a great theme to it and the food there was lovely.BUT i would NEVER go to the savvas appartments again it was unpleasent.

I don't understand how anyone can not like Zante! It's a wonderful island. There is a large variety of everything on the island, people, music, pubs, nationalities, beaches. If you didn't enjoy your holiday, you really don't know how to live! I have been twice now and I fully intend on returning again soon. The people are so friendly and I didn't have any problems on either holiday. People, stop looking at the negative things. If you looked on this website before you went then you should know what to expect. If you don't like what you read, simply don't visit Zante.

I read on this website before we left for Zante that the place was 'HELL ON EARTH' whoever wrote that comment was spot on !
It was the worst holiday on a Greek island that we have ever had.
We stayed in Laganas, although the apartments were ok the rest of the place was smelly & dirty I think even the rats had left the island it was that bad !
My boyfriend wished he had left the island as he ended up with Salmonella poisoning cos of the poor hygiene.
Mind you its ok if you like to sunbathe on the beach with all the turtle poo !
Most of the time it was like Skegness in winter with the wind and the rain and cos of the bad weather there was nothing to do cos everything was either shut or flooded !
I would say to anyone going to Zante........DONT GO you would be better off in england ! I will never be going back.
P.S be prepared for a 3 hour wait for your luggage at the airport (actually I dont think you can really call it an airport more of a shed ! ) mind you that is if your very lucky and get your luggage back at all !

Well what can i say! Laganas is the place 4 me, went 4 2weeks in July and I loved it that much I had to go back in October 4 a week!
In July it was fantastic, with the main street packed with people having a great time, pissed up on cocktails etc! The atmosphere was great and the weather was hot hot hot!
October wasnt as busy, there were more older people about and some of the bars looked lost! not complaining tho cos I still had a great time!
I will be back at the end of May 2004 to see my Laganas friends! A big shout out to Sagis(dont know how to spell your name, sorry!) the greatest bar man on the island who works in Cocktails & Dreams, Yiannis at The Occean Inn Club (get that laser working for next season you sod!) and last but not least the best rep ever scouser Karen for Manos, keep smiling you are such a laugh!

We stayed at the Procopis in Laganas from 27/9 until 4/10. Possibly the worst holiday I have ever had. The owner turned into Basil Fawlty after exchanging our money all week for the worst rate on the island. The brochure stated 3km from the centre. Not 3km from EVERYWHERE! talk about out in the sticks. The people were horrible and it seemed that they just wanted the tourists to go home as they had had enough. Libra holidays just aint worth a carrot. The reps were only interested in booking trips and never helped in the slightest. This would put me off ever going to Zakynthos ever again.!!! Really sad as I have travelled to many places in Greece and everyone had raved about here. I advise everyone never to travel with Libra and certainly dont stay in the Procopis... or Fawlty Towers....!

I would say dont expect too much of accomodation on any of the Greek Islands. We stayed at the Panorama hotel, situated five minutes walk away from the main street. Clean, tidy though quite basic and run by a friendly family. Rooms cleaned every other day, but if you needed more towels or whatever you had but too ask. Our one gripe would be that the shower was a hand held thing that you couldn't hang up, but it wasn't a big deal. Must also mention the Dom Repo hotel for having a very nice pool.
Laganas has a very lively nightlife and we wouldn't have wanted a hotel right on the main strip.. Sleep would have been difficult! Very much a 'younger' persons resort and the coctail bars Zeros and Rescues were a blast.
The better and cheaper restaurants we found to be back from the main
street. The Acropolis was the best we found........

We stayed in the Vasso Studios at the end of September. There was almost no hot water during our stay and the apartments were very average. A good location with a nice pool and bar right next door, lots of free sunbeds. Loads of restaurants and bars nearby. The beach was OK and great for walks in the evening after dinner. We liked the Blue Waves restaurant which was on the beach, and can highly recommend La Marinara on Kalamaki Street for excellent Italian food.
The weather was very good with some thunder storms at night.

its your typical little england, tons of pubs and clubs and shops selling tacky souveniers! We were there end of season so the pubs and the clubs were fairly empty. Also the place seriously smelt.... whether this was due to the flooding a few days before we arrived or whether its always like that i dont know! The Beach also appears to be clay?!

the resort was lovely loads and loads of bars for the teenagers and young at heart amongst us and a great selection of restaurannts and some of the most resonablally priced on the island.a must is the eat as much as you want restaurant near opposite taj mahal indian rstaurant.unfortunately we stopped in sofia appartments which were not up to standard at all.cold water all holiday a cleaner that visited twice in our week there and a broken bed that never was fixed so had to be propped up by suit case all week.i reccomend laganus but dont go to sofia appartments if u have booked it cancell.

We have been for 2 weeks, the first week was really busy but the second was really quiet! It is the end of the season in a few weeks, it seems to be lots of couples and families and the pubs and clubs are not that busy!

Me and my boyfriend got back from Laganas on Tuesday 23rd, we had a great time! We stayed at the Cactus, it was clean and had a nice pool! The night life was great, it had something for everyone!
I thought Zante town was awful! Far too expensive and smelt disgusting!
I recommend Romios for a nice meal and Chiellos bar around the corner from cosy corner is great for really cheap drinks before you hit the main strip!

does anybody know if laganas is still happening in october? and if it is still warm as me and my best mate are thinking of going there around october 1oth

hi,just got back from laganas last friday with my mate leon we had such a great time their!hopefully we will be back soon,their was plenty to do and see.the nightlife was exellent i would really reccomend most places out their,we had areally great time met some really great lads that were up for a laugh from telford really liked the way that munch surfed the lilo!also enjoyed on the last night their the wicked foam party it got really messy which was good!also at the hotel we stayed at which was angela!that was ok a little dirty,but it was ok for the week.if you or anyone remembers us email me i would really like to here from you especially the lads from telford!i bet you had a great bday trev.

Pipe down Kev! If you didnt read your brochure right then thats your own fault! Laganas is top draw! 13 of us spent two weeks there end July/beginning August and had a brilliant time. Gutted to be back nearly two months on! Stayed at the Christina Apartments in Laganas where the staff were really nice, the place was kept clean and tidy and the pool area was fantastic. Fully recommend it. Cost around £600 for the two weeks with Thomas Cook (flights included) which is a little pricey but fully recommend it as a family place and for youngsters also, aslong as you take into account there are people with young families there so you cant go on the rampage too much, especially as the owner, who was a top bloke to our certain crowd but could turn nasty if you rubbed him up the wrong way as we saw with another English group whilst we were there! The nightlifes excellent whether you want a few quietish bevvies after a nice meal or a full-on spillage-fest! Reccommend Bad Boys and Zeros if you're into RnB, the Karaoke Bar is good fun and if you're into cheese then Cocktails and Dreams is what you're looking for! The Beach is long but not very deep and a bit of a put-off to look at as cars are aloud to be driven on it at night and the sands a bit of a browney colour, but its generally clean and the seas great as you can walk out about 100m before you're underwater! Try hiring a boat out for a few hours and taking it to Turtle Island which has a nice secluded beach and you can see the turtles. All in all we had a fantastic time and would definatly go back. For a fun, alcohol-fuelled holiday I'd rate it better than Magaluf, Faliraki and Tenerife.

Had a fab time night life excellent.Next will see more of the island. The only horrible experience was the appartments they were disgusting. VILLA ALLIRI do not go near them.

my boyfriend & i just returned from laganas on monday and we fully recommend the resort to anyone! if you're looking for somewhere relatively cheap to stay that's near the beach and the main strip then go to the zante d'oro studios, 30 seconds from the beach and leaa than 5 mins onto the main strip! we recommend eating at the olympic flame and romios but pretty much everywhere does excellent food! good luck to anyone who goes on the boat trip to the shipwreck if you haven't got the best sea-legs though, maybe the sea would be a bit calmer in the height of summer!! have fun everyone that's going, we envy you!!

Laganas is a fantastic resort, Kev Harrison you must be a balding bloke from Sheffield, You are probably crap at pool too. I bet all you do is snoe around the simming pool all day.

Cheap, tacky, nasty, brash, pushy PR plonkers on every restaurant and bar door. Did my head in. Loads of different shops selling the same crap. OK if your idea of a holiday is stepping off the plane and getting off your head for the full duration of your hols. Best thing about Laganas is the road out of it!

Stayed in the Fantasy apartments over Prestige (a few a long from MacDonalds - very handy!!)walking distance from all the bars no matter how drunk, and 10 mins from beach. Look out for Michaels Restaurant - food can not be topped and very cheap. Avoid Tony the donut selling hustler, and the stories of his 7 "bambino's". Dont forget the Walkabout bar (if you can get up the stairs) with the more they drink, the more gorgous they think they are pole dancers - always a source of entertainment!!

We only visited Laganas at night but the choice of bars, shop and restaurants was excellent! If you are after a peaceful or typically Greek holiday, then Laganas is not for you. However, if you are a family with teenagers or a couple after a good time - Laganas has everything you could want!

I went to Laganas last year and i am going back monday i stayed at the galaxy last year but as i am going with different people i am staying at the sunflower apprtments and their is no rating in any brochures because it is fairly new has anyone stayed their and whats it like? I love laganas so much i want to but a place out there!!!!!
I have been to many greek islands and for people who want to have good time especially singles and couples [not really for families!]i think that the people are nicest and the atmosphere and attitude is better, whey to go zante hold on im comin!!!!

I was in Laganas back in 1989. It was starting to get a bit mad then. Returning with a mate 26th September 2003 - we are both very experienced qualified Scuba Divers and intend spending a lot of the holiday diving with the turtles and other wonderful wildlife. hey just back from zante a weeek ago,had a brilliant time and would will be considering going back.i went with my b/f we stayed in laganas (panorama hotel).we only had a few minutes to the strip each night.wow there was just such a great atmosphere,cheap drinks,friendly ppl,good food.. it was just amazing!

Laganas (as decribed by an English guy who runs a tour company there) is 'Hell on Earth'. We lasted one day in the resort before moving to Alykanas (good resort with quiet beaches, calm people, excellent traditional restaurants, overall 100 times better than Laganas). Laganas is great if you want loud music, to get drunk every night, packed beach (which is definitely not the best on the island!)and restaurants where you are bugged by greek waiters everywhere you go to eat at there place! We hated it and would never go back. We wanted a relaxing holiday in a great location and im afraid for couples and families seeking that then Laganas is not the place to go!

it was absolutly fantastic there in zante! very nice and hot it was 42 degrees when i went i got back about two weeks ago! the night life is exellent and some clubs are free. even if you just go to the resturants you will be entertained. the beaches are very clean and fun to be on. i am definaltly going back soon! xxxxxxx

ok anyone who loves nightlife has to visit zeros bar it was a blast the guys were friendly and funny. the Akropolis was an good restaurant and for a decent fry up the morning after try the robin hood on the main strip.
i would however avoid staying at the christina studios not to be confused with (as most of us who stayed there did) the christina apartments.

Has anyone stayed at the Cactus Apartments in Laganas, 4 of us are going there next Tuesday the 19th of August. Is the drink cheap out there because we are hoping to consume quite a large amount!!

Tanea, there is a really good restaurant on the beach called the Greek Island try it if you can. You even get a free drink after the meal. If you head down the strip towards the beach, turn left and its about 5 minutes walk. Also the Bee Garden Chinese is good, its on the main strip if you walking down towards the beach its on your left near the Esperia Hotel. Laganas is a top place, have a good time!

I went last year and the night life was brilliant although i only saw laganas at night cause i stayed on a different part of the island it still looked like a great place and i cant wait, to go back there.

Just returned home after a wonderful vacation in Laganas.We were located in a peaceful street near the beach which was very good. We especially liked beach bar/ taverna "Vezal" there. Very good food and excellent staff!Unfortunately, I can't find anything on the web about Vezal.....so here's the first one to name them and give them my very best compliments!

laganas was the best holiday we experienced.we would recommend it to any1.all clubs free entry and a free shot with a drink.the best clubs we went to were cherry bay,zero's and walkabout but before your night begins have a few drinks at billy's cotton bar, he's a quality bloke.we will definitly be going back next year because it was phat!!!! say hello to alex at cherry bay door. we love you zante.

Went 2 Zante 9th july best holiday yet.All the clubs are free entry.The strike was a bummer.Bars turn music off at midnightor they're supposed 2, but the clubs can leave it on.Fri sat and sun cherry bay is open till 7.Ocean inn is every nite"!! The strip even has a Mc Donalds! Dont go 2 the chinese it makes u poorly.say hello to geaorge 4 me he has the restaurant at the opposite end of the beach to the strip. Went to Laganas on the 13th July and stayed at the Aprhodite Hotel. I loved the beach - the sea was so nice and relaxing.
Nightlife was always lively - my fave place was Cocktails and Dreams! Definitely a great place to go, quite clean and always sunny!
I always felt safe - but ive heard stories while I was there of people getting glassed and stuff. The rose sellers are really annoying - some of them were quite nasty and persistent.
Wouldnt reccommed it for people who want a quiet holiday - zante town seemed a pretty place.
Most of us got ill over there - so do be careful with where and what you eat and drink.
Apart from that a really fun loving place, very beautiful - you must see the turtles!
A great experience!

I can tell you that there is alot of 18-30 on the resort they are not realy to much in your face.
there are also a lot of club Freestyle their but there ok, and usualy are not to much of a problem.
are you going there for a relaxing break or are you looking to party the night away, if so you will not be dissapointed, although i have not been there since they introduced the Euro, so I haven't a clue to the prices.
When are you off their then?
Iam off their myself on the 4th august (this monday) and cant wait lovely break from the English weather, it also has a lush beach and I can recommend a club called cherrybay beach club, unreal(check it out yourself at www.cherrybay.com I recomend you look in the gallery you can check out the pictures from the last couple of months.

really amazes me how people can complain about such a place. U want a quiet clean holiday, or somewhere suitable for the family, just take one look in a 18-30 brochure if the resorts in that aviod it, really is it that hard! laganas was such a nice place, great for everything, and it wasnt dirty at all, ive seen far worse trust me, but what do u expect its not england! u cant expect somewhere like greece to be the same as england, even though i'd say i'd been far dirtier places in england. Stop complaining about a fantastic place, and do some research before u book your next holiday!

Having just returned (yesterday) from Laganas, yuk, never again, no class at all! The beach is dirty and polluted, open to traffic in the evenings too. The main strip is great if you want a holiday similar to something you might see on Holiday Reps Uncovered but has no style at all. There is plenty of choice for the very very young and this suited my 17 year old but nothing much for anyone over 25 despite the fact that we like to go out and have a good time. Avoid Wild Coyote unless you enjoy watching people throw up after guzzling too much alcohol in one go! We visited Tsilivi and Vassilikos and they are much much nicer so would go back to Zante but not Laganas. Clean it up!!

yes rescue is free 2 get in2 but zeros nextdoor is much better. the atmosphere and the crowd is brill

Quiet night on the balcony? Think you went to the wrong resort luv, Laganas definately ain't quiet - and thank god for that!

i have just come back from the plaza, what a joke, it was too noisy especially at night when me and my husband wanted a quiet night in on the balcony and all we could hear was diabolical screeching coming from the bar in the name of entertainment called karaoke, when i complained to the wonderful george (not) he just shrugged his shoulders and grunted.

is it true that the "rescue" club is free to get in to? cheers

The bar staff are so friendly and the best place for lots or old skool music is "Cocktails and Dreams" the are two major night clubs called "zeros" and "Resuce". There is also a club on the beach and at weekends it is open till 8am its called "Cherry Bay". There are loads of lovely restuarants and if you are a long way from the beach then there are many hotles on the main road where you can use their pool. There is only one place to go for a foam party and thats "black and White". For all those women going out the "Bull Dog" (which is down a side street where G Spot is, you will know when you get there) have strippers who go the whole way. it is a grt place and i would go back there in a shot.

those flower sellers...right b***hes some of em!! watch out coz they nick money out ya pockets and one of them even slapped me for not buyin a rose.. even one of the little lads tried to snog my mate nadja - yuck!! they aint that bad tho if u just ignore em and tell em u aint interested... :)

Me and a bunch of mates went to Laganas the first two weeks in July and I can honestly say it was the best damn holiday Ive ever been on. Full of drunk idiots but not as trashy as a 'Club Rep' style resort. We encountered a bit of trouble out there...one of my mates was attacked late at night on the beach, apparently there were a bunch of Albanians out there and the beach isnt the safest place late at night if youre on your own. Another of my mates had the clever idea of running over the top of a taxi, which got him battered by a bunch of greeks (who did have knives, I might add) and cost him 500 Euros, but, hell, he asked for that that one, eh?

I'm travelling out to Zante on 28th July with four other 22 year old girls and wondered if anyone else was staying in the Zante Park Hotel?

Although what is the crack with the airport? as i hav heard its tiny and you have to stand outside for ages. I came back from Laganas on 20 July after being there for one excellent week. The nightlife was what made it as we found the restaurants were pretty un-appetising - apart from MacDonalds of course, although they don't do Sausage and Egg McMuffins! Bad Boys, Ghetto and Zeros Club were excellent. I particularly liked Cocktails and Dreams - which we nicknamed Cocks and Violations, as you were constantly getting felt up in there. I went back every night!

We stayed at the Savvas apartments which were pretty basic. The pool bar constantly played Heaven by DJ Sammy but that was eventually drowned out by the ear infections you get from the murky water. If you can hire a fan do so, coz it got up to 47 degrees while I was there.

When you are travelling back from Zante airport, wear comfy shoes and as little as possible, because you have to wait outside for nigh-on zillions of years in the 47 degree heat to check in and coz the airport is the size of a shoe-box there isn't anywhere to sit down.

I'd definately go back if you are looking for great nightlife. I went to Ibiza two months earlier and that was crap compared to Laganas if you ask me.

We got back on the 10th july and we loved every minute of it! still wnt 2 go back! we mite go n work there nxt summer. we stayed at ikaros n ignore what that adam said, tom at chigaco dint think he wa gods gift, he WAS gods gift! GO PVR!!! ant at hot lips what a nice guy n the 2 garys at g spot they r alrite too. if u go 2 ne of these bars tell em all the 2 janeys from selby said hiya!!!!! gotta go to cocktails n dreams too it rocks! the song of my holiday wa "Love like this b4" faith evans n crooklyn clan it wa everywhere. oh n cnt 4get billie jean!

one lad and 5 gals... got back from zante on sunday and had an amazing time.. stayed in the evgenia studios which is 5mins from the main strip..any one who stayed there around the 13th july get in touch! Daresis on the beach is a really nice bar to go to before hitting the main strip.. Maria the spanish barmaid who works every night is a star! Kamikazi was our favourite bar - thnx Georgio, mario, kim and the rest of the staff for an amazing week..even if u did set me on fire and squirt cream all over my face!! Waikiki was another great place.. Alex - i think she really likes ya!! The beach wasnt the nicest but the pool at our appartments were as far as most of us could crawl to after getting back at 6.30am most mornings! if anyone is going there soon get Maria to give me her email address and tell her i need a copy of that photo!!! Bad Boys was another good place with amazin music - all the latest r&b, hip hop tunes.. although it did get kinda hot in there! definitely worth doing a final huge bar crawl on the last night... even if u have to fly back home at 12pm on a sunday.. just dont expect to feel fine when u get to the airport-specially if uve got a hangover!! Laganas is such a great place if you want a good nightlife. We stayed in the Alexander hotel on the Kalamaki road so we were about 20 mins away from the strip. Hot lips is a great karaoke bar. Good places to go on the strip are Cocktails and dreams were the music is greta, zeros, rescues, prestige and cherry bay. There is quite alot of trouble though in Laganas, alot of the greek men do carry guns. Hopefully we are going back in the last week of August!

where is all this twaffle about guns and knives in Laganas coming from??? I've been there 3 years running and not seen one knife or gun carried by the Greeks!Or been robbed,mugged or anything else!!! I find this very unfair.Anyone else feel the same???

Came back a week ago from my holiday and I can't wait to go back nxt year. I stayed at Kostas Studio Apartments which was a very nice place. We named the owner Mr Kostas, he was a joker. Everytime he spoke to us he kept saying if u break something u pay for it. Just across the road is Ikaros Hotel/Chicago bar which we spent most of our time, in the pool and on the pool tables. If u ever go there say hello to Pete, Nico, Tom and Jenny. Pete was a legend at Killer Pool, Jenny she was funny, Tom thought he was god's gift and Nico he was the chef but was heavy at pool. Now as for the nightlife it was wicked u hav a fat road full of clubs,bars and restaurants called the Strip. Best time to go out I'd say would be at the time of the Happy Hours. Clubs usually run till 4am. The best club I went to was Black & White which has a foam party every monday and wednesday. Foam parties are wicked however for this club u must pay 5 euros to get in but if u like rnb, hip-hop, garage and bashment theres no doubt that u will have a wicked time. Also if ur into pool theres a pool tournament every saturday, 3 euros to enter and the prize is 150 euros at MUST sports bar say hello to bekky shes well sweet. This place has cocktails at 2 euros all day and everyday. The best beach we went to was St.Nicholas beach which is much better than laganas beach and it also has the watersports. Banana boat was 10 euros each, Pedalo 10 euros for an hour and as for others they were quite dear. The People are very friendly but restaurants all try to mob u to go and eat at their place. There are bout 4-5 cashpoints but be careful 10's and 20's go very quicky so u r only left with 50's and it takes quite a while for them to be filled up again. Another thing which is bad is that u can't check ur balance unless u hav a credit card so do not jus rely on ur card bring some travellers cheques too cos u can spend a lot of money in Laganas without noticing it. One thing about Laganas is that walking to places is quite long and tiring especially in the heat. I rented a ped from Dennis rentals it cost me 10 euros a day but 55 euros for a week. The longer u keep the peds the cheaper it gets. All u need is a full or provisional license but be very careful cos the roads hav a lot of pot holes and greek drivers are a bit nuts. It was emotional when i gave my ped back :p. Food and essentials to live are very cheap. The Kebabs there are very cheap 1.50 and taste real nice and most of the fast food places stay open really late so if u feel hungry after ravin it out theres alwayas a place where u can grab some munch. Laganas is a wicked place and i cant wait to go back. If u go in a group get ready for Big Brother cos a lot of chat, ups and downs happen especially if u r not really tight. LAGANAS CV CREW 2003 :D!!!

Well what can i say?! this was the most amazing holiday. we went clubbing everynight and being girls we got most of our drinks free! including hundreds of free shots! the barmen just wanna get u drunk. its not very good for shopping but who comes here to shop?!
were both only 16 but we had the most amazing nights out and made friends with lots of barmen! ;)

dnt worry if ur not 18 n dnt look it coz they let every1 in2 the clubs! there r loads ov fit lads if ur lookin 4 em n most ov the time they come lookin 4 u! the beach isnt the best but the nightlife is great and the sea is really clear! ne1 goin will have a great time just look out for the annoyin gypsy rose sellers they will literally take the money out ov ur pockets!

Been to Laganas 3 times and i love the place.For anyone who doesn't know the main street it is full of bars and clubs and for anyone who wants a quieter time there are tavernas and resturaunts set away from the busier nightlife.
Not sure how the change to euro has effected the place but i think on average prices have tended to go up by at least 17%.
On the whole i can't wait to go back in August!

Hi Nina, As far as I know Greeks don't go round carrying knives and Laganas is a safe place, I've been there twice with my 3rd time next month and I've never heard of any attacks from Greeks with knives nor have I experienced violence of any kind. I have found them very friendly people,so relax get out there and enjoy your holiday, but like any one else will tell you just be careful ok!! Also I don't know if they ask for ID.hope you find this helpful take care xx

Plenty to do,great trips are organised,robinson crusoe trips by sea,coach tours round the island,turtle trips,car hire for leisurely sightseeing.more or less guaranteed sunshine,a long 9km beach to stroll across,the cameo bar reached by a wooden bridge the other side of the harbour,the views are breathtaking and you gotta have ago on the Pedalos,they are wicked fun,lots of beach vendors who take no for an answer,the people of Laganas are wonderful too,friendly,polite,and very warm.We are heading out there in 5 weeks today and can't wait 2 weeks of pure heaven !! If you haven't yet been what are you waiting for?? Apartments basic but clean,streets clean,no nasty surprises under foot for those who go barefoot!!

14 controversial messy mullets set to investigate the zante spillage over the course of 3 weeks from the 20th July. Anyone got any info on the Christina Apartments? One thing I've noticed is that there's all kinds of Students/hub cap thiefs complaining about the price of drinks- £3.70 a drink is not expensive when you live near London and you're used to paying that anyway on a normal night out. As for rumours of pistols being pulled on people down back alleys- blatent waffle- its Laganas, not Liverpool!!!

hey ppl just got bak from laganas. had a wicked 2 weeks. just to let u know that its quite expensive wen buying drinks. my advice would be to get pissed before u go out. or just drink cocktails wen ur out. every bar and club is absolutley bangin especially cherry bay bar wit the shower and cocktails and dreams. watch out 4 the bouncers at cocktails and dreams though complete set of w**kers. also ull be waitin 4 a drink 4 bout 5 mins as the barmen serve all the birds even though they havent waited as long as u. also dont walk down ne bak alleys on ur own as me and my m8 had a shot gun pulled on us. also watch out 4 the greeks as they all carry knifes on them as my m8 had 1 pulled on him. watch out 4 the flower sellers as they r very crafty, just tell them to f**k off and keep ur hands in pockets. other than let it was a brill time. must rent out speed boats on the beach. all restuarants r great value 4 money. best 2 weeks of my life.

Went to Laganas in May going back next year loved it, our best bar was crocs wicked cocktails loved the turtels didn't want to leave, hot lips did the best breaksfast and best new films

Hi, just got back from Laganas and had a good time. However, would not recommend it for family's. Excellent for single people and couples. Beach was okay, but spoilt due to traffic being allowed to drive along at night. Sea water is excellent, you can walk out far and it is still shallow. Main strip gets very lively at night, lots of 18-30 therefore would not recommend it for young kids. Good thing was that their was no trouble. Weather red hot. Watch out for the Airport - nightmare, just be prepared to have to wait. Drinks start at 1.5 euros about 90p for a large bottle of beer, but I was advised it went up to around £6.00 late at night. Resturants were good value for money.

Hi all again, off to laganas on hunnymoon for 2 weeks on july 14th, been a few times b4 love it loads. THE FLIGHT IS 31/2 TO 4 HOURS and the airport isn't up to much BUT!!!!!! What comes after more than makes up for it. If anyone wants advice on spending money take plenty, my fiance and I spent £700 in 1 week last year, it does obviously depend on what trips you plan to do and obviously how much u plan to drink (we do lots of trips and drink LOADS!!!) Greeks are really friendly, much nicer than any other european country I been to, they seem to genuinely want you there. Watch out for the rose sellers, they wont take no for an answer, if they force roses into your hande resisit coz they'll make u buy them, bloody irritating!! Also I hear what your saying about ablbanians my fiance and I were followed back to hotel by a group of them, but this does usually only happen at the beginning of the season as he greek police come over and ship em out, we wene it august the year b4 and had no probs whatsoever, also my fiance been few times b4 and he had no probs after may time. Don't worry bout them ne way just stay together and lagnas strip is usually buzzin 2 many people about, when i was there the club owners wouldny even let them in the clubs so that was cool!!!
Well if ur there in july see u there, u will have a fab time I promise.
PS if you want a quiet holiday stay AWAY fram laganas!!!

u have to go to this place. it was a great laugh. Panorama hotel was awesome (pedro and demtrius were so friendly). It is a place to stay up all night and sleep on the beach all day (didn't get back b4 5 any day) but it is also ok if ur not into that sort of stuff. a lot of my friends weren't and it has nice restaurants and lots of tourist things to do too

Me and my Girlfriend have just come back today and we loved the place we found some great clubs such as Zeros, G-spot and bad boys to name a few.
Laganas beach didn't impress us but we did find a great beach, i don't really want to put the name of it on the internet obviously but if you want to know the name and where it is e-mail me at fruitlinkuk@aol.com.
If you are looking for a dancing, clubbing sort of holiday then well stay home, but as we left there was a new club opening called black & white we went there for the opening night, they play R&B, Hip Hop and garage very good but we were there on the opening night and it wasn't fully done when we was there, well put it this way they were still putting the doors on while we were sitting there waiting to go in ;)
just look after your money we run out with 3 days to go, well if you are going to Zante it is very good, a bit backwards but good.

a big group of us dotted around england have just got back from laganas (we met there last year)it was once again fantastic!!! If you want a really good night out away from the main strip then visit the mon repo pool bar opposite akropolis restaurant up from the beach club nightclub. This is where the funniest barmen in laganas hide they will entertain you all night with their antics. they also have a great bar b que on a sat night with greek dancing and lots of zante vinegar....i mean wine!!!!!! One thing to remember when walking alone at night keep your handbags very close to you and if poss dont take one out as it is true what they say the albanias are out there, i should know i was robbed by one of them. So just be careful walk home in pairs and youll be fine. Enjoy your hols!!!!!!!!!!

My fiance (will be hubby when we go) are off on hunnymoon to laganas, 3rd time we been there in 2 yrs, plus hes been a couple of time before. We adore the place, yes rooms are basic, but all ur gonna do there is sleep and shower. We were staying in Tzante hotel which was on doorstep of main strip, but it got cancelled last wk due to probs with airtours, we were gutted but we are going to laganas hotel which kc's been to before, lovely hotel, huge pool a bit of a walk but thats ok coz you can make a pit stop on the way to town in hotlips bar, wonderful bar, especially if u want a night off from the town but want a good night out! the owners Tracey and Nick the greek are superb, and they do the best brekkie in greece, ask for a full monty.
If anyone is wondering how much spending money to take for 2 weeks TAKE ALOT! Partying goes on most of the night, but beer is flowing 24/7, theres nothing like an ice cold amstel by the pool when ur lapping up the greek sunshine.
As you can probably tell we adore the island, we'd live there if we could, so if anyone is there between 14/28 july, post a message to us!!

ARRIVED BACK AFTER 2 FANTASTIC WEEKS IN LAGANAS. STAYED @THE IKAROS HOTEL OK BUT THE ROOMS ARE A BIT BASIC. CHICAGO BAR ATTACHED TO HOTEL IS LIVELY, ALSO CALL IN AT AMIGOS BAR, LUPPERS AND TRAVELLERS REST FOR FOOTBALL AND FILMS DURING THE DAY. MARY'S BAR, KOSTAS AND FRIENDS IS GREAT FOR BREAKFAST, BUT FOR THE BEST MEAL IN LAGANAS GO TO 'RELAX' NEAR THE GARDEN OF EDEN.
BEACH IS GREAT FOR YOUNG KIDS AS THE SEA IS ONLY 30cm DEEP FOR THE FIRST 50/70 METRES. HOPE TO GO BACK AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER.
AS SAID BY OTHERS AIRPORT IS CRAP BUT MUST GET BETTER IN FUTURE.
WE WERE ALSO DELAYED BY THE BROKEN DOWN PLANE.

hi!i've been to laganas 3 times in a year and i go again in 4 weeks,i've stayed at hotel laganas,which is alright,basic,but nice pool and one you get settled in it's a nice hotel,i've also stayed at castelli,it's ok,but spiros closes the doors at 2am and you have to wake him up to get in,you also get a 10minute lecture when you arrive on what you're allowed to do.can't remember the name of the other one,but it was the best.all in all laganas is a great night out,just watch out for the bar men and watch for a certain flower seller,she bit me!!!

5 essex girls returned from Laganas at the weekend and we had a wicked time try these hot spots. Cherry Bay dance in the shower if you dare but be carefull i slipped and got concussion, music is cheesy great if your battered! Bad Boys music is a mixture which is good Essex boy Dougie and his partner in crime Shauney will look after you. Zeros after a few at the bar go through to the club dance on the bar and have a good time watch the barmen they like to set the bar on fire which makes some pretty tricky dance moves! Bounty Bar make friends with Costas nd he'll supply you with all the free drink you need before heading off to your fav club. Word of warning to the ladies when a flower seller comes round watch your bags! Have a great time wish i was there again!

I love the brits and think they are great for a laugh, but it's always nice to see a few people from your own country.

I came back yesterday from Laganas and i thought it was absolutely bangin at nite. My fav bar was Bad Boys, they open til 4 and the music is 5hit hot, and bar staff are a laugh as well.

The bar men in Rescue's are absolutely brilliant i loved all of there acts and routines. In fact i loved all the bar men on the resort. Had a wicked holiday and would definatley recommend it to friends. I will also definatley return to Laganas next year.

Sorry Vikki! What I meant was you can't predict an actual time when earthquakes are going to happen say for example when a hurricane is going to hit land you can predict it because you can see it forming. But with earthquakes you can't see then forming, only really by the movements under the surface of the Earth which doesn't leave very much time to do anything about them! Because the Ionian Sea where Zante lies is fairly close to a tectonic plate margin, or certainly Greece does, it's expected that they will happen at some point because of this! Lucky its not Turkey, its got 5 plate margins running through!

Hope i've cleared that up, haha! Sorry I'm not really a freak knowing all that, just when you have studied geography fo a few years ya kinda have to take it in!! Ummm as for an earthquake this year well it kinda explains itself doesn't it?

Cheers Kate, I might be blonde but I think you just totally contradicted yourself! You said that earthquakes weren't predictable but the rumbles and tremors last year weren't unexpected! Should I rephrase my question then, is an earthquake expected this summer?!

The earthquakes can't be predicted as they just happen with no warning. Hense thats why they cause so much distruction! Around the Ionian sea region there a lot of earthquakes all year around, I know last year was quite bad and there was a few tremors that could be felt but I don't think they came completely unexpected.

Someone asked if Laganas was too in yer face for 45 year olds, well I went a couple of years ago for a week in May and liked it so much I went back for two weeks in September and I am well over 45 (sadly)...its a place for all ages, lots of 18 to 30s go and have a brill time, but its also fine for the oldies and the kiddies.
The food and drinks cheap, the weathers good, and the locals are friendly.

Does anybody have any more information on the expected earthquake of summer 2003? I know there were rumbles last year, thank God I wasn't there to actually witness them, but I've heard a rumour of an earthquake hitting between July and October 2003. Can anybody tell me if this is true?

I went Oct 02 with my boyfriend, we stayed in the Aphrodite apartments, which were friendly, quite basic, but quite far away, about 30 mins walk but theres some nice restaurants on the way. It was sun bathing weather but cloudy and when the clouds went in it was cold. We hired a Moped, it was fun. It was really cold at night, needs sleeves and trousers on. There are lots of nice restaurants and bars to go in.

I went to the poseidon a few years a go and its a really nice hotel, the bar there is a little espenisve however....its right on the beach where u have to walk to get the the main strip, there is a short vut that will lead u to the aries swiming pool but i cant remember, you must try the greek island restuarant it is excellent.

Ive been before, and like i say everytime i come back, i thought it was abulous. This year i have persuaded my mates to try it with me, and we jetting off at the beginning of july, yay i cannot wait!!!

I stayed in the posiedon beach last year and im going back in july. the hotel is fab but a bit out of the way- you can take a walk along the beach to the nightlife and it'll only take 5 mins but if you dont want to get sandy walking through the streets will take you about 15. I dont know what the weather will be like but back in august it was scorching. The hotel as far as i know was finished the end of last season.

Hi everyone, the last time I went to laganas was october and that was definatley a week to remember!! Anyone who is going for the first time cheak out zeros bar/club its amazing the night life is great!
But watch out for the bar staff, there only there for one thing but then again so are most of us. Hope to see you all there this year, Aimee.xx

Its great in Zante, specially in Laganas. Well visit it this August too. The beach is great and the nightlife is Sexy. Visit the Ship wreck too, its the best beach in all the world.

first time i went to Zante i was 12 years old and that was 10 years ago. Stayed at Laganas, back then it was fairly lively but not as lively as it now sounds!

the place to go.excellent nightlife,safe sandy beach,clear warm sea,plenty of taverna's and a mcdonalds.boat trips to turtle island to see the turtles that is a must,the pedalo's are fun,shopping is good too,a good selection of shops.safe clean streets so no nasty surprises under foot if you venture barefoot.there is a water park on the main road to zante a go cart park and a outdoor barbecue on the kalamaki main road called fatso's eat & drink all you can for a fixed price per person not overly expensive and very enjoyable.if you want fun fun fun and sun go to laganas.

a fantastic place to go on holiday.been out there in september and october both nice times of year to go especially if you have young children not too hot.this year we're going mid august.the nightlife is heaving,beach is wonderful locals very friendly plenty of shops bars and taverna's to choose from.a nice clean resort.

Went to Laganas lastr year and am going again next year. It was the best holiday i have ever been on. The JMC reps are great and everyone in Laganas was so friendly. You feel really comfortable walking around Laganas. The nightlife is great, unfortunately when we went we had a storm and it rained quite abit. It was still very very hot and we did get plenty of sunshine, because of the rain the beach wasnt as nice as it could have been but when the sand dried it was lovely. You have to go on the cruise to the shipwreck beach it is the nicest beach and water i have ever seen in my whole life. Stayed in the zante park hotel and it was great, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Really worth going to. You do get forced to go into restaurants but if you say no they usually accept that.

Hello eveyone, Laganas is WICKED. there are amazing bars with amazing barmen (especially Zeros) it is a place for anyon but particularly the young ones-trust me i know ive been twice and its great. Go to Zeros to meet George he is something else- a mind blower in bed and really sexy but be careful hes got loads of women.x

I'm staying at the Olympia from 13th July for 2 weeks and I stayed there last year in July. The night life is excellent, if a bit far away! It takes about 10 minutes to walk into town and that can turn into a half hour trek when your wrecked and on your way home. We always took the horse and cart, but be sure to check a price first as some charge extortionate amounts. There are bars and clubs all over. I went to Ibiza last year and I would say Zante had more quality bars although the clubs ain't all that. Rach and Hannah, that should sort you out! Hope to see you out there!

I'd just like to reply to the comment about the Fantasy Apts. I admit it wasnt the best hotel we'd stayed in but when we went in 2002 it had only just been built. I will admit there was a bit of a problem with water on the ground floor, but I have to say 18-30 most definately DID NOT rip us off. I think if you have not been to a resort before, signing up for the trips is the best way to find the decent bars, pubs and clubs, and meet people. I went on my first 18-30 as a late deal in 2001, went to Laganas last year and planned this years holiday to Magaluf on the train home from the airport. I would definately reccomend it. They were up there with the best weeks of my life...and definately the best holiday I have ever had

i went to zante for a month i know quite a few great places my best mates family live out there ill be back out there in june or july 03.

Hi, as I said before, I went to Laganas last year and it was excellent. Kev, best place to stay that is still close by but away from the main street enough so that you're not kept awake is down by the Carwash. There is a hotel opposite called the Olympia and I stayed there last year and it was excellent. Clean, safe and quiet at night and lively in the day. There was also a hotel being built opposite (but there wasn't any disruption from this) and it may be ready this year but I don't know what it is called. That might be worth some research.
Anywhere you stay in Laganas is generally quite close to the action. You never really have to walk for more than two minutes before coming across a bar.
For the people asking bout clubs and bars, all of them charge roughly the same prices for drinks and there was no entry fee for Zero's or Rescue, the two main nightclubs. They aren't very expensive but that all depends on how much you can drink I spose!
Well hopefully I will see some of you out there! I'm there with two mates from 13th July for two weeks and we will be partying hard!

Message to Kev Murray- We stayed in Laganas last September in the Aphrodite Apts. They are far enough out the town to avoid all the noise when u don't want it, yet only a very short and very cheap taxi ride away if u do want to go out on the town. Spiros will order your taxi from the Aphordite Pool Bar, but order it about 30 mins b4 u want to go, sometimes it took a while!!!!

The Apts are really, really clean and the pool is lovely.We really enjoyed our stay here and were lucky to get these apts because alot of the accomodation is in town above shops or bars and clubs and for me that would have been a nightmare!!!, so i strongly recommend the Aphrodite!!!. I will say the only drawback is, it is quite a walk to the beach in the day, however we hired mopeheads for the week, it's cheap enough.......

laganas is the perfect resort for families,couples,friends etc..it has a lot of nightlife,the loggerhead turtles are amazing in the water,the blue caves are also amazing,i recommend the trip to the shipwreck.

i am going to zante next july with my girlfriend, we want to be close to the action but also away from it all, anyone got any ideas on where to stay??

We stayed at the fantasy hotel in laganas(18-30) for the last two weeks of September. The hotel had its bad points, it smelt of raw sewage and we were on the ground floor which had a constantly flooded hallway. The 18-30 excursions were a rip off and were double the price you would pay anywhere else. The nightlife is really good with loads of cocktails bars but going out at night is a nightmare because every restaurant or bar has someone outside trying to get you to go in to their establishment. The weather was hot but it did rain on a couple of days. The beach is terrible, it has solid sand and is really dirty and crowded. I wouldn't go there again and I would most definitely never go on an 18-30 holiday, they are noisy, rip you off, knock on your doors in the early hours of the morning and are likely to make you pay for damages when you leave even if you haven't caused any-they will make them up!

This is for anyone going to LAGANAS on the island of ZANTE,i have been six times & i think thats speaks for its self.The beach is one of the best i have ever been on,i have been to MEXICO & the CARRIBIAN but LAGANAS beach is the best.Very clean & shallow warm water,its a must!!

amazing place. went there in oct and it was very hot. make shore you explore, hire a car and go to the diffrent beaches. you gotta go to turtle Island. and the sun seekers cruse.

I went to Laganas in August 2002 with three other girls.We had both our best and worst holiday in two weeks.In the first week we all got this dealy sickness and diarohea bug.Our kind holiday rep told us it wasn't that bad over 80% of the holiday makers who come on the island get this bug.We unfortunly missed the first whole week in bed or to be more accurate in the toilet! In our second week we hired a car traveled the island and got very drunk and danced the night away in the fantastic nightlife Laganas offers. Wouldn't choose this destination again unless their was a guaruantee of no illness.Go to Maila instead now thats excellent!!

I had a fantastic holiday in laganas went in August for 14nts. I stayed at the Angela, a Club 18-30 hotel on the main strip of Laganas which is a bonus for when your hammered. Bars & clubs are on the doorstep but the hotlier is weirdo! Its a fab resort for young adults & couples I met my boyfriend in Rescues Nighclub which is a bonus. But ladies beware of the freaky greeks stick too Northern lads like me!

I went to Laganas this year from 11th to 26th July and stayed at the Olympia Hotel with my mate Jackie. I loved it so much I have booked up again for next year at the same hotel. Anyone going during this time get in touch. Didn't get to the beach, but I did make it to the bars and every one we went in was great. Hot Lips was our favourite closely followed by the Pink Panther. Don't expect a quite beach holiday if u go to Laganas, you will be disappointed!

Got back from Laganas just over a week ago and i wish i had missed the plane home as we had so much fun! lots of good day trips about, Zakfari and boat trip around the island.Lots of bars to visit like rescue and zeros but my fave place was bad boys on the corner of the beach. The guy in there called Spiros was a great laugh, even when we had a power cut due to a storm he kept everyone smiling, he also does the nicest shots ie Mexican tequila and sunset or sunrise but watch out for his submarines! Cant wait to go back next year. Stayed at Toni's studios which were lovely although no pool you are close enough for the beach, they also have a really cute puppy who is horny! Would recommend Laganas to everyone who likes a wild time!!!!!

We spent our holidays in Laganas in September 2002 being accomodated at the small pension "Cleopatra". It was great, many surprising adventures.

Spent a week in laganas and wanted to come home well before the week was out. If you want to have an intelligent conversation with someone this is not the place to be. Utterly BORED out of my head nothing to look at at and nothing to do except drink and drink and drink. I can do that at home and with a lot more stimulating conversation. Have had more fun been laid up in hospital on a ventilator.........

Four of us stayed at the Aphrodite Apts 8-15th Sept.The Apts are absoloutely immaculate and could not be faulted in anyway at all. Laganas was great and really lively, we didn't see any trouble at all, however some others said different!!.We mostly went in Wakiki Bar and Rescues, which were both good! (apart form the toilets!!!!). I would defo recommend Laganas, the Aphrodite Apts are far enough out of the town to avoid it if you want nightlife just jump in a taxi (well we did cos we r lazy). Luce, Tim, Christian and Louise say Hi to Jenny, Howard, Toni and Keith, who we met over there!!.

4 of us just got home from a week here. stayed at aphrodite appartments, which cannot be faulted in any way....spiros the owner runsa good place and takes no s**t from anyone...so lager louts and noisy people beware if ya staying there. beach was ok but not clean and as for sand well more like near mud but then suppose the rain didnt help it much. no watersports only pedlos. as for th nightlife yep theres loads ya can sure overdose on it but after a few days you will pick ya fave places as they all try to do nearly the same thing. had a great time there and if anyone was there 8th - 14th sept did ya see the guys with the sky digital monkey.....they made a night to remember and a holiday not to be forgotten. wont go back to laganus but will visit the island again.

To any Irish people heading to Laganas beware! WE just got back and for the entire two weeks we could not relax. The place is full of English lager louts who intimidate and patronise people. For the entire two weeks we were there we saw plenty of English lads with black eyes, bust lips etc.etc. We also went to a karaoke bar where an Irish girl was told not so politely to leave by an English girl in the toilet because she wasn't supposed to be there!! Get a life. This is obviously their idea of a good holiday - getting pissed, fighting and intimidating people. Now i can see why they were voted the worst tourists! Ignorant knackers. Beware!!

Best resort on the island. There is plenty of life if you want it and lots of chill out as well. All ages could enjoy a holiday here. Food in Ionian Sea on corner of main strip and Kalimaki road was the best. Just opposite on the other corner Fanari was pretty good and according to the other half had the best looking waiters. Garden of Eden, Olympic Flame were OK. Hot Lips was the worst food I have had the misfortune to eat, the staff were slow rude and unhelpful, just don’t go there. Strangely, the rather unusual combination of Chinese and Indian restaurant a couple of doors up, though staffed by some of the same people as Hot lips was pretty good, but more expensive than UK. Kostas Taverna was excellent for breakfast and lunchtime and OK for the evening. If you want lively bars, the main strip has plenty and they’re all fairly similar, but pretty good none the less. For the best cappuccino a good range of cocktail at reasonable prices, Cream down the Kalimaki road is worth stopping at. It’s quite mellow and the service was great. The beach is good sand and slopes gently into the sea. Safe for kids and fun for adults. Plenty of beach bars and sunbeds even in high season. We'd certainly go back.

Alex, stayed in Barbara Studios from the 31st July to the 7th August this year, lovely place to stay Babara is very friendly and helpful. The Havana pool is next door to the studio's. It is well located! Have a brill hol, we sure did!

Had a great holiday in Laganas for the past 2 weeks. Beach culd be cleaner but OK. Also island is subject to earth tremors so beware of rattling sunbeds and the earth moving (in more ways than one!)

Great place to stay. Sunrise Appts - clean and local to the shops, nightlife and beach. Great pool around the corner - Aries. Try it.

Went to laganas about 3 weeks ago and had a fab girly holiday and met some grea people. the reps are ace. go to cocktails and dreams cuz its cool and the musics not bad either. we went to a cocktail place called viva, down the road from G spot, they make the best cocktails. Zeros and Rescues are the best clubs to go to after the bars go quiet. have fun everyone! p.s dont go on any boat trips, they are crap and a waste of money!!!

Me & my boyfriend went to Laganas on 28 June 02 & we had the best holiday EVER! The beach is beautiful & not too crowded. The nightlife is excellent with Ghetto being our favourite by far! Also, check out Zero's & Wild Coyote which are wicked too. Everyone is realy friendly & just out for a laugh & it makes a change to being in the uk! The weather was wicked with everyday being cloud free & over 90 degrees! Try & go turtle spotting & on the shipwreck excursion - breathtaking.

i just got back from zante, went with 8 of my mates we had a great time and i was so tempted to stay out there and work! but im lookin out 4 cheap deals 2 go back soon, id recommend it to anyone whos up 4 a laugh and loves the sunshine, plus the barmen r very nice too!

Yeah it is true about Mcdonalds.... it is on the main street in laganas about half way between zero's and cherry bay. We went there once and it tasted nicer then over here. Laganas is the best place on the island, its lively, but not too.... I cant wait to go back next year.

WOW just got back from Lagana's yesterday, I have to say that it was the best place i have been to for a long time, me and my friend are planning to go back in 4 weeks. The bars and clubs especially Rescue are exellent and this is coming from someone who dosnt even like listening to dance or r&b music! i'm ella's boyfriend. laganas is a brilliant place to relax, eat and party. top 2 places you must eat at ; 1. taverna kostas on kalamaki road 2. crystal beach hotel resteraunt in klamaki taxis cost 5 euro's anywhere locally so don't pay more. watch the latest films before they are released at hot lips on kalamki road near kostas. there is a mcdonalds on laganas road near the beach, but why would you eat there as the local food is better and cheaper. try the swordfish it is amazing. i saw no violence when i was there just the usual t**t you get everywhere. don't bother going on the boat with the glass bottom to see the turtles from the beach as the glass is dirty and you can't see anything anyway, so just go on a normal boat. drinking is cheap, with cocktail for the ladies at 2 euro's and for the lads mithos at 1.80. drinking in the club is an expensive business so drink before hand. for the ladies take lots of repellent for the night time not to get bitten on your lovely legs. ella advises me citeronella oil is best as she used it on her long legs and trust me they are long.

My boyfriend and i just got back from you weeks in laganas. It was fantastic. Its more calm at night than other clubbing resorts. Try a Happy Youth fishbowl at the Summertime bar. I felt safe in laganas as we never saw any violence or trouble. Go on a boat trip around the island its a really good day out. Dont book with your rep they are too pricy. Any one staying near the Kalamaki road should eat at Taverna Kostas. Good, cheap food with fantastic service.

Mark, I'm sure u will be pleased to hear that mythos is served in lagana. But I will also add that I believe that 'Hot Lips' is probably the best place to have your breakfast, quality food & service!

Myself and best friend Helen have just done our first holiday together here and were still talking! 2 weeks of pure indulgence and fun, we stayed at the Portego Hotel Apartments which was fantastic and met loads of great people during our holiday. I recommend it to the funlovers and sunlovers and people who don't like 'Big Style Clubbing' Medousa, Wild Coyote and Rescue were the best haunts for us and we hope to come back and do it all again next summer.

We have been to Laganas loads of times before and we think it is great...the weather in July is always really really nice and HOT!!! Not to sure about the excursions but they seem ok from what we have heard... but you are definately in the right place for the night life!!!!

The Oasis Apartments were basic but clean, the only small problem was that if anyone coughed (or made any other noises !!_ it echoed right around the place, you could hear the next door neighbours every move. There are shops for groceries (such as bottled water etc.) quite near by, and also a pool at the Oasis Hotel just across the lane. At night try Cocktails and Dreams.

Jeanette we are going to Laganas on 6 August,the Olympia is about 1 mile from the beach although just a few metres north of the main drag of bars, from looking at this web site there appears to be about 4-5 clubs and loads of music bars. Hope this helps.

I am going for the first time to Laganas on 27th June with my boyfriend. We are staying in the Olympia Hotel and are unsure how far away we are from clubs bars etc. Any info on the hotel or clubs would be greatly appreciated.

My wife and I stayed at the Tasia Apartments, which were a good walk from the beach and the noise etc of the main town which was ideal for us, but without doubt the best part of our week in Zante was staying at the Tasia, if you are looking for a extremly clean and friendly place to stay then look no further than the Tasia Apartments!!! The whole place was just great,especially Costas and all his family and friends who run the place,they all made our week fantastic!!! once again I cannot reccommend more strongly a great place to stay in Zante...

The resort as a good mix for all. Beach (away from resort centre)is good (sand)and gets better the more you go towards Kalamaki. Sea gently sloping and kid safe. Hotels on beach open to non res. so share their pools and bars (eg Hotel Anastasia). Loads of restaurants and food very good with good service - Greek management rather than english a bit better (depends what you want). Night time loads of bars on mainly 1 main road - lively and no rip off (2-3 euro for 1/2 l of beer or cocktail). At 12 the music on the street finishes and moves indoors. Only caution watch out for Albanians - rumours about attacks on women No problem if you keep together tho. PS Airport is small, and really not up to the no.s and is poor. Expext to queue outside in the sun on your way home.

If you are going to the island of zante then this is the best place to go. It is just one big road full of evreything even Mcdonalds. The beach is amazing and if you are staying in the main part were evreything is then you will have a very good time.

Theresa, It will be REALLY warm in July. Take a high factor sun cream! I worked in Laganas for 2 summers and I guarantee you will have a great time. All the nightlife is good, from the pubs (like Fishery Inn) to the clubs (like Zeros and Rescue) If you like Watersports, try and get over to Alykes on the East Coast of the Island, my friend Rob runs a watersports company, and it's really good fun. Worth trying to get a hire car and do your own tour if the island. You can do it in 1 day, and the roads are pretty straight forward. There's more to Zante than Laganas, and well worth exploring. Have fun

We're going to Laganas at the end of June and wondered if anyone had ever stayed in or knew of the Megara Studios. They are about a 10 minute walk from the main strip and pretty near the beach. I'd appreciate any info anyone can supply - thanks!

OK SO HOW CAN YOU PUT EXCELLENT FOR ALL..well laganas and its night life are centred around a main strip like most resorts. the pubs clubs bars tavernas shops tobacco shops and booze shops are all along the main strip about 3 miles long.. and loads of side streets have the same.. But just outside the main town the surrounding villages are quiet, very pretty, the locals don't speak much english here so be nice to the children and they'll translate for you.. yes these village restaurants are an extension of the household really familly orientated and it was so nice to see the Greek famillies out late with the children. and the kids are well behaved and wont disturb your meals. these village tavernas are where the islanders go for their nights out. and so the beer is cheaper. the food so much tastier and better presented. this might sound vague but at the time i didnt take notes for posting here... i was enjoying my holiday.. i litterally walked up the road from my studios and into a village. the taxi's are cheap... so worth a trip out.. piccys and mail addy for any one who would like info... http://homepage.mac.com/paulmelville/

Is there a waterpark in Zante and if so where is it

Been to loads of places (Falaraki, Malia, Magaluuf, Ibiza etc) and Laganas is by far and away the best. If your looking for a quality time where everyone is up for the crack then this is the place to go. Encountered no trouble whatsoever (possibly due to the fact that there were no big groups of lads) and on the whole the quality of women was good. Going back this year (29th July) and can't wait. Let's get on it!

We stayed in Kalamaki - which I thought was far too geared towards the English.. We then visited Laganas and might as well have been in Blackpool. A terrible place - depending on what you want from your holiday of course. I did place a comment to this effect when I got back but it seems to have been taken off. Are only favourable comments allowed????

well the place is the best i have been yet and ive been to crete, spain a few times and ibiza and it surely beats them hands down. the clubs are totally brilliant and the beach that is in the resort is great aswell.i do advise that if you r going to stay in this resort then to stay at the margarita hotel because its absoloutly brilliand and you cant go wrong . i will definatly be back as soon as possible !!!

Denzil, My sister and I were in Laganas for 3 weeks in july and they accept both currencies but I would take Drachma to be on the safe side. Zoe, the places to go are: Millagro (brilliant bar!), Rescue (a club), Medousa (another bar with firebreathing and bottle throwing!), I Frateli (a resteraunt on the beach with stunning views and lovely staff), and the trip to smugglers cove and a jeep safari are brilliant days out. I'm SO envious that your going there but have fun and big kiss to all the barmen for me! Cheers! Ella x

We are travelling to Zante (2 weeks in October 2001). Given that Greece is changing to the Euro in Jan 2002 can anyone offer us advice about which currency to take?

We loved Laganas and despite being 34 & 41 we didn't feel too old (average age is around 23) as we had feared. A great resort for lazy days and partying the night away. Our apartments (Canadian) were a bit of a walk from the main strip but meant we could get peace & quiet at night (although we were rarely in bed before 4 a.m.) Only went to the beach once - paid 2500dr for 2 sunbeds - and thought it was OK. A lot of touristy type shops selling cheap & cheerful junk but there are a couple of more up-market souvenir shops where you can get some lovely pottery. Not the type of resort to go if you're looking for a true taste of Greece but if you want a lively holiday with great night-life then head to Laganas. Would definitely go back.

Well what more could you want. GREAT BEACH/CLEAN ,SANDY,WARM WATER ,WALK OUT 100 YDS IN SHALLOW WATER. LOADS OF GREAT RESTAURANTS /CLUBS AND SHOPS. lOTS OF SWIMMING POOLS AND YOU CAN USE THEM ALL ! FRIENDLY LOCALS....THE BEST LOCATION, YOU CAN HAVE A QUIET HOLIDAY OR IF YOU HAVE TEENAGERS THEY WILL BE VERY HAPPY WITH LOTS TO DO

sarah, if you get this go to rescue's and zeros for clubs. Bad boys chill out bar is really nice but we found the club too small. Millagro's bar is good and does great cocktails. Cherry Bay was crap, unless you like cheesy music and a smelly club full of club 18-30's tw*ts (sorry,but its true!)
